The segment of Who Is America? wherein Sacha Baron Cohen poses as Israeli security agent Erran Morad is four minutes and 43 seconds long. I clicked away from the tab after 30 seconds and let the video run in the background while I did other things because I couldn’t watch. I just couldn’t watch.
But I also couldn’t not watch, not when Morad waved a “pedophile wand” in front of Roy Moore, who set it off. I didn’t want to experience the moment of extreme discomfort, but I also couldn’t NOT experience that moment of extreme discomfort. What would Roy Moore do? How would he react?
You can skip to the 2:50 mark if you don’t want to see Morrad butter Roy Moore up for the twist. In fact, you can skip the entire video, but I don’t know how you can’t NOT watch. I just wish there were a heart monitor attached to Moore because I want to know how fast his heart was racing as that wand came nearer to him. I wonder if he thought — for a split second, anyway — that the wand would vindicate him? That he stuck around to be tested just in case?
Deer in headlights, y’all. Deer in headlights.
