Would You Let Loki In Your Asgard? Maybe You Suffer From Villain Attraction Disorder

I’m not really offended by Nick Cannon’s whiteface so much as I’m horrified by it. Did he whiten his hands, too? HE WHITENED HIS HANDS. (Dlisted)

Did you know that Louis CK and Denis Leary have a feud that goes way, way back? The short version? Denis Leary is a dick. (Uproxx)

I love this Anne Hathaway dress. It looks like wallpaper from a 70s game show set. (GFY)

Someone who is awesome catalogued all the books that Rory Gilmore read in Gilmore Girls (339, in total) and is reading them in order. (Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge)

How does Gwyneth Paltrow maintain her flawless complexion and massive superiority complex? By something called “oil pulling,” which ironically is how Jared Leto managed to remove these pants. (Celebitchy)

Well, well, well: Look who has joined the cast of Ant Man. Well done, Edgar Wright. (/Film)

No, Divergent wasn’t a good movie, but we do appreciate how it — and The Hunger Games — is flipping the script on cinematic romance. (FSR)

No, gross. These are not the Muppets we remember. (Unreality)

If it’s possible, Ian McKellan narrating this anti-bullying campaign video may make you love him even more. (The Mary Sue)

Watch Neil Patrick Harris and Billy Eichner YELL at people on the streets of Manhattan about the HIMYM finale. (Vulture)

Here’s a few GoT links: First, an infographic displaying the the show’s seven deadly sins. (VF) Here’s some GoT inspired castles that you can rent. (HomeAway) Oh, and speaking of castles, did you know that the GoT pilot was shot in the same castle Monty Python and the Holy Grail was shot in? (WG)

Are you suffering from Villain Attraction Disorder? Do you ever find yourself saying, “I wouldn’t let Hannibal Lector eat my brains, but I would let him eat my ******?” Then I think you’ll sympathize with this affliction.

Heehee... VADer...I just got it. Very clever, and I've never actually shot coffee out of my nose before, but that lady with the Lecter slurpy-noise did it. You never forget your first.

  • denesteak

ok, nice job on Patrick Fenton reading all of Rory Gilmore's books. I wish I could do it. But I'm looking at the list of books, and it appears to be alphabetical... does he read it in alphabetical order or in the order they appear in the series? Not that it really matters. I'm just curious.

  • Belladonna Took

Is it just me, or on the Muppets link, does Fozzie look a little like Tom Hanks?

  • I wouldn't let Loki into my Asgard but I would sure like to introduce my hammer to his Dark World.

  • Ben

Just... fuck man that was magnificent. Bravo.

  • googergieger

I'm surprised Leary seems so buddy buddy with so many old school comedians considering the whole Hicks thing.

  • mzblackwidow

Gwynnie has added to her repertoire. Now along with oil pulling she and Chris are doing consciously uncoupling - instead of merely getting a fucking divorce like normal humans !!

  • Steve

What would Edward Tufte have to say about that GoT infographic? How much of the space is used on data, and how much on chartjunk? No data in the shields or the humorous pictures. And the 1st and 3rd season colours are too similar. Ick!
At least the circles seem to be proportional ...by area, it seems.

  • stardust

Hannibal Lecter, 10/10 would bang. But then he'd have to go away because I don't want to be eaten for actual dinner.

  • lovezoid

LectEr! It has never been spelt Lector in the 32 years he has been with us ('Lektor' was the 'Manhunter' spelling). I'm just saying because this would really, really irk him, and good, attentive writers constantly do it. Love your site though.

"I’m not really offended by Nick Cannon’s whiteface so much as I’m horrified by it. Did he whiten his hands, too? HE WHITENED HIS HANDS."
Dustin, I'm going to refresh your memory, because apparently you've forgotten something. Specifically, Eddie Murphy, 15 December 1984.

Denis Leary's response in that article is pretty much as infuriating as it gets - joking that a controversial chapter of his book was written by Louis CK, and if you don't like any others, Bill Hicks wrote those.

Yeah, it sure is funny that your signature bit was stolen from Louis CK and your entire persona and a number of other bits were directly taken from Hicks. Seems like a weird thing to try to own with a deflecting joke. Everything that made him a star was someone else's, it's a shame he can't own his own material as much as he can the stealing of other's.

  • e jerry powell

Signature bit? Shit, Denis Leary bit Bill Hicks's whole life. Except the part about the hockey fixation.

  • Darlene

What, no mention of Severus Snape?

  • PDamian

Are we talking true villains, or antiheroes? Because characters like Snape (yum) are as much victim as villain, and tragic heroes. But Hans Gruber (Die Hard)? Nothing there to shoot my windows. It's a rare villain who's truly repulsive and attractive at the same time. I like Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa. Yum.

  • chanohack

His brother Jeremy Irons ain't bad either.

  • BWeaves

    Ummmm, Rickman.

  • ZbornakSyndrome

Finally, I have a diagnosis for my condition. I need to check if my health care covers VAD therapy.

  • Joanna, who's this 'we' that you toss about so easily? C'mon, don't withhold from your old friends.

  • pajiba

    Old habits do die hard.

  • Sorry, that was in reference to her VF link you included in this PL. It's like she had a viewing party, and I'm bitter that we weren't invited anymore.

Once again, I was not clear.

  • BendinIntheWind

Oh my, that Hiddleston pic... my lions...
