Why Does It Always Look Like Hugh Jackman Has An Eight Pack Of Abs?

Morning darjeelings! How many of you played that geography game in Friday’s P. Love? How many of you were terrible at it? I was so terrible. This may or may not help you in future games. It’s a map of What Countries Are Named For. Warning, I know for a fact Romania is in the wrong place. Give a heads up in the comments if anything else looks out of wack to you. (Reddit)

Speaking of out of wack, I don’t know what is up with ol’ Wolverine’s body, but it always looks to me like he has extra, dare I say, muntant-y muscles. Like, double triceps or treble lats. You be the judge. All I know is that I prefer him clothed, preferably in a tuxedo whilst belting out showtunes. WHAT?! (Celebitchy)

Okay, but after seeing this vintage photo of Rod Stewart in his bathing suit, I’ll never complain about Jackman again. NOT SAFE FOR WORK OR YOUR RETINAS OR KEEPING YOUR BREAKFAST DOWN. Also in this album? Bowie and his Scary Monster. No I do NOT mean Iman. (Flavorwire)

To wrap up the hat trick of fleshly links, here’s Dustin’s latest for Uproxx: Movie Poster Cleavage. So Dustin’s done movie poster cleavage (which everyone knows is MY job) and booty. What’s next, boss? Movie Poster Elbows? (Uproxx)

In that post, Dustin pays homage to Miss Scarlett and her Johanssons. Neither of which will be attending the Marine Ball. Listen, she is well within her rights to say no, and she was very polite about it. But, um, please read her response to see what’s she’s sending as a consolation prize and then shake your head. (Film Drunk)

Did you see Cowboys and Aliens this weekend? Did you enjoy it? Here is a cute little depiction of The Many Roles of Harrison Ford. I gotta say, I dig the Richard Kimble beard the mostest. (Blame It On The Voices)

And while we’re charting pop culture, here’s a smurfier option. A few weeks ago I was trying to come up with a Geek Color Wheel (eg TARDIS Blue, Clockwork Orange, Soylent Green, etc). Slate did me one better with this technicolor dream wheel of cartoonish hues. (Slate)

Speaking of the cartoonish, I love this Monty Python/Alien mash-up. Adorable and it makes me think of Spaceballs. (Society 6)

SOMEONE MADE A STREET LEGAL BATMOBILE?! HOLY CANILEASETHAT, BATMAN? HOLY WHATSTHEREFINANCERATE, BATMAN? (Discovery Channel)

Also, this cloning article happened. I can’t tell if it’s real or a joke or what’s going on half the time. But, frankly, that’s my reaction to a lot of things the Japanese produce. Racist? I hope not. But have you seen their game shows? WHAT IS THAT? (Danny Choo)

So, the debt ceiling thing that’s been going on…do you feel like you have a firm grasp on it? No? Let the folks over at the Awl put it in simple terms you can follow. (The Awl)

In case that didn’t help, allow Kristen Chenowith, Dulee Hill, Allison Janney and Richard Schiff to explain it.

Finally, thanks to mswas for this beautiful little animated film. I love it and not just because tiny, animated lambs are adorable.

Joanna Robinson misses “West Wing.” She misses Toby Ziegler. She does not, however, miss Charlie terribad moustache.

I miss Toby too.

I played that geography game several times and reached level 10 consistently, but I never made it further.

Ford should be brandishing his "finger of doom" in a few of those pictures.

But I don't miss Kristin Chenoweth. That grating voice. That strange orange face. That grin that looks as if she had Joker surgery.

Why do I consistently think that Jackman is older than he is? The man's only 42, and yet I can't shake that Stallone in Rambo from 2008 feeling.

That Forty Fords thingie is great (my fave is Deckard w/ the tie), but it needs more shouting.

Also, I think I'd make much better choices in life if I could just have the characters from The West Wing talk me through every quandary or dilemma I face. That's probably a bad thing to admit.

I can't watch the vid, so I don't know if they're using their characters or not, but I just want to say the best way to get all of the information across is to have Dulé Hill do it as Gus. I will listen to Gus talk about everything.

Oh good god and sunny Jesus I lol'd and puked a little bit(lolvom or vomlol?) at that Rod Stewart picture! That pube fringe peeking out of his tiny, shoddy knickers is hilarious.

Oh the lamb video - first I went huh? Then I went oh no! Then I went wha? Then it was all awwwwwww and then wow!

Well, I feel moodwhiplashed and sheeeeepish (TM Aladdin).

Mick Jagger still has a 27-inch waist, doesn't he?
I hate that mofo. At least Rod Stewart had the decency to get fat.

Iman back in the days when she looked like Naomi Campbell... Hmmm.

If what Angie says about Bowie is true, I'm betting Jagger had some pelvic damage, judging from that picture.

Rick James, bitch!

That "Holy ______, batman!" always makes me think of rehearsal for the production of Romeo and Juliet I'm working on. Friar Lawrence has a line that goes "Holy St. Francis, what a change is here!" and the cast has adopted "Holy St. Francis, what a ______ is here!" as our common exclamation of shock/outrage.

Bowie stuffed in that picture.

Oh, 3D printers are getting practical. The Japanese have perfected extracting the soul during imaging.

Here's a couple videos of making functional crescent wrenches:

Even Jay Leno has one:

The tech has since expanded to include (some) metal, resulting in a metal part. The real cool application, I think, will be generating substrates for growing replacement organs.

I just stared at that map of country names for, like, half an hour in fascination. The only thing I spotted that could be considered wrong is that scholars dispute the etymology of "America." They say it comes from a Welsh merchant named Merrick and not from Amerigo Vespucci, the biggest argument I recall being that if it were named after Amerigo, they would have used his last name.
