Was "Community" All Just A Fever Dream?

While we’re on the subject of fever dreams, my little hallucinations, have I linked this before? Part of my brain says I have. It’s realistic paintings of childish drawings and the results are equal parts cute and nightmarish. (Go To Public Schools)

On the heels of those super polished covergirl Disney princesses from yesterday, we bring you these f*cked up versions. Snow White is really fun but Alice is my favorite. (Who Killed Bambi)

All you sinister lefties, it turns out there are medical drawbacks to being a southpaw. (WSJ)

Speaking of creepy hands, check out the super photoshopped baby arm on Alyson Hannigan in the new American Pie poster. They tried to recreate the poses from the original poster and sort of failed miserably with her. Sean William Scott on the other hand? A delight then and now. YES I SAID IT. Watch The Rundown when you’re hungover and then tell me I’m wrong. (BioTV)

For all you social media devotees, here’s the new NEW Twitter. Waaaaaaooooooowwww. (Uproxx)

I saw these fantastically creepy ornaments on a few sites today and, lo and behold, it’s my friend Michelle’s Etsy’s shop! And since I am all about cronyism, go check out here page. Buy her off-putting Christmas things! (Madam Macabre)

Come on, that Cthulhu ornament is pretty cute. Speaking of beasties, scientists have discovered a creature with eyes that each housed 16,000 individual lenses. I eagerly anticipate the SyFy film version. (Wired)

Speaking of the sci-fi fantasy realm, here’s a pretty sweet breakdown of the “kinds of magic” in classic fantasy worlds. (io9)

My love of Pre-Raphaelite art coupled with my fangirl feelings for Saoirse Ronan (Have you watched Hanna yet? Why not?) makes this one of my favorite photo shoots of all time. (Tom & Lorenzo)

Are you feeling a little uninspired when it comes to manufacturing the Holiday Spirit? Well this is the article for you. It’s a step by step “how to” on mulling. Basically? You bung a bunch of things in a pot. WITH BOOZE! (Hairpin)

I know most of you don’t care, but I’m heartily pissed that they’re thinking of casting Sascha Baron Cohen in Les Miserables, particularly when they had hit the nail so squarely on the head with Geoffrey Rush. (NY Mag)

Ha! Oh friends, if you thought that link was gay, check out this video of NPH and his husband singing the classic Cole Porter song, “You’re The Top.” I had never considered that interpretation.

This? This is the best Star Trek-themed local mattress commercial you’ll see all day.

And, finally, the cast of “Community” gets all adorable over on Joel McHale’s “The Soup.” Also? Nick Kroll, you are a national treasure.

Holy shit, a shout-out to Gordie Dodd! This is a proud, proud day for British Columbians.

Honestly, the SBC casting news is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. It's a character role and he's a character actor. And if they cut Dog Eats Dog, which I imagine they will, he doesn't even have to be as hard edged. Geoffrey was a much better choice, but this option doesn't distress me. When they finally break the news that Lea is playing Eponine will be when I die a little inside.

I don't like what they're implying with that American Pie poster. WTF? They do remember what she did with that flute, right?

Posted by: Mel C. at December 9, 2011 2:57 PM

Uh oh. You just committed the cardinal sin of geeks. The Community video more than makes up for it though.

She's not a nerd at all! Faker! She's worse than Olivia Munn! Get her!

Now someone changed it and is making chumpmeat out of ALL of us!

Misspelling "Seann William Scott""

What's the problem with SBC? He sings beautifully and he can act circles around most of his Hollywood contemporaries. That's a ton better than anyone they're considering for Cosette. Lea Michele: no than you.

This? This is the best Star Wars themed local mattress commercial you’ll see all day.

NerdFail!

That was Star Trek. Please get your fictional Sci-fi universes right or I will discontinue my patronage of this establishment.

Those Twisted Princesses provide great material for next year's Halloween costume!

Nick Kroll IS a treasure.

"sinister lefties"
I like what you did right there

Posted by: birj at December 9, 2011 6:21 PM

Why not watch The Rundown any ol' time? It's pretty great.

Christopher Walken's monologue? I'm pretty sure he didn't even know the cameras were rolling. It's brilliant.

DODDS is in my city!! DODDS is in my city!!

Dodd is the best. There are bus ads with him dressed up as Indiana Jones and other famous characters. I bought my mattress from his son and met Dodd in the store! Seeing this on Pajiba has made me inexplicably happy.

Well that's about the most interesting Snow White's ever been.

All you sinister lefties, it turns out there are medical drawbacks to being a southpaw

Nonsense! This is propaganda spread by the inferior righties to try and keep us down, but you'll never succeed! Maniacal laugh, maniacal laugh...

Also if this next statement is true, BURN IT WITH FIRE:

Well, the New York Post claims to know four big-name contenders vying for the role, and they include Scarlett Johansson, Evan Rachel Wood, Lea Michele (who performed in the Broadway version of Les Miz as a little girl), and Taylor Swift.

I hate everyone.

That last Community episode making fun of Glee was fantastic! (new rule, musical episodes of already-good shows are awesome--this and Buffy's "Hush" are all the evidence I need) For anyone who didn't see it, here's three of the best clips:

Annie's "Teach me how to understand Christmas"
Troy and Abed's Christmas Infiltration rap
pandering to Pierce in "Baby Boomer Santa"

THAT MATTRESS GUY IS DODD'S!!! Dodd's is a mattress place in my hometown, Victoria. We used to talk about his commercials all the time. He's a Victoria legend.

I was once working on a novel where God comes and takes all of us goodly right-handed folks up to heaven and leaves the rest of the heathens behind. I was going to call it Left Behind, but apparently that's already taken.
