James Cameron said that he was in the process of buying the rights to Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park only to have Steven Spielberg beat him to it “by a few hours.” He also said that his vision was to make a much darker movie, because “dinosaurs are for eight-year-olds.” Lol, because Avatar was that dark, right? (AV Club)

Justin Theroux, who somehow didn’t make it to the Pajiba 10 (y’all, we need to have some words), has been out and about, attending Paris Fashion Week, supporting Emily Blunt and John Krasinski at the A Quiet Place premiere, and hanging out with Emma Stone and Ness from Queer Eye (which, by the by, have you watched it? I’m not exaggerating: it. is. fucking. amazing). He just seems like good people. (Lainey Gossip)

If you thought that Louise Linton, the wife of Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, would learn from her past mistakes and stop talking, you’d be very, very wrong. (Jezebel)

Andrew Morton is an author who wrote an unauthorized biography about Princess Diana, so take this with however many grains of salt you enjoy in your spilled tea. His new book about Meghan Markle alleges that she divorced her first husband by mail, sending him a letter along with her wedding ring. I guess that’s better than e-mail? (Celebitchy)

I love, love, love Legion, and I love, love, love Dan Stevens in it, and I also love, love, love everything about his outfit here. (GFY)

John Boyega might be joining the Marvel Universe. Let’s speculate wildly about who he could play. (Shadow and Act)

This story is bonkers. Stan Lee says that a former business associate stole his blood to make commemorative pens that write with his blood. (Dlisted)

Instead of joining The Crown, Hugh Laurie is set for a role in George Clooney’s Catch-22. (The Wrap)

Pixar’s shorts are as equally exciting as most (*side eyes Cars*) of their movies. The Incredibles 2 short is about a dumpling! (Nerdist)

You might not want to admit if you remember the sound of Windows 95 starting up, but you can click over to this link and hear that sound slowed down by 4000%. It’s super chill and pretty great for background noise if you need that sort of thing to help focus on a task. (Motherboard)

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of an Arizona police officer who shot a woman outside her home because she was carrying a knife. The woman didn’t act aggressively and was speaking calmly. Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg were the only two dissenters. (The Root)

A Loud Talker wrote into an advice column about an anonymous letter left on their desk, asking them to quiet down a bit. Then a few days later maybe the same person (?) left a pacifier on Loud Talker’s desk. I sit close to a Loud Talker myself, so I kind of get this. It’s mean. But also a bit funny. But mean. (Ask A Manager)

Headline: R.L. Stine Is Teaching an Online Class on Writing Horror for Kids. How cool is that?! (Mental Floss)

We’re clearly not the only fans of Keala Settle around here. Join the club, Selena Gomez.

Thumper liked the movie Arrival so much that he sought out Stories of Your Life and Others by Ted Chiang. The first three stories in the collection were interesting and well told. When Thumper reached Arrival’s source material, "Story of Your Life," things ground to a halt. "The dialogue used between the two main scientists who are trying to learn from recently arrived aliens feels like it is out of a Lifetime movie." It was a letdown. What source material have you found disappointing? (Cannonball Read 10)
