Last night’s VMAs showcased a slightly more mature Miley Cyrus. Our lady of twerk took her homeless date, Jesse, for In-N-Out burgers after the show. (Us) Miley wasn’t all class last night. She did call Ed Sheeran an a-hole as he made his way up to the stage for whatever award. (Jezebel)

Iggy Azalea fell off the stage at a pre-VMAs event on Friday night. The lyrics. They never stopped. (DL)

Nicki Minaj’s opening VMA number was pretty tragic even if one disregards her wardrobe malfunction. Who was the choreographer of this mess? Oh. (Lainey)

Katy Perry and Riff Raff attended the VMAs together. They homaged Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s denim-on-denim ensemble from 2001. All you really need to know about Riff is that he was James Franco’s inspiration in Spring Breakers. (CB)

Amber Rose also did a VMAs throwback look: A version of Rose McGowan’s iconic, butt-baring look in 1998. (Page Six)

Brit photographer (and occasional tv host) Amanda de Cadenet took a bunch of classy backstage photos last night. (WG)

On a more sobering note: Henry Rollins wrote a bizarre column called “F*ck Suicide” late last week. It was not well received for obvious reasons. (LAWeekly) Rollins offered up an honest-to-godtopus apology on his website. A real apology. None of this Gene Simmons crap. (Rollins’ site)

Oooh, the Old Spice guy did the ALS ice bucket challenge. So did Lee Pace,Tom Hardy,
George R.R. Martin, Joss Whedon, Maisie Williams, Richard Armitage, Guillermo del Toro, Rachel McAdams, and your Sister. (TMS)

An online fundraiser has gathered up $235,000 to support Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. This amount has surpassed the $214,000 raised for the Michael Brown Memorial Fund. Even worse? The Ferguson Police Department is directing people to the GoFundMe page of Wilson. So much for justice. (Uproxx)

Here’s a fitting artistic tribute to the many great characters played by Robin Williams. One of many to come, I’m sure. (Unreality)

TIFF announced that they will hold a minifestival called “Bill Murray Day” on Sept. 5 to honor his career and lead up to the world premiere of St. Vincent. Many wondered if Bill would attend. Of course he will (YES). And there will probably be plenty of tequila on hand. (NYT)

Marvel has announced a dancing Groot toy, but it’s not the toy you’re imagining in your head right now. It’s a Funko bobblehead. (Slashfilm)

Zendaya is like a more wholesome version of Rihanna on the red carpet. Both of them can wear anything and get away with it. (GFY)

The impending release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier on Blu-Ray/DVD has led to an overzealous analysis of the love triangle within the movie. Hint: Black Widow is nowhere to be found. (Decider)

Everyone knows that $100 doesn’t go as far in NYC as in, say, Topeka, Kansas. Here’s an interactive graph that illustrates the relative value of $100 in the rest of the country. (MF)
