Stephanie Seymour Got "Creative" with Her Sons and It's Making Me Really Uncomfortable

By Cindy Davis | Pajiba Love | February 12, 2014 | Comments ()

Viggo has a new film. I repeat, Viggo has a new film in which he wears suits, kicks ass and and costars with Oscar Isaac. Just ignore Kiki. (Celebitchy)

Speaking of badasses, Game of Thrones’ Catelyn Stark is most appropriately heading to 24: Live Another Day. Michelle Fairley takes over the major villain role recently vacated by Judy Davis, who left for “personal reasons.” (Vulture)

And another reminder that along with winter, George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire art show is coming to Seattle in March. The show will feature original artwork inspired by Martin’s series; you can preview some of the pieces and R.S.V.P. here.
(George R. R. Martin)

Do we really need another version of Stephen King’s It? On the one hand, Tim Curry already forked us up for life; on the other, it’ll be directed by True Detective’s Cary Fukunaga. Okay, maybe. (Slashfilm)

We definitely need more Flight of the Conchords, so I hope the movie rumors are true. Meanwhile, I just watched these Seven Stellar FoC Videos again, and so should you…if you’re into it. (Unreality)

Holy crapola! A Kentucky sinkhole cleared out a whole section of the National Corvette Museum. The rest of the building remains open, but uh, I’m thinking today is not the mothereffing day. (Neatorama)

Uh, remind me never to spend Valentine’s Day with Gary Oldman. My usual adoration has strangely dissipated after he shared a certain British V-Day tradition on Kimmel. (Uproxx)

I’m not the only one who feels really strange looking at this Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot of Stephanie Seymour with her sons, right? Right? (via Dlisted)

Couldn’t she have worn a Star Wars dress instead? I can’t decide if this Rodarte Luke dress is cool, but by gum the C-3PO one most definitely is. (Go Fug Yourself)

Dustin says the season finale of Dads had a legitimately funny moment. I think I’ll just take his word for it. (Warming Glow)

Goshdammit. Tom Brokaw announced he’s been diagnosed with multiple myeloma. The 74 year old newsman (since 1966) says his doctors are optomistic—as is he. “I remain the luckiest guy I know.” Send out the good vibes, people. (NBC News)

I would really like an adorable penguin to follow me around all day. (via Laughing Squid)

Did you ever stop to think that Laurie in Little Women was just a little bit creepy in his obsession with marrying one of the March sisters? Baxlala thinks that Li’l Wimmin, the comic adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel, "…gets Laurie’s character a hell of a lot better than [she] did as a lovesick teen." Check out her funny review and see how this adaptation hits the mark. (Cannonball Read 6)

Finally, someone else who likes Man of Steel…I’ve found my people (babies?)! (via The Mary Sue)

Cindy Davis, (Twitter) never eats chocolate spewed from another mammal.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

  • TheOriginalMRod

So Stephanie Seymour is a Helicopter Mom? And I see that smug is the new black.

  • stella

So, I thought it said Stephanie Meyer and was terribly confused....

  • lowercase_ryan

I just watched the Dads clip and I came back here to say that it was offensive as fuck and completely unfunny. The song rhymed, that was it, there was nothing clever about it. There's nothing funny about fucking with people in recovery. I'm seriously fucking disappointed in you that you thought that was genuinely funny.

  • mrsdalgliesh

That baby watching "Man of Steel" has immediately improved my day. Pure joy.

  • bastich

Anybody wanna bet that the header pic is gonna double as the Seymour Family Christmas Card ten months from now?

  • loo shag brolley

Cary Fukunaga has something to do with True Detective? The universe really, really wants me to watch this show.

  • gutpunchprod

If she was my Mum, I would. 'Eff the haterz.

  • loo shag brolley
  • jthomas666

    Dear Stephanie

We gotta say, that photoshoot with the kids really creeps us out.

    Billy Ray Cyrus
    Miley Cyrus

PS. Terry Richardson says "Call me!"

  • Salieri2

    Dear Stephanie,

What kind of family values are you promoting with your sketchy photos?

    Brooke Hogan
    Hulk Hogan

  • Sean

The photo shoot is a little weird and inappropriate. Even if her sons are gay.

  • DarthCorleone

Maybe scrap the giant spider at the end of It this time.

  • Finance_Nerd

Stephanie Seymour... change that to Stephanie Seymourthanwewanto

  • Blake Shrapnel

Paging Dr. Freud, Dr. Freud, if you could please pick up the white courtesy telephone by the front desk...

  • John W

That little kid enjoying Man of Steel is the most heart warming thing I've seen in a long time.

  • Addicct

Didn't Stephanie get snapped inappropriately kissing one of her sons on the beach? Or was that someone else? Either way EWWW

  • lukebc

Nope. Nothing inappropriate about any of those images.

  • Mrs. Julien

I may be punch drunk from exhaustion and an incipient cold, but ya'll are ON FIRE today.

  • Sara_Tonin00

I concur. (except in my case I may be desperate for any semblance of human sanity and warmth)

  • jon29

Stephanie Seymour and her son(s) seem to have an unusual relationship, of the "draped all over each other on the beach with the son at half-mast" variety.

  • Sean

But the errect son is openly gay. And he was a teenager. Teenagers get errections all the damn time. Algebra class especially for some reason.

  • jon29

I mean, I have no idea about her son's sexuality. Does that make it better?

If this were a photo of, say, Jim Seymour and his gay 15 year-old daughter, we'd talk about it, right?

  • loo shag brolley

What 15-year-old kid wants ANYTHING to do with his mother in public, much less... whatthegrossever this is?

  • Sean

Well, I am just saying the hardon the kid was sporting didn't come from his mother. That picture actually seems sort of harmless. A kid hugging/kissing his mom. The fact that she is wearing a bikini just makes it look weird.

  • Alex0001

    you forgot .../copping a feel

  • Bob Genghis Khan

If I knew who Stephanie Seymour was maybe I'd think it was weird.

  • Al Borland's Beard

Yeah, a stranger posing seductively in dominatrix gear with her two sons isn't that weird. But can you imagine if it was Jane Seymour? What the what?!

  • Mrs. Julien

STANDING O for that magnificent display of sarcasm.

  • Bert_McGurt

"The hole is in part of the domed section of the museum..."

More like the doomed section of the museum, am I right?

  • Sara_Tonin00

Btw, I love the ad on the page when I look at the corvette story.

  • grr arrgh

"Only slightly dented from a previous accident."

  • That works for both Sara's ad and BWeaves....

  • BWeaves

Oddly enough, the ad on the page when I click on the link is for "sexiest celebrity butt holes."

  • Sara_Tonin00

    Whaaaat and why.

    Pix or it didn't happen.

  • BWeaves

I don't know how to do that.

  • Sara_Tonin00

I'm on a Mac, so I use screen grab in Preview. I think pcs have an F key shortcut for it

  • BWeaves

    OK, thanks.

Great, now it's showing me different ads. No proof. Sorry.

  • jennp421

At least it's not just fathers doing creepy photo shoots with their daughters - remember those Miley Cyrus pictures? Equal opportunity weirdness and creepiness.

  • Al Borland's Beard

Is this about her Christmas album cover? The one with Miley grinding on a Christmas tree as Billy Ray nods in approval while throwing out singles? I thought that was tastefully done.

  • bastich

I'm with you -- "Twelve Days of Twerkmas" is a fine album.

  • L.O.V.E.

Loved the whole album, but there were a few standouts:

    Jiggle Balls
    My First Ho -- Elle
    I'll Be Baked For Christmas
    Santa Claus is Coming
    Rudolph the Red-Nosed Cokehead
    and Santa Baby

  • Sara_Tonin00

That entire Rodarte collection, without exception, is terrible. It did give us this Fug Girls gem on slide 13 though, so it's minorly worth it:

That Time Aunt Veru Threw A Tupperware Party.

  • I liked the "That Time Aunt Veru Threw A Swingers Party" better. But the SW Geek in me demands that I point out it's Aunt Beru.

  • Amanda Graham

    Marry Me.

  • Well, OK, but I'm warning you, I'm a horrible lay. Seriously. It'll be the worst five minutes of your day. But if you're down, I say let's go for it.

  • NateMan

    1. I too like Man of Steel!
    2. No mother should ever, EVER, be in that clinch with her sons. I'm not typically a judgmental parent - well, that's not entirely true - but that photo shoot is royally fucked up.
    3. Who the fuck is Stephanie Seymour? IMDB isn't much of a help... Is she just some sort of D-list actress?

  • Wigamer

She once dated Axl Rose & there was a domestic incident during which I believe she beat his ass.

  • space_oddity

She was a Victoria's Secret model back in the 80s-90s.

  • How did you feel about the November Rain video? She was the miniskirted bride.

  • Sara_Tonin00

    Just watch Cold November Rain.

  • NateMan

Ah, okay, now I know her. That's a reference I can get!

  • TK

The generation gap rears its ugly head. Stephanie Seymour was a massively popular model - a regular in the SI Swimsuit issue - about 20 years ago. Sort of the Kate Upton of her time, but with less personality. Dated Axl Rose, that sort of thing.

  • "Dated Axl Rose, that sort of thing."

    Well there's your problem....

  • PerpetualIntern

Not just dated Axl Rose, but I believe is the main subject of the November Rain video, no?

EDIT: I need to learn to read the comments before typing.

  • lmtj

Actually she was the subject of "Don't Cry", "November Rain" and was supposed to be "Estranged", which their nasty break up happened before that got filmed. This is why the video is completely bizarre. The dinosaur in the video belonged to her elder son, Dylan.
I will go sit quietly in the corner now for knowing this information directly off the top of my head.

  • NateMan

Not that much of a generation gap - I'm 34. I just don't remember her at all. But then Kathy Ireland is about the only model I remember from that time period. I wasn't big into sports or models.

  • Mrs. Julien

Mr. Julien remembers seeing her interviewed and thinking she was stunningly beautiful until she opened her mouth and revealed herself to be, um, best enjoyed in photos only.

  • TK

See the previously noted "dated Axl Rose" for further evidence of her profound dimness.

  • Mrs. Julien

Nothing says "pummel me at the school bus stop" quite like pictures of oneself adjusting one's mother's dominatrix boots.

  • Jim

Imagine the excuse note when it makes them late for school.

  • Mrs. Julien

  • Sara_Tonin00

Thank you for the Viggo news and the penguin. Two things I really needed today.

I want Michelle Fairley AND Judy Davis. But I don't want 24. so. Make that happen, universe.

And yeah. That photoshoot - just what you show here, because ain't no way I'm clicking through - is heeby-dry-heaving me.

  • Al Borland's Beard

    Motherboy XXX

  • dizzylucy

Oh God. Do you think they fought over who got to dance with her at boys' choice?

  • Al Borland's Beard

If so, it would be the most complicated Boyfights yet.

  • Bert_McGurt

You know, I didn't think there was any way to make "Hey, brother" any creepier, and we are.

  • Bad Superman

Dude, love your mom, but don't LOVE your mom.

  • logan

Need to save Seymour's pics for Mothers day.

  • L.O.V.E.

Ugh. Twilight incest themes are so 2012. I mean, really.

  • As the mother of teenage sons, can I just say that photo shoot creeps me the hell out? Who thinks that sort of thing is okay??

  • Mmmm, Viggo. Permanent place on my freebies list, not least because I suspect we could have great conversations.

  • Mrs. Julien

    Not most either, I'm betting.

  • Jim

Ms Seymour, I believe I have a quote that applies in this situation.

    "Hands up for 'Eeeeewwww'"
    - Buffy Summers

  • Sirilicious

Also, we don't need to guess about their childhood trauma.

  • pcloadletter

Yup. Those pics give me the wiggins.

  • Mrs. Julien

The judges would also have accepted, "Wow. That was gross." from the Summers collection.

  • Mrs. Julien

I have an adorable penguin that follows me around all day. His name is Malcolm, he is an emperor penguin chick, and I am the only one who can see him.

  • BWeaves

You didn't call him Harvey? Oh, right, he's a penguin not a pookah.

Between the baby's reaction to Superman and the penguin, I feel all happy.

  • Mrs. Julien

    He's a pooka.

  • Fabius_Maximus

I didn't know that penguin was in a pooka's repertoire.

  • BWeaves

Oops. I updated my post at the same time you were typing.

  • lowercase_ryan

Ryan Murphy is a photographer for Harper's Bazaar?? Or is this Seymour auditioning for next season's AHS?

  • logan

Are Stephanie's sons taking off her dominatrix stocking or putting them on? I dont know which is worse BTW.

  • NateMan

Taking them off is definitely worse. Definitely.

  • jollies

I disagree. Putting them on is worse. Whatever happened has already happened. It's too late for some unexpected event to intervene and stop the madness.
