I don't like Pauly Shore like the rest of you but I still think the redneck from Texas going up on stage and punching him proves how stupid that guy is. Instead of coming up with a snappy comeback that would have put Shore in his place, he has to make like a gorilla and punch Shore because he told him "shut the fuck up."

I'm with them, I was wondering why it took security so long. You wonder if they were standing just off-stage saying "Sweet, I've gotta see this." Here's my thinking on incidents like this in general (although I'd probably have to see more of this one to make a judgement call); beating people up is a punishable offense, as it should be, but if you antagonize someone who you absolutely know would kick your ass and you end up getting your ass kicked, then I don't feel sorry for you at all.

I think The Superficial summed this up the best...

There's some NSFW language, but if you watch the clip you can really feel the intelligence emanating from the room. As if they managed to cram every member of Mensa into that little comedy club. If they all concentrated really hard they could probably lift the entire building with just the power of their minds."

PS it turns out it was all staged anyway, Im afraid...

So who's playing below their intelligence, the pack of idiots that predictably reacts with anger and force to the "smart-ass" comedian, or the comedian who should be smarter than them and know that's what drunken wt idiots do and still pushes all the right buttons to get his ass kicked?

Again, I don't want to defend idiots that beat people up rather than being the bigger person and/or using their wit to respond, but if you think you're the smartest person in the room and you can't manage to not get knocked out by someone who paid money to see you, you might want to think about how smart the smartest person in the room really is.

That being said, I can't freaking abide jerks talking during performances either, so I can certainly sympathize with Shore for saying something about it. Again, if the clip is real, I don't understand why security wouldn't have had this handled. Were they in the john?
