Gwyneth hates America! I feel so insignificant now, don’t you? (The Blemish)

Hot Fuzz is pretty much a zombie-less sequel to Shaun of the Dead. And that’s actually good enough for me. (Popoholic)

41-17. Three minutes left in the game. Literally, the most amazing, unexpected finish you’ll ever see, with a Maddenesque “I done wet my britches” play call. It’s a shame Texans don’t announce all football games. (College Humor)

RenĂ©e Zellweger is hard to look at — now mathematically proven! (Yeeeah!)

If J.Lo’s back crack mated with Britney’s front crack, we’d all fall into a rip in the space-time continuum. But we’d be a helluva lot happier for it. (Celebitchy) & (IDLYITW)

Two semi-decent skits on “SNL” over the weekend: 1) A self-deprecating “Lost” sketch featuring Matthew Fox, and 2) an Amy Poehler bit on the Britney bits. (TV Addict) & (Celebitchy)

You know, I start to allow myself to think that Gwyneth isn't the most tedious person on the face of the earth, then I invariably read something that makes me want to beat her about the head.

Why? She's allowed to hate America.

The Lost sketch wasn't funny at all.

The pitch meeting for it:
Writer #1: Who's the host?
Writer #2: Matthew Fox, the guy from LOST.
Writer #1: Oh good, we can have a sketch where a bunch of people pitch their theories to him.
Writer #2: What's the joke?
Writer #1: What's a joke? Oh and he's attractive to. Make sure we comment on that.

Should be "too" instead.

I thought parts of the Mayan sketch were good, but SNL is pretty much horrible these days.

Ah. That's who it was. I saw part of the 'math whiz/history buff' sketch and it made me giggle.

"Well, thank you, professo--.. where did he go?"
".. I don't know. .. but he took our television."

After the Hot Fuzz trailer, I need to lay down. For a couple of weeks.

Can't speak for Sam T, but I think ol' Gwynnie is quite the hypocrite. Like the site said, her condemnation of American capitalism is ridiculous when she's a direct beneficiary of it. Until the moment comes when she decides to "live off the land" and forego her fortune, she can shut the hell up. I don't really care that she hates America, as I can't deny that there are certainly some things to hate or be ashamed of, just that she's an idiotic, hypocritical bitch about it.

Nice to know that ignorant snobbery is still alive and well. Thanks, Gwynnie!

Thank you, Daphne. Everything GP is she can attribute you good ol' U.S. capitalism and nepotism. I won't deny that she is a talented actress (I'm not giving her "brilliant" or "gifted"), but everything that woman has today is because of her (parents') stature.

Gwynnie, the reason people talk about money and their jobs at dinner is because, I don't know, they have to WORRY about those things occasionally? As for the Brits being more intelligent and "civilized" than Americans are, well, she's living proof of her own point on that one.

No offense, but who the hell cares what some Hollywood actress thinks? I mean, if my Congressman said stuff like that, THEN I would worry. But Gwyneth Paltrow?

Posted by: ignoramus at December 5, 2006 7:42 AM

Ignoramus - are you suggesting that some of us posters put too much thought into what celebrities say? FOR SHAME.

You make an excellent point, but I must admit that I really, really enjoy complaining about people who grate on me - even perfect strangers who I will never meet. It's my weakness ;).
