And Now, a Momentary Distraction From Election Coverage

Pajiba Love / Stacey Nosek

Pajiba Love | November 4, 2008 | Comments (24)

I am so glad this fucking election is almost over. I mean, yeah, it’ll be great when *crosses fingers* Obama wins, but it’ll be even greater to get back to what Pajiba Love is really about: celebrities and their goings-on. (WIMB)

Anyway, now that I got your attention… Yes, this Love is going to be primarily election-related. So if you don’t want to vote simply because this is probably the most important election of your entire lives, do it for the free shit. (AP)

See? Literally everyone loves Obama. *crosses fingers* (QuizLaw)

Also, on a sad note, our sincerest of condolences to Barack Obama for the loss of his grandmother. Seriously though, the man’s grandmother just died. How could you not vote for him? Do you not have a soul? (Celebitchy)

Danica McKellar is still amazing everyone with her smartness and hotness. (Esquire)

Who is having an election party tonight? Here is a comprehensive menu of beverages or munchies perfect for *crosses fingers* ushering in a new era. (SeriousEats)

OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD *CROSSES FINGERS* (Deus Ex Malcontent)

Vote, vote vote like a baby stoat! I don’t know what a stoat is, but apparently it’s really mothereffing cute. (CuteOverload)

Jesus Christ. Even I couldn’t make it through an entire episode of the “Anna Nicole Show,” but apparently John McCain never missed a beat. (EvilBeet)

The New Kids on the Block are so cool, that despite being old and married and baby-having, they’re still living it up on a stripper pole-adorned tour bus. (Celebslam)

Is it really true that Polish people are stupid? Well, I’m half-Polish. So that oughta suffice as a resounding yes. And also this. (CC Insider)

Angelina Jolie looks lip-licious on the cover of the UK Bazaar. (The Blemish)

You know what I hate almost as much as the idea of a McCain-Palin presidency? Fucking mosquitoes. (AnimalReview)

Either way, no matter who wins, Paris Hilton wants everybody to know that the huge voter turnout was totally thanks to her. (WIMB)

And finally, here is some music to vote by. No really, it’s a videography of the band Cursive. (TMITM)

Now for what I hope will be my very last 2008 presidential campaign clip, did anyone ever stop to think about the fact that maybe McCain doesn’t really want to win? You know, he’s very old.

Kate Winslet is perfect. The end. She's the first girl whose ass I wanted to gnaw on.

But the tragic shoes on the cover!

They hurt me!

Posted by: Jay at November 4, 2008 12:10 PM

Don't look at the shoes!! She's NAKED and her hair is all TUSSLEY!!

Posted by: Julie at November 4, 2008 12:14 PM

For the love of god Nosek, your latent lesbianism is blinding you to the fact the McKellar Ain't. All. That.

Posted by: BarbadoSlim at November 4, 2008 12:16 PM

I love Kate Winslet too but that picture looks about as much like her as I do. I thought it was a very old, very air-brushed Britney Spears photo shoot at first.

Posted by: becks at November 4, 2008 12:20 PM

I just love that Ben and Jerry's has a chief euphoria director. How awesome must their meetings be?!

Posted by: DeadBessie at November 4, 2008 12:24 PM

I now renounce everything and go gay. Kate, I am your slave.

Posted by: Cindy at November 4, 2008 12:40 PM

Is that who that is... I had no idea.

Baby stoat!!

Posted by: Anna von Beaverplatz at November 4, 2008 12:42 PM

Slim, you're just pissed because for all of your wit and prose around here, you couldn't talk your way out of a paper bag around the McKellar. She'd verbally and intellectually bitch-slap you until you were sobbing on the floor and kissing her shoes.

Posted by: Sean at November 4, 2008 12:49 PM

I...uhhh...will be in the bathroom....for a while.

Posted by: Admin11 at November 4, 2008 12:52 PM

that's a nice painting. very abstract.

Posted by: anon at November 4, 2008 1:02 PM

I think if McCain would have come out on the stump and said "My friends, I know how to destroy the mosquitos. All of them." it might have been enough for me to switch my vote.

Posted by: Handel at November 4, 2008 1:09 PM

Jay, you are all kinds of awesome! the shoes might not be that bad with a different...um, outfit.

although Kate is super hot, all that airbrushing is not.

Posted by: pq at November 4, 2008 1:31 PM

The real Kate Winslet is very attractive. That photo looks nothing like her.

Posted by: BWeaves at November 4, 2008 1:59 PM

I think the actual print has some kind of Deneuve pun in the title, so it's deliberately not-entirely-Winslet.

But yeah, I'm picky about details. Open toed shoes count against any outfit for me, including nudity, but those go ahead and insult that coat.

Those black stretchy-looking slingback things look better. I'm sure they're peep toe though. Enough already with the peep toe! Am I going to get to see intact shoes again in my lifetime?

I just want a good ol' pump! You can throw in the tan sole for the nice contrast if you want, but, you know, that's up to you.

(The adult entertainment industry is, of course, an utter shoe fiasco. How can you ever hope to be taken seriously with that junk?)

Not to imply that I have anything against Kate Winslet nudity in itself. Because I really don't. Nope.

Posted by: Jay at November 4, 2008 2:30 PM

My friend and I have long had a theory that Kate Winslet is absolutely gorgeous, but could not take photos that showed it. I'm excited that she looks so hot, but sad that her hair is not red.

True story: I am allergic to mosquitoes. I don't just get a little itchy bump folks. I get an angry red welt that shows you exactly where the mosquito juice has gone in my body. After that dies down, I get a gigantic, hot, throbbing bump about four to five inches in diameter.

About a month ago, I moved to Florida (yay promotions!). I may be an idiot...

Posted by: Blonde Savant at November 4, 2008 2:35 PM

That's what the Florida red ants always did to me, but the mosquito welts don't look pretty on me either.

Remember, Citronella and Skin-So-Soft!

Kate Winslet was responsible for my first uncomfortable "boner with the parents" episode during a viewing of Titanic way back in my prepubescent days.

Baby Stoat in 2012.

Posted by: Becky Tri-Tip Goddess at November 4, 2008 3:29 PM

I was struck by how odd Kate looks in that spread too, but the shoot is a deliberate homage to Catherine Deneuve, so I think that makes it o.k.

Posted by: DarthCorleone at November 4, 2008 3:37 PM

I am allergic to skeeter bites too. I happen to live in the one part of the greater phoenix area where they are everywhere (tempe, in a neighborhood with actual grass and plants) and this whole fall I have been getting approximately two or three new bites a day. Hence my willingness to sell my soul McSatan to see the entire species destroyed.

Well, you got your baby-killing socialist for president. Do I just sign my paycheck over to the government now....or will they take it all by direct deposit.

Posted by: grumpyoldman at November 5, 2008 8:28 AM

Well, you got your baby-killing socialist for president.

Posted by: grumpyoldman at November 5, 2008 8:28 AM

No comment necessary other than to point out how some people totally self-select appropriate screen names...oh, and in case you ever start thinking that "grumpy" has lost its sex appeal you might want to consider "dyspeptic" or "forlorn" or the simple-but-chic "sad".

As the resident Pole I felt obligated to speak up...

Sorry, I got nothing.
