It takes 150k to look that dumb.

Off the top of my head: Irreversible, Last Temptation of Christ, The Exorcist, Caligula, Dogma, Kids, Farhenheit 9/11.

Those zombies are just a touch too active for my tastes, but whatever, it's all in good fun.

Would have been hilarious to see them run up on some unsuspecting tourists.

I remember the prison wine thing from The Sneeze a few years ago. It still makes my stomach turn.

On a very tenuously related note to today's Love I'm pretty sure The Sneeze voted "The Shatner" as the name for Steeve's toilet...

BEST TOILET NAME EVER.

Posted by: Allingsworth at October 22, 2008 12:36 PM

Man, almost makes me wish I was a real zombie - I mean, what better opportunity to step out of the shadows and mingle with your meal(s)? Everyone would think it was part of the show, taking pictures and laughing...

Controversial?

You want Ken Park.
or The Doom Generation.

Posted by: Ed at October 22, 2008 12:42 PM

The slutty blonde one with the fake knockers from "The Hills"

Wait, isn't that ALL of them?

Posted by: Gabs at October 22, 2008 12:54 PM

Futurama: the gift that keeps on giving. How else did Mental Floss get the idea of a toilet bowl sangria recipe unless it came from Scruffy?

"Prison ain't so bad. You can make sangria in the terlet. Course, it's shanked or be shanked." That Scruffy sure has a way with words, don't he?

Posted by: Robert at October 22, 2008 1:07 PM

I know they're kind of "big/obvious" ones, but both Rosemary's Baby and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974, please, as if there was any other) were highly controversial when they were released. And don't forget about Triumph of the Will and Un Chien Andalou.

P.S. I thought the exact same thing about those "flavor-dipped" "sandwiches". Yeurgh.

Now, who can I kill so I can go to prison and make me some Pruno?

Posted by: Anna von Beaverplatz at October 22, 2008 1:17 PM

"Harold and Maude" is a nice controversial film. There's nothing like repeated attempted suicide in front of your blind dates and sex with an 80 old woman while blowing bubbles.

Posted by: BWeaves at October 22, 2008 2:03 PM

I like all the blood on the camera lens.

It's that time of the week where I make a confession that will probably put me at odds with some Pajibans:

I TOTALLY don't get the whole zombie thing. Seriously, people. Zombies?

And spare me the "well, you like Emo Vader, and he acts like a zombie", to which someone will DEFINITELY say, "don't compare zombies with Emo Vader! They can say their lines with ten times more emotion than that dude," to which I'll say, "leave my future husband aloooone!" and that's when dylanj will jump in and say something like "what, too much of a sissy to fight your own battles Optimus?" and my cyber-love will say "I am man enough to let my woman speak her mind; that's what she loves about me, am I right cara mia?" and I'll finish by saying "You're damn right, corazón!"

So yeah, I don't like zombies.

Posted by: Sofía at October 22, 2008 2:18 PM

I had no idea that so many zombies loved wearing hoodies.

Controversial Films:
Party Monster
Requiem For a Dream

Both of these films make me nauseous.

i don't know if you knew this, or even suspected this since I come to pajiba all the time, but I LIKE ZOMBIES (even fastmoving ones)

by the way did anybody else see somebody bodychecking that guy in the spiderman-outfit ?

have I mentioned that I miss Ann Arbor :( I have a feeling the Santa Monica zombie walk this weekend won't be as cool as the A2 zombie walks.

Posted by: s. pisaster at October 22, 2008 3:17 PM

I am very confused by this- all I can say is that Emo Vader wasn't THAT bad and the only movie that has zombies which I liked was Shaun of the Dead.

Posted by: dylanj at October 22, 2008 3:21 PM

I think I'm going to show up at UM this weekend, s.p. Try to find a friend and a couch and just enjoy. Mmmmm Blimpy Burgers, high as an elephant's eye! I must eat cow meat... *drooll*

Posted by: Optimus Rhyme at October 22, 2008 3:24 PM

Optimus - if you're still around Sunday evening I would suggest heading to the undergrad side of campus (uh...by which I mean South U.) around 6 to watch the zombies gather.

Tetsuo the Iron Man?
Ooh, or how about Spider Baby. It's AWEsome!

Posted by: king at October 22, 2008 3:46 PM

Spider Baby isn't so much controversial, as true MST3K material. It's Lon Chaney Jr.'s last movie about a bunch of inbred cannibals, and contains at least one gratuitous female in bra and panties and garter belt and high heels being chased through the woods by cannibals.

If SP's wardrobe is going to a charitable purpose after the campaign, does that mean the Reps are conceding the election? Wouldn't she need the fancy threads as VP?

Controversial movies: "The Exorcist," "The Last Temptation of Christ," "Psycho." I guess these were pretty obvious choices.

It seems to me that "flavor-dipped" needs a modifier. I would hope something had flavor, but we don't know what kind of flavor it is. It's like "quality." Some ads say theirs is a "quality product," but that doesn't tell me if it's a high quality product, etc.

And I don't get the zombie fascination, either.

Posted by: rlr260 at October 22, 2008 4:30 PM

Parissa,--Congratulations! Your post about the marathon experience was lovely. You are awesome!

Posted by: tamatha at October 22, 2008 4:59 PM

Sofia I'm so glad someone finally had the guts to say it. Zombies? Meh. I just don't get the fascination. That's why I loved Deathproof and thought Planet Terror only got going in the final action sequences.

Do I need to go back to lurking now?

Requisite Pajiba Comment Section Sex Remark:

Samantha Bee makes me feel funny in the pantal region. I would like to have a threesome with her and Beth Littleford, who breaks my heart by appearing in sad, sad corporate commercials.

Posted by: socalledonlycousins at October 22, 2008 6:57 PM

I'd absolutely be one of the jackasses legitimately screaming if I saw a group of fake zombies in NYC.

I didn't quite get the whole zombie thing until I saw a couple of good zombie movies and learned more about the history of the legend of zombies. Then I was hooked.

Chickenhawk is a 1994 documentary about homosexual pedophiles and their civil rights movement against the oppression of society. The organization they form to accomplish this liberation is NAMBLA, North American Man Boy Love Association. The whole film is just jaw dropping.
