Here’s some semi-exciting news for “Wallace and Gromit” fans — and I know damn well you’re out there, whether you’d care to admit it or not (Matineer)

A poignant tribute to a weekend that produced many a broken-hearted baseball fan. (Special Way of Being Afraid)

By the time we, as a nation, decide to get our collective thumbs out of our asses and impeach the sonofabitch, it’s gonna be too damn late. There’s only like, a year left — you know. (Liberal Avenger)

Those jerks over at QuizLaw are rubbing it in our faces that we have to work today. (QuizLaw)

Pam Anderson married Rick Salomon over the weekend, and I already blew my joke about pre-ordering the sex tape — dammit! (Yeeeah!)

Will Farrell is coming dangerously close to wearing out his welcome. He needs to find a new schtick, and soon.

re: Cityrag - Who would want to touch ANYTHING that had been... down there... on Ms. Spears? Oh, ick.

Anyway, back to lying around in my pajamas. Thank you, sweet, wonderful Columbus Day!

Why would someone be afraid to admit to being a Wallace and Gromit fan?

TK... you can take your Columbus day and put... well... somewhere naughty :P

While I whole heartedly support the impeachment and/or removal of George Bush from office, I really don't want the US to become the country whose slogan could read, 'America - Our elections may be riot free, but we impeach all of our leaders!' Our credibility is low enough as it is.

Cheeeeese. Byoootiful, wonderful cheeeeeeese. Or something like that.

Re impeachment, it absolutely won't happen now unless he's caught with a dead hooker and five kilos of coke, i.e., they have to do it. It's not politically useful now because his term is almost up -- by the time they get anything revved up, it will be over. The Republicans only impeached Clinton because it was a useful way to gut his second term. Well, that and penis envy.

I'm more interested to know if an international tribunal would have the stones to go after him as a war criminal. The primary problem is that the witnesses tend to get rounded up and "disappeared."

Posted by: socalledonlycousins at October 8, 2007 4:51 PM

. . . oh, yeah, and the fear of getting invaded or bombed if it's held in your country. And the mis-use of international sanctions and economic pressure for doing the right thing.

Posted by: socalledonlycousins at October 8, 2007 4:54 PM

the only upside to this movie is that his beige little wife wasn't cast as his love interest

Sam-T, if you're out there, thank you for capturing the superficially attractive blandness that is Christine Taylor -- truer words, etc. Just caught up on the last of the queef comment thread. Wait -- queef comment thread . . . that's not a chat room at Nerve is it?

Posted by: socalledonlycousins at October 8, 2007 5:06 PM

So called - so delighted that you concur. It pains me to think of the other blandly attractive actresses out there who could've had those roles.

Posted by: samantha t at October 8, 2007 5:55 PM

Sam-T: Or [*shudder*] they could have beefed up the female role, written some funny lines, and tried a real female actor. Lauren Ambrose is criminally underutilized, has good comic timing, and is about the same age. Ah, but she leaves an impression. Dammit!

Okay, have to go get my bar stool for MNF. Vesper #1 is crying out my name. Very sexy, it's cooing "socalled, oh socalled, I need you to drink me down all the way!"

Wash, out.

Posted by: socalledonlycousins at October 8, 2007 6:28 PM

Socalled - no, no, no. Replacing a bland actress with, say, Ambrose would upstage Stiller et al. Those dudes desperately need to keep the women-aren't-funny myth alive. Otherwise, they don't have jobs.

Why, Why, Why can't Will Ferrell make another lovely movie like "Stranger than fiction" than another crappy sports movie???
I admit Ricky Bobby or whatever it's called had it's moments. But he can be so wonderful when he plays restrained and thoughtful.
SIGH! I know, it's money.
Stupid "you" movie goers!

I love Wallace and Gromit!

I guess no one mentioned this yet, but the link from the main page is broken. It needs ".htm" added to work. But I guess if you're reading this, you figured that out. Or just clicked on the "comments" link.

Woops. All fixed.
