Pajiba Love

Today is the anniversary of The King’s death — so here is the requisite creepy tribute clip. (Deus Ex Malcontent)

I hate this show “The Pickup Artist” more than a Tabasco enema — but this review certainly is entertaining. (deadbeatJONES)

Aren’t there some laws somewhere preventing excessive cruelty to Ben Kingsley? (IDLYITW)

Find out what happened to the Nirvana “Nevermind” baby. Wait, that was a real baby? (MTV News)

If this comes true — it might end up being the suckiest version of Wonder Woman ever. (Crazy Days and Nights)

You just know this story is a preface to Fox’s new reality show, “National Baby Taseing Challenge.” (Quizlaw)

For all of you childless, 20 and 30-somethings out there — Alabama Pink fills us in to the present day state of affairs of “Sesame Street” as well as a sociological breakdown. (Whoa, Camel!)

If the awesome Mac/PC spots weren’t enough to hold you over — catch this exclusive, pre-season webisode of “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia!” (Myspace)

Because I love a happy ending, and I know you do too — I present the following clip, after the jump.

My Pajiba Curves to the Left | Death at a Funeral

Comments

The kid from the cover of Nevermind was interviewed by Rolling Stone on the 10th anniversary of the original album release. MTVNews still exists? I am surprised at that, but then again, I quit MTV like a bad habit years ago, right after the Las Vegas season on Real World.

Wow, I really did likedted it. Double post!

Katie Holmes as Wonder Woman? Wow, I may have to pull Jessica Alba as my vote for 'worst WW ever'.

The movie was doomed to fail the moment Joss Whedon was pulled.

WTF?! I didn't even click the button twice.

Posted by: twig at August 16, 2007 4:21 PM

Oh, God. My office has blocked Youtube!! Sweat Jesus on a Sandwich, this is a disaster.

But now I have an excuse for not watching Litely's videos, other than "they burn my eyes."

Posted by: TK at August 16, 2007 4:28 PM

Based on Joss Whedon's description of the dipshit Hollywood types he dealt with trying to plot Wonder Woman, casting Katie Holmes won't be a surprise. They will find a way to fuck this up, and casting a non-vibrant, physically-unimposing, super-mediocre "star" to play vibrant, eye-hurtingly-beautiful, super-fantastical Wonder Woman is the primary off-ramp to Fuckupville. Bwuh.

And speaking of Firefly alums (weren't we?), Alan FREAKING Tudyck (eat it, MAx) has another new movie coming out tomorrow, Death at a Funeral, which is receiving pretty solid advance reviews. This is on top of his recent appearances in Knocked Up and 3:10 to Yuma. Who the hell knew Alan Tudyck would be the Gene Hackman of Firefly?

And litely, who doesn't love a happy ending, you little minx?

Posted by: socalledonlycousins at August 16, 2007 4:30 PM

I don't think I realized just how much I missed "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" until I watched that webisode. I can't wait until September 13th! At least the DVD comes out on the 4th to hold me over.

WHATCHU RUNNIN FROM? WHATCHU RUNNIN FROM? YOU DON'T TAKE ME NOWHERE NO MORE!

You just know Joey Greco is trying not to laugh when he introduces this clip. Awesome.

Posted by: em at August 16, 2007 4:44 PM

Well, TK -- that's a shame for you, because today's clip features Maggie Gyllenhaal making out with Sienna Miller set to the music of Rilo Kiley.

Ha, socialled -- I was going to put a disclaimer that said, "No, not that kind you pervs," and then I thought, "No, let them think it's that kind."

Posted by: litelysalted at August 16, 2007 4:49 PM

Dammit, socalled, THERE IS NO 'C' IN TUDYK!!!!

THAT IS SO A PADDLIN'!!!!

Anyone who seriously believes a man who calls himself "Mystery" with a straight face is some sort of Casanova deserves the shame from that show. No forgiveness.

Alex my darling, I hope you are able to enjoy the majesty that is Cheaters up there. That is only a fraction of the craziness that show has.

LS, I was sitting here, believing that you enjoyed the clean version of "happy ending". But you had to go and ruin it, didn't you? It is like my momma told me: the cutesy ones are the ones that have the freakiness in 'em.

Posted by: Vermillion at August 16, 2007 5:04 PM

Crap, I don't know what the hell is wrong with me. And Alan is going to kill me when he finds out, he's very sensitive about that.

Okay, to compensate, here is some valuable knowledge: Alan Tudyk has his own website, called "Who's Flying This Thing?," at alantudyk dot net. It's not that exciting, though.

Posted by: socalledonlycousins at August 16, 2007 6:19 PM

LS, you dirty little liar. But then again, thank you for putting that image in my head. I will carry it with me always. Although I might substitute Jenny Lewis for Sienna Miller.

Um... I need some alone time now.

Posted by: TK at August 16, 2007 6:47 PM

Wow...I don't even know what to comment on. Everything is just so messed up in this particular post, from that really craptastic Elvis tribute (complete with someone explaining to Deus Ex Malcontent why *he* will never go down through history), to Katie Holmes trying to replace Linda Freaking Carter, to this guy who has HORRIBLE taste in women (but he liketed them).

I think I'm just going to give up on the human race until Monday. I'll be under the covers with some carrot cake and the P&P miniseries.

Posted by: zambonigirl at August 16, 2007 7:41 PM

P&P miniseries?

Posted by: Brian at August 16, 2007 9:05 PM

P&P miniseries!
Oh yes, I know of what you speak, zambonigirl!
The cure for all that ails - and carrot cake too.
Ah yes, I don't likedted, I loveted.

P.S. Brian - click the link to find out what the P&P miniseries is -

Posted by: jen310 at August 17, 2007 1:04 AM

Sorry about that, Brian.
It won't let me link to Ranlyt's review of "Becoming Jane" from a week ago so just scroll down on the Pajiba home page, read Ranlyt's review and discover what the P&P miniseries is.
Yeah, you have to work for it.

Posted by: jen310 at August 17, 2007 1:09 AM

Okay, apologies all around.
Ranylt, I mispelled your name twice.
Brian, I mispelled Ranylt's name.
It's late and I had too many vodka lemonades tonight.
I'm gonna stop typing now.

Posted by: jen310 at August 17, 2007 1:16 AM

I misspelled 'mispelled' last post.
I'm done.
Goodnight.

Posted by: jen310 at August 17, 2007 1:20 AM

Proof that I'm spending too much time on Pajiba: I get addressed in a comments section before even posting. Awesome.

And yes, Vermillion Cheaters has made my day that much brighter. So much so that I'm considering importing the DVDs. Thanks Litely you've made a young girl very happy!

Also: it really upsets me that whenever I see Alan Tudyk in something and get really excited about it and I try and explain who he is to my friends who he is and I'm met with stony, uncomprehending silence until I eventually roll my eyes and say "He's Steve the Pirate".

Sigh.

I need friends who will actually sit through Firefly, I'm working on them though. I caught one of my flatmates digging out my Angel season 2 VHS tapes and actually reconnecting our video player so that she could watch them. Firefly is just around the corner.

Katie Holmes as Wonder Woman = blasphemy. Seriously, I feel so strongly about this that I'm now reconsidering my costume choice for my Superhero themed office party. Dark Phoenix it is then!

Aaaand... cue Vermillion's head exploding.

Posted by: TK at August 17, 2007 8:17 AM

*BOOM*

Posted by: Vermillion at August 17, 2007 9:13 AM

You know I don't actually do this deliberately, Right? I feel bad now for literally being a danger to that boy's health.

Anyway, I couldn't be my very first choice because apparently nobody knows who the Silk Spectre is... oh god, I'm just making things worse now aren't I?

If anyone needs me I'll be sitting quietly in the corner.

Posted by: Alex the Odd at August 17, 2007 9:21 AM

Ah, finally got myself back together. I wish Alex wouldn't do stuff like that to me. Hey, I wonder if anyone posted anything new.

*reads latest comment*

Oh, crap. *BOOM*

Posted by: Vermillion at August 17, 2007 10:33 AM

I went back to Connie's. We talked for a day and a half. We had sex. We talked some more...

I just pissed a little bit i laughed so hard at that point.

Posted by: PissBoy at August 17, 2007 10:43 AM

P&P=Pride and Prejudice. The A&E miniseries vs. the newer film that came out last year, I think. I haven't seen that one still, and I doubt I will. Not snobbery, really, I just don't want the story condensed.

Aaaaaaaaaand, yeah, Colin Firth.

Carrot Cake=vegetables. Kind of.

Posted by: zambonigirl at August 17, 2007 1:26 PM

Alex the Odd: You won't fuckin' believe this. I had to go to a SuperHero themed benefit last year and I went as Dark Phoenix (mostly cos I really wanted to wear a fabulous long red-head wig). Seriously, the brain-merging must stop!

Posted by: PaddyDog at August 17, 2007 1:30 PM

Hold. The Fuck. Up.

There are two women talking about wearing Dark Phoenix costumes?

*TK's head explodes*

Posted by: TK at August 17, 2007 2:06 PM

I have one word for you PaddyDog and the word is: Spookay.

TK's head exploding (dirty!) is a feat indeed and I am mightily impressed with us.

Posted by: Alex the Odd at August 17, 2007 5:55 PM

Whoa, that is not what I meant!

Posted by: TK at August 18, 2007 12:59 AM

Funnily enough, that IS what I meant.

Let's just say, my lower horn won't be going to Omicron Persei 8 anytime soon.

Guess who constantly watches late-night Futurama?
