Commemorating Many Years of Dead Rainbows

Since I quite enjoyed starting yesterday’s installment with false rumors, let’s continue that trend. Word on the virtual street is that Katherine Heigl (who’s really 31 years old) is celebrating her 40th birthday. This seems rather cruel until one checks out her hairdo in these photos. (Yeeeah!)

Whoa, Jaden Smith’s parents must really encourage the method-acting concept… seeing as their son currently plays a kid who gets his ass repeatedly handed to him. (Film Drunk)

The mystery of Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP-mandated “friendship divorce” has likely been solved, so at least we know what the voodoo dolls look like within this mutually-aggrandizing ex-relationship. (Celebitchy)

Here’s a preview of the upcoming first look at Tangled, the latest movie from Walt Disney Animation Studios. (/Film)

Tim Burton is pondering the Monsterpocalypse project. Ten bucks that Burton’s just waiting on a call from Johnny Depp before making the decision. (Screen Junkies)

This is just so wrong that it should be outlawed on principle, but Golden Girls: An XXX MILF Parody now has a trailer. (Seriously? OMG! WTF?)

Unnecessary sequels are a necessary evil of Hollywood, but, surely, there are no possibilities of Titanic sequel, right? (Agent Bedhead)

One of Kanye West’s pimped-out luxury vehicles was stolen and totaled. Why won’t u people let Kanye be great??? (Pop on the Pop)

Hey, iPad suckers. You’ll be none too pleased with AT&T’s major security breach that potentially exposed confidential information from 114,000 user accounts. The kicker here is that the breach was discovered by Goatse Security. (Gawker)

Jennifer Aniston has reportedly signed on for a comic-murder flick. The role would require Jen to break a nail while masturbating. Damn, I hate it when that happens. (Page Six)

8 Actors Who Haven’t been Shortlisted for a Superhero Role (but, allegedly, should be): Jon Hamm? C’mon. (Movieline)

In other “Mad Men”-related happenings, January Jones does the Walk of Shame at 10:30 am (wearing the previous night’s dress) following a wild oceanic night out. (WWTDD)

Finally, we’ve arrived at today’s semi-viral video. Ice Cube and The Roots did a live version of NWA’s “Straight Outta Compton” with Kirk Douglas (sorry, not that one) pinch hitting for Eazy-E. It’s not only a reminder of what rap music used to be but may cause culture shock amongst those who only know the Cube from his dreadful movies: (TwitVid)

Jon Hamm was robbed of Green Lantern.

*dreams of tights*

Posted by: figgy at June 10, 2010 1:10 PM

Never dispagare Jon Hamm. I, for one would be more than happy to see him in spandex. In all actuality, everything would be better with more Jon Hamm (and I'm anxiously awaiting the opening of a "Hamm and Buble" restaurant in my city!)

Posted by: SugarKane at June 10, 2010 1:12 PM

With Jon Hamm as Green Lantern, I would still be dreaming of the business suit. The classics never die.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at June 10, 2010 1:14 PM

That was amazing. Kirk Douglas ripped that shit apart in Eazy's place and even sounded like him. I loved the little hesitations in the beat and Questlove anchoring the entire production, as usual.

One other thought: Wouldn't the Golden Girls parody be a GILF production? Calling them MILFs is gracious but ultimately misguided because those funny broads were OLD.

Posted by: Kballs at June 10, 2010 1:20 PM

The thought of Jon Hamm in spandex is enough to send shivers down the spine of any man, woman, child, or beast. They probably don't want to deal with that amount of hotness possibly busting projectors or something.

DAAAAAAAAAMN!!!! THIS IS SOME GONE IN SIXTY SECOND'S SHIT!

I was gonna go with

IMA LET YOU FINISH, BUT THIS IS SOME FAST AND FURIOUS SHIT!!!

But yours works better.

"Jennifer Aniston has reportedly signed on for a comic-murder flick. The role would require Jen to break a nail while masturbating."

If that's on camera, rather than implied, I'm in.

Posted by: Groundloop at June 10, 2010 1:49 PM

The NWA bit was effing sweeeeeet. Makes me miss Eazy. Pretty sure he's in heaven right now thinking up ways to put us out of Ice Cube's misery. Kirk was almost spot on too. Kinda creepy.

Hey Mr. Dopeman, you think you're slick. Sold crack to my sister and now she's sick.
And if she happens to die because of your drugs...I'm puttin gin your culo a .38 slug.

Posted by: PissBoy at June 10, 2010 1:51 PM

Straight outta Compton
Crazy motherfucker named Ice Cube
From the gang called Niggaz With Attitudes

Damn I miss the 80s.

Posted by: MM at June 10, 2010 1:56 PM

The Roots just made a Tuba gansta.

That. Just. Happened.

Posted by: D-Day at June 10, 2010 1:59 PM

Aw, PissBoy, let's just quote NWA lyrics all day. My personal favorite random rhyme ever:

Movin' like a tortoise
Full of rigor mortis

Posted by: MM at June 10, 2010 2:03 PM

Um… probably the wrong question but I'm assuming that masturbation scene involves some hardware because otherwise, what the hell is there in the area to break a nail on? I totally had a full body shudder when I read that just contemplating it.

Posted by: Intern Rusty at June 10, 2010 2:03 PM

Jon Hamm would've made the best Captain America

Posted by: kabzsaba at June 10, 2010 2:04 PM

I've never been much for rap, but that was straight-up fly, yo.

Posted by: Rykker at June 10, 2010 2:05 PM

I think I got it. Ryan Gosling is hated by Movieline because he's a talented young actor that chooses challenging roles rather than signing onto every shit frat comedy and action film that gets tossed his way. Because obviously, having the power this early in your career to choose good film roles means you're a pompous ass.

Just for that, I hope if he does sign onto a superhero film, it's Rex Libris: The Kick-Ass Librarian. That'll settle their hash.

Posted by: Robert at June 10, 2010 2:09 PM

Where you from, son?

OOOOOoaaaaklan.

Huh!

Posted by: replica at June 10, 2010 2:09 PM

@ Robert

"Rex Libris: The Kick-Ass Librarian"

That's easily the best thing I've heard this week. I'd watch that movie. (With or without Ryan Gosling, but preferably with.)

(P.S. Didn't they try to make that movie with Noah Wyle? No, just NO.)

Posted by: MM at June 10, 2010 2:18 PM

Chris Pine plays James Tiberius Kirk. Kirk is a fucking superhero, bitches.

Posted by: The Kilted Yaksman at June 10, 2010 2:20 PM

I'm now looking forward to a Roots/Too Short Blow Job Betty collaboration. I think we all are.

Posted by: logar at June 10, 2010 2:23 PM

Good lord Heigl looks like she's just announced she's going to eat all of the babies at an orphanage in that title pic.

Posted by: frobme at June 10, 2010 2:35 PM

That Roots/NWA clip was perfect! And Kirk was damn near close to Eazy's flow.

And I gotta go with:

"They put up my picture with silence
Cuz my identity by itself causes violence"

Posted by: Fredo at June 10, 2010 2:36 PM

Okay, I take it back....

You can show more pics of the Human Centipede...

Just please....

For the love of all that is holy...

Take that pic of Heigl away. She looks like she just gave The Joker a hummer and OD'd on his toxic splooge.

The mystery of Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP-mandated “friendship divorce” has likely been solved, so at least we know what the voodoo dolls look like within this mutually-aggrandizing ex-relationship.

I did not understand a word of that. And that makes me happy.

Posted by: EricD at June 10, 2010 3:09 PM

i love you iPad. Never leave me. Even if the world things I'm a sucker for buying you right when you came out, I don't care. They don't know the depth of our love. It's a love that dare not speak its name.

Remember how the other night I slid you out of your protective cover, just so you could smell some fresh air? And then I tried to get you drunk, but then I realized you and liquids don't mix so well? That was so lol.

You and me, iPad. Let's stay together.

Posted by: stopthemadness at June 10, 2010 3:26 PM

MM, I remember reading about a Rex Libris film a while back, but I'm pretty sure it fell through. I just don't see it ever working in a satisfying way outside of a comic. It's just a bit too episodic and best in short bursts. The same can be said for most of the series over at SLG (not a bad thing, either), and thankfully, most people just don't know what that is.

Posted by: Robert at June 10, 2010 4:23 PM

NWA and Public Enemy schooled all of us back in the day.
I miss E. I miss Cube even more.

Posted by: Spender at June 10, 2010 4:47 PM

Robert, I have no idea you were referencing something that exists. I just thought "Rex Libris: The Kick-Ass Librarian" was the perfect name for something awesome.

Posted by: MM at June 10, 2010 4:58 PM

Yow. I thought that that was Kate Gosselin up there. I think that's the most insulting thing I could possibly say about Katherine Heigl at this point. Eesh.

It's Lewis Carroll's The Cheshire Hag

Posted by: D-Day at June 10, 2010 7:00 PM

Jon Hamm as a '50s-era Superman. Ponder THAT, my friends.

"Jennifer Aniston has reportedly signed on for a comic-murder flick. The role would require Jen to break a nail while masturbating."

If the movie showed her losing two rings and a wristwatch while masturbating I might be interested.

It's funny seeing her in the same pose shot from the same angle in every picture. I guess with a nose like that there really aren't too many choices. That hairdo helps prevent any recognizable profile pictures being taken too.

Posted by: OscarTamerz at June 10, 2010 9:03 PM

I'm not really one for rap but that was a reallllllyyy cool clip.

Posted by: dene at June 11, 2010 12:13 AM

Also, EricD, I thought the same exact thing. Then i clicked on the link, read it, and really gained nothing.

Posted by: dene at June 11, 2010 12:14 AM

Mommy, mommy, that picture up there gave me nightmares. Please make it go away.
