I tried my best to avoid this video like supercrabs (no offense, they're good, but I really wish everyone would stop telling me how great Weezer is). Then I watched, and I actually sort of liked it. There, I said it. I liked it.

I had so much to say, a very elegant piece really. It was to be my masterpiece. A confluence of intelligence, wisdom, and yes, a little godlike omnipresence. It was as if the sum total of all humanity came together and spoke these words. Holy men and scientists alike would have been awed by the universal truth my words would have sang. It would have ended wars, solved the energy crisis, and brought mankind into a new era of perfection.

The very definition of our existence was to flow from my unworthy form, into this machine, and onto the screen for all of creation to witness in awe.

But it all went out the fucking window when I processed these words:

I wouldn't punch you in the ovaries, Dangle! It's just one of those bands that EVERYONE hypes up. It's kind of like how Sarina is with pies. There are just some bands I don't believe in (Weezer, the White Stripes, Ok Go). Hyping it up more won't make me change my mind, although there is the rare exception, such as Pork and Beans, which I must admit, I do like.

I hear you, Jeremy. It's not that I hate Weezer, but I haven't bought any of their albums since their blue s/t, and I've had no interest in them ever since. And don't get me started on that "Beverly Hills" bullshit.

So when everyone is saying how great this Weezer video is, I'm supposed to care why? Oh right, because it's awesome. The song isn't bad, either.

twig I whole-heartedly agree with you w/r/t OK Go being the shit but something tells me our opinions will not help Jeremy's perception. Hell, if I hadn't gotten in on them back in 2003 and instead just heard about them when that treadmill video blew up, I'd probably be annoyed by them too.

That Weezer video is cute though, and I wasn't aware that Rivers Cuomo was ever anything approaching sane.

Can't claim to be a diehard Weezer fan (I probably only know the singles), but when a friend sent me the link I just had to share.
I loved the warm fuzzy feeling it imbued me with.

As it turns out, I clearly need to spend more time on the internet. A quick google revealed that I had only recognised about a third of the youtube references in there. Sorry K-Fed!

Pinkerton and the Blue Album are where it's at, but that video is pretty cute. Although I have to say... typically I find Rivers Cuomo attractive. I typically find mustaches/facial hair attractive as well. But... well... he's totally rocking the pedophile look in that video.
