Pajiba Love

Chevy Chase drags out the abused-as-a-child card in an effort to jumpstart his career. Dumbass. (ASL)

And speaking of blondes, what the hell has happened to the once-prestigious Cannes Film Festival? (Celebitchy)

Our boy, Chez, unleashes his fury. The topic: The VT shootings and NBC’s decision to release those images. (Deus Ex Malcontent)

Legally Blonde: The Musical has me questioning the sanity of EvilT a little bit. The exclamation quotient seems a little disproportionate to the topic. (Evil Beet)

That Dustin Diamond is just classing up VH1 these days, eh? (Litely Salted)

And Sharon Stone is classing up the prom. (Celebslam)

Jonathan Safran Foer scoffs at your right to own a gun. And I’m all right with that. (QuizLaw)

The end goal here at Pajiba — the ultimate achievement, that is — is to be quoted out of context by a studio in an advert someday. Gelf magazine runs a pretty sweet weekly feature on misleading critical praise. Do check it out. (Gelf Magazine)

How cool is Joseph Gordon-Levitt? The answer in video format, after the jump.

Haha.

"Fellini"

Wow, Chevy Chase titled his biography "I'm Chevy Chase... And You're Not. That sure comes out of left field. I guess Pretentious Asshole is being reserved for Jerry Seinfeld. (Kidding!) (Sortof!) In addition, I physically recoiled when I saw that closeup photo of Chevy Chase.

Those two paparazzos took that rope Joseph Gordon-Levitt gave them, tied it into a noose, asked him what exactly they should tie it to, and gleefully jumped off the ledge. What a couple of idiots.

ah. Foer and Levitt show the world again why they are my two favorite people.

Where is the Chuck Palahniuk quote headlining Chez's VaTech post from?

Posted by: Brian at April 23, 2007 6:44 PM

litelysalted, just so you know, "I'm Chevy Chase and You're Not" was Chevy's sign-off on SNL's Weekend Update in the 70's. Admittedly egotistical, but at least it has some relevance. I do miss the Chevy of Caddyshack, though... he's so sad now.

Posted by: Jen at April 23, 2007 6:55 PM

Brian, it's from Chuck's book Survivor.

Posted by: Andy at April 23, 2007 6:57 PM

Jen... I do know that. I was being sarcastic. ;)

I believe he was also photographed back in the day wearing t-shirts with the same slogan. The most surprising thing about that title is that he hasn't already written a book about himself called that.

I don't know about anybody else, but when I heard that X-Men 3 was one of the films shown at Cannes, any respectability it had was gone.

Wait, Legally Blonde the musical?
Oh God, tell me that's a joke.

I love that A) he knew -- without a missing a beat -- the answer was "Fellini" and B) that he managed to turn their petulance against them, and came out the good guy. He was polite (yet persistent) and, in the end, seemed to have won them over.
I knew I liked him. Now I know why.

Levitt: Fellini

Papparazzo: Who?

Classic.

I agree with Chez. I haven't watched that video for exactly the reasons he states in his rant. I'm not of the opinion that gunning down innocent people somehow makes you worthy of fame.

Also, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, talented, witty, intelligent, and so so pretty to boot. Is there a down side? I'm not seeing one.

Well, you kill his girl, and he'll run you into a pole.

"Well, you kill his girl, and he'll run you into a pole."

And how is that a bad thing, exactly?

Posted by: isabelle at April 24, 2007 2:41 PM

Wow...

Joseph Gordeon-Levitt is officially my hero.

Posted by: KatyBelle at April 24, 2007 2:47 PM

I love how "Matt" the paparazzo tells everyone he was taking the photos of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his friend, then giving them imaginary captions in his head to fulfill his own gay fantasies. Oh my. What a weirdo. Then "Henry" the other paparazzo gets all indignant when Matt assumes J G-L was gay, like Henry's the moral police or something. As if Henry wasn't standing right next to Matt taking the same invasive photographs.

I also love that even though I can't see Mr. G-L once in the video, I am still squeeing at the sound of his voice. He's so cute! And his friend's not too bad either.
