Pajiba Love

How goddamn annoying is the Observer’s coverage of “Wuz” girls? And listen here, Hillary Frey: Parker Posey will always be an “It” girl. (NYO)

There’s too much goodness here. My head is … it’s spinning. “This man won’t even buy you some shrimp from Long John Silver’s, but he’ll get you a mouthful of semen … a rectum full of semen … a side of penis.” (Feministing)

And after you click on that link, and realize that all penises are not created equally, maybe some of you will find some enlightenment in this vibrator-replacement therapy. (Celebitchy)

Sometimes, an anchorwoman just has to say, screw it. We’re done here. (Jossip)

Here’s a German TV spot for Spider-Man 3, just because. (Popoholic)

“Where better to find people dumb enough to believe in George Bush than Pat Robertson’s law school?” (QuizLaw) Oh, and the Supremes begin the slow erosion of legalized abortion. (QuizLaw)

For those of you in offices, missing out on gawdawful daytime television, I give you the greatest words ever spoken. “You are not the father.” The trashy Mauryness after the jump.

Oh, damn you, Maury Povich, for bringing out the trash-TV lover in me. (Although, I like "Cheaters" a bit more. Going to my corner now).

I don't even want to get started on the Supreme Court right now. I'll leave it at that.

That NYO article was a load of crap. Ugh.

I don't ever want to see Danes put in the same category as Posey and Sevigny again.

Fucking youtube is beginning it's slow yet inexorable descent into oblivion. There's barely anything left anymore.

I'm sure those were very good videos.

Balls.

If you want to see only positive video and not the dank dark oblivian that YouTube has become, you have but to come visit me!

OK, it is really goofy and doesn't have a lot of bling, but who cares!?

Is that the official dance for when you get that news, or just a spontaneous reaction?

How did the Supremes begin the slow erosion? The Supremes didn't pass the Partial Birth Abortion ban. That bill was passed by the House and Senate. And the reps who passed the bill were elected by the citizens of America.

So to the extent this is an erosion of legalized abortion -- and that's an arguable point -- it seems to me that the erosion began with the US populace.

I agree with Samantha, Danes should never be placed in such esteemed company. Never been a fan of whiny angsty acting. As for Parker she will be, forever, the definition of cool.

(Although, I like "Cheaters" a bit more. Going to my corner now).

Don't go into your corner, em! Have a drink with me, and we can watch and dish on the show together. Damn compelling TV, is what I say.

HAH! That dance was something else. There's something deliciously trashtastic about Maury that makes me love it (shamefully so, of course).

And that article was crap. Parker Posey is leagues above the other women, especially Claire Danes.

Interesting you followed up the abortion ruling with a Maury Povich video. VERY interesting....

I am glad you recognize the absolute trashy wonderfulness that comes from hearing "You are not the father." Really, that is all anyone watches his show for anyway. I think Schadenfraude is the German title of the show.

The only time those words don't bring me rapid mirth is when the guy being tested actually wants to be the father; at those times, it is heartbreaking. Good thing they are far and few between.

I love how the girl said she was "5000 percent" sure. Good God, it has to be wrong to enjoy this so much. And Brian, it may not be the 'official' dance, but it should be.

1. Love the spontaneous dance party that breaks out in the crowd after Maury's announcement. It reminded me of the R. Kelly episode of The Boondocks (which still makes me laugh hysterically even after a half dozen-plus viewings).

2. Can someone please tell me what the Jossip video was? It's down now, but from the description on their site it sounded awesome.

Parker Posey confuses me... there's something spookily familiar about her (and no it's not because she's "like on the TV and stuff" I had this feeling the first time I became aware of her) and it freaks me out. How odd.

There's a dearth of decent TV shows of the DNA testing calibre over on this side of the pond - we just have to make do with Jeremy Kyle (who every sane thinking person worships without question) and Trisha.

I'm considering emigrating.

Hee! Thanks Daphne! Alcohol AND "Cheaters"...now that would be great! My local TV station has been showing some newer episodes lately (or, they are older and I just haven't seen them yet). Apparently it's gone all high-tech, and there are now running commentaries from the Cheaters detectives. I just really wanna see what Gomez looks like.

Sometimes I really miss working second shift. Sigh.

I just received a myspace bulletin from a girl I knew growing up, titled "Way to go Supreme Court!" The inside was an article (very poorly self-edited to only relfect the pro-life opinions) followed by an illustration of a fetus getting aborted.

Pajibans. Would you delete this person from your friends list? The button is right there at the bottom of the bulletin. I don't want to start anything.... but... Ugh.

The erosion of abortion rights did NOT start with the general US populace. It started when evangelical lunatics hijacked the Republican party years ago.
Most (if not all) ardent pro-lifers are uneducated and uninformed about proper birth control, sex ed and women's health. Why are there not any new innovations in birth control? Why is the government paying for abstinence programs?
Volunteer at the few abortion clinics left; you will find caring compassionate people helping women who have traveled many miles who had to lie to friends and family about their situation.
When it comes to women's health, we are still in the dark ages.
