The results of yesterday’s “Five Songs” post only confirmed the obvious: Pajiba readers are the coolest in the blogosphere. The top five name checks after the jump.

Culling through all of the comments, here were the top five artists that showed up randomly in your lists.

1. The Beatles (no surprise, given the huge catalog).

2. David Bowie

3. Wilco/Uncle Tupelo (what, no Son Volt?).

4. Elliot Smith (he never got his due in life, but he sure as hell does here. You guys rock.)

5. Red Hot Chili Peppers — (but no Mother’s Milk tracks).

And the next in line was a veritable Zach Braff soundtrack: Modest Mouse, Sufjan Stevens, The Shins, Ryan Adams, Paul Simon / Simon and Garfunkel, The Killers (we all had our phase, huh?) and Ani.

Thanks to all of you who played. I had a lot of fun reading the lists, even all nine of yours, Brian.

Rest in peace, "Bud".

And ruining any hopes of a lesbian sex tape.....now I gotta come up with an excuse for returning two gallons of hand lotion.

I've seen pictures of Rumer before....Where do you think I got this nervous twitch from?

Who doesn't want to see Pete Doherty nude?
I, um, I just threw up in my mouth. Like a lot. I'm not kidding.

You know, if you're gonna put up a post like that, at least coordinate with me first. You know how long it took to come up with the right "random" songs so I can sound cool.

But what's not cool about Vanessa Hudgens, bitch?

Manny, I wouldn't give up on that Jett/Electra sex tape just yet. I mean, how many times has a celeb said they were 'just friends' with someone, only for it to be utter bull? If those two are just friends, then Michelle Rodriguez and Kristanna Loken (the only redeemable part about Bloodrayne) are just friends as well.

Vanessa Hudgens sings? I guessed I missed that, since I usually have the sound off when I see her. Hmmm.

Wow, a shout out. I'm honored

I did the damn iPod thing about 5 times and Sleater-Kinney never came up once. I was trying to show how awesomely cool and indie I was too.

Drat.

Come to think of it, I don't think Wilco or Uncle Tupelo came up either, even though I've got loads.

Someone lied about the lack of Mother's Milk tracks!!

Apologies if this shows up twice, I got one of those "we're moderating comments" thingies and my post hasn't showed up yet. So anyway....woot for the number of David Bowie songs on the list! Probably half of that is from me since I've got a Bowie collection that is so large that I'm sure it qualifies as a mental illness, but anyhoo. So I guess this is the time when I shamelessly pimp myself out - all you Bowie lovers (or haters) should check out the Bowie fansite that my husband and I run. We were recently briefly mentioned in Mojo Magazine. If you're cool, you'll visit it. ;-)

Wow, I can't wait till that No Impact lifestyle catches on so that every last bit of joy can be sucked out of MY life. I'll start hoarding O-C right now so I can off myself.
