Pajiba Love

Way to crash our server with your filthy, filthy childhood crushes, guys. Fear not, we’re working to get it fixed!

Oooooh!!! Zooey Deschanel has an album coming out with M. Ward and it sounds fantastic!! (Pitchfork)

Good Lord Elijah Wood is terrifying! (WIMB)

You know, it’s not everyday you see a streaker get pwned by a team mascot. And that is why God created YouTube. (Warning: video contains some mild peenage.) (ASWOBA)

Oh hey, I’m just gonna call it “Peen Monday” with a little added primetime moose knuckle. (cityrag)

More on Alvin-and-the-Chickmunks-gate. You know, cut the poor guy some slack. That’s right, David — Pajiba still loves you. (NY Observer)

Dan’s music year in review — part five! (Slowly Going Bald)

Roseanne Barr uses up the very last of her goodwill from the first five seasons of “Roseanne.” What? That was a great show. Prove me wrong. (QuizLaw)

Well, at least Cosmo will never have to worry about is coming off too “cerebral.” (Agent Bedhead)

Diet waffles are pretty much the same as regular waffles once you drown them in syrup. Ooh, or ice cream! Ice cream is good on waffles, too. (The Impulsive Buy)

Okay, I know the New Hampshire primaries were a week ago — but I just found this via ASWOBA and it’s too funny not to share, after the jump!

Peanut butter and whipped cream are the ultimate waffle topping. I dare you to try it...

I'm Mella, slowly crouching.

That video is awesome! I nominate this Eugene guy to be a correspondent for A Daily Show. That exchange with Chuck Norris was amazing.
You know, I've never seen "Walker: Texas Ranger" for many reasons, one of which I just can't buy the sight of Chuck Norris as a tough guy. He looks like the total opposite of bad-ass, like a suburban soccer dad with an awkward beard. is it just me?
Can Eugene track down McCain at some pancake house and meet Wilford Brimley????

Posted by: deitybox at January 14, 2008 3:45 PM

Roseanne was a good show. I rediscovered it this summer and watched a couple of the early seasons on Nick at Night. I liked that it was almost cheesy, but then they would end an episode in pure white trash sarcasm. Brilliant.

The hell? What happened to the "Preview Comment" button?

Posted by: TK at January 14, 2008 4:08 PM

Sorry, TK. In an effort to try to speed up the commenting, I removed the preview feature for now. We're lagging something serious, which is resulting in mini-crashes and heaps of double posts. I hope to add it back soon. -- DR

Wow, the server crashed? Who would have thought giving an excuse for a bunch of folks to post about their favorite naughty-time targets (with a nostalgia-enticing pic of Samantha Micelli) would do cause such an event?

Truly amazing, but inevitable when you think about it.

Not that anyone cares, but...
hey! i met that comedian Eugene! at a bar in brooklyn once!

he was dressed in a robin costume. like from batman and robin. he bought me a beer! he's ok in my book.

And people wonder why I hated LOTR. You try seeing one of your favorite childhood memories played out by a psychopath.

Just sayin'...

Posted by: Smokin at January 14, 2008 6:01 PM

Elijah Wood has been creeping me out since Sin City. I wouldn't be shocked if people found bones in his backyard. I still rather enjoy him, though. I like his post-LOTR career choices.
And David Cross can make as many crappy movies as he likes; he'll still be in my good books, because Arrested Development counts for a lifetime's worth of goodwill. Do you hear that, Will Arnett?
Also: yay! A Zooey Deschanel album! She's wonderful.

Posted by: Lannie at January 14, 2008 7:54 PM

Not that I have anything of substance to add, but Eugene Mirman is totally fucking awesome. So thanks for reminding me.

Also, Zooey Deschanel is way too pretty. It hurts me physically.

Hilarious video - and the music really sells it, but I think you menat owned

Is it too late for a Norris/Colbert ticket?

That was some excellent campaign footabe

Posted by: Brian at January 14, 2008 8:49 PM

1) Peanut butter & syrup on waffles is the shizitz.

2) One of my very favoritist things is to see 2 mascots beating the crap out of each other. Now my 2nd favoritist thing is a mascot taking out a streaker. (3rd is peanut butter & syrup on a waffle)

3)I met Chuck Norris once. That is one short motherfucker. I'm 5'4" and in my 2" heels I was about as tall as him. Interestingly, he's now hard to recognize with his new shiny Willy Wonka teeth.

My roomate is obsessed with Roseanne, she watches it at least once a week on DVD.
& Brian, pwned is the correct terminology. (Nerd Hat) It developed from a misspelling of 'own' on a Warcraft map and spawned from there. It can also be considered a contraction of perfect own, as in you whipped ass flawlessly. Gamers usually follow pwned with "noob" or "n00b" or you can type it out even more 1337 (leet [elite]) but oh god why would you. (/Nerd Hat)
Time to go crawl in a hole...

One of those newbs was supposed to be n00b, oops.

Posted by: The Stew at January 14, 2008 10:33 PM

Wow, ok, zeros are no good.

Posted by: The Stew at January 14, 2008 10:43 PM

I agree, David Cross is still in. AD is like a free pass for life -- why else would we forgive Will Arnett for "The Brothers Solomon" (well, the GAP ad helped)

Posted by: Finn at January 15, 2008 2:28 AM

Hmmm I personally am not a waffle fan, I've just never seen the appeal in them.

I really fucking hate Cosmo (as has been documented in the past) but I do buy it every now and then, just to feed the rage induced gastric ulcer that I hope will one day provide me with an excellent excuse to retire early (hey, you have to forward plan these things).

The covers are amusing but I can't stop being drawn to the Ashlee Simpson one. Seriously, it's freaking me out. I mean if they're going to paste her head onto a different body they could at least have hired someone who'd, you know, used a computer before. Yikes.

I'm pretty sure I could forgive Will Arnett for anything. The man is like crack to me.

Posted by: Alex the Odd at January 15, 2008 5:21 AM

Alex- I have a very complicated conspiracy theory about Cosmo (well, I have one about almost everything, actually) that involves a conservative agenda being surreptitiously promoted by using exaggeration and stereotyping to discredit women who are confident and sexual beings, under the guise of speaking on their behalf. Go ahead- I bet you can come up with more....

But that is not the reason for my post. The reason for my post is- Who the hell is Eugene Mirman and why is he not on my TV and computer screen every day?!?!!?

Posted by: Go Big Red at January 15, 2008 2:03 PM

I have loved Z Deschanel ever since she took me by the shoulders, looked me in the eye, and from underneath a halo of haircurlers pronounced that one day, I would be cool. Excluding that movie, though, I think her acting stinks. Yay for singing and being pretty!

P.S. Roseanne was an amazing show, and that Mascot/Streaker vid was gorgeous. Just gorgeous. Poetry, man.
