“Johnathon” Gosselin has sent a cease and desist to TLC to stop exploiting his family, even though he didn’t seem to mind having his family exploited while his name was, you know, still in the title of the show. (Superior Gossip)

I have NO idea what’s going on here, but James Franco has reportedly signed on for a stint on “General Hospital.” As in, the one your grandma watches. (Warming Glow)

Once again, here’s a review of last night’s “The Office,” which once again, I haven’t seen yet so I’m putting my fingers in my ears and saying LALALALA! (Hairballs)

Vince Vaughn seems to have trouble working out the nuances in the concept of “personal space.” (Agent Bedhead)

You know when cartoons get made into baby versions of the cartoon? Well here are the best and worst examples of that. (Topless Robot)

I’ve never heard of the band A Fine Frenzy, but this review of their new album “Bomb in a Birdcage” kinda makes me want to check them out. (TMITM)

For those of you keeping track, the union of Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds has officially lasted for one year now. (Celebitchy)

They’ve really upped the ante on the brain trust over at “The View,” by letting that vapid piece of shit Heidi Montag-Pratt-Whatever-Her-Name-Is guest-host. (HuffPo)

Filming has started on the new A-Team movie, and here’s a complete rundown of the new cast. (Film Drunk)

Here’s an interview with that fat sack of bloated self-righteousness, Michael Moore. (A.V. Club) Oh, and if you don’t have a job right now, he’ll let you into his new movie for free. Because he’s just an awesome guy like that. (Gordon and the Whale)

I didn’t think this story could possibly get any funnier, but Kevin Federline is supposedly preparing for “Celebrity Fit Club” by getting as fat as he possibly can. Good plan, Redneck Einstein! (DListed)

If you should ever find yourself in a zombie movie, here are some charts summarizing your survival statistics. (Screen Junkies)

Becca, a teacher from Washington State, has put together a Donors Choose project to try to raise money to buy books for her kids. So if you like books and kids, go check out her cause. (Donors Choose)

Seastar Pisaster sends in today’s clip, about a Belgian man so obsessed with penguins that he literally thinks he’s turned into a penguin. It’s kind of brilliant:

"Almost Lover" by A Fine Frenzy is quite beautiful. I recommend.

And the Muppet Babies rocked my shit.

James Franco doing a soap is my favorite news item of the week. How fucking cool do you have to be say, "You know what? fuck it. I'm a fancy Hollywood Actor who can get roles in pretty much anything I want, but I'm going to do General Hospital because my grandmother loves that show and I'm a nana's boy."

Posted by: Marra at October 2, 2009 1:16 PM

My favorite A Fine Frenzy song is "Rangers." That song just evokes some crazy-awesome imagery to me. It always makes me feel kind of magical.

"My gravestone has already been made in the shape of two penguins." That sounds like it should be in the things that have never been said thread.

I second Patty's Almost Lover lovin'. My God, if that song doesn't make you feel a little tingly on the inside, you have no soul.

"Mr Moore, can you sign my copy of Watchmen Babies? Which one of the babies is your favorite?"

Tiny Toons would win it, it's not even a contest. They have Babs you see.

Posted by: BarbadoSlim at October 2, 2009 1:34 PM

There's a new A Fine Frenzy album? This makes my whole week.

Posted by: Jeni at October 2, 2009 1:36 PM

Yippie Skippie for Muppet Babies!

Posted by: bluefalseindigo at October 2, 2009 1:37 PM

I wouldn't want Vince Vaughn to hug me, either. I ain't got issues -- I'm just pretty sure he smells like hot garbage.

Posted by: firedmyass at October 2, 2009 1:38 PM

I feel as if the new A-Team has some potential but I'm not sure about Neeson as Hannibal Smith, is he gonna play it straight Peppard gave that character a humorous slant that will surely be lost. Also, that Biel dude they cast as the general is completely wrong, they should have stuck with Lance LeGault.

Posted by: BarbadoSlim at October 2, 2009 1:40 PM

If General Hospital didn't suck so much ass, I would be excited about James Franco being on it.

Muppet Babies and Tiny Toon Adventures were my shows growing up. I even had a Tiny Toons lunchbox. Thanks to this thread, I have to go YouTube the shows now, because it's not like I'm getting any work done.

I don't care if he is overly affectionate; I love Vince Vaughn. He's such a nice man. I would hug him, too.

Patty O'Green: true dat.

Posted by: Whorish Mouth at October 2, 2009 1:56 PM

Are we not allowed to comment on the Boogeyman thread? {sniff}

Posted by: MM at October 2, 2009 2:00 PM

That Franco is certainly rising in my books. Making odd, lateral, personally motivated, non-cash-hound-y choices like that is simply hot. The fact that he doesn't appear to be doing all this in the midst of a crisis is what sells it.

An insane Franco story AND the Muppet Babies AND Donor's Choose in one post?

Well done, Stacey.

PS. I'm up to $125 donated for the Breast Cancer walk. Thanks guys!

Bruce Weitz has been hamming it up on there for awhile, it looks like he was having a great time being a bad guy. I have a feeling if it means having many many drinks late into the night with Tony Geary, it's a blast.

wait. the 's' is short for seastar? i LOVE this place!

Posted by: gp at October 2, 2009 4:20 PM

I'm in love with the Belgian penguin man. Especially with how he says "penguin."

Posted by: Snuggiepants the Deathbringer at October 2, 2009 6:07 PM

That gave me an image of a Gordon Gekko/Michael Moore point-counterpoint talk show. "Mikey, you ignorant slut. If you give them the tickets, it removes their motivation to work."

Posted by: socalledonlycousins at October 2, 2009 6:12 PM

Madd propz to TK for knowing all the lyrics.

And madd propz to figgy for the ossom-beyond-ossom idea of "Watchmen Babies" -- AHAHAHA!!!!! I think my favorite would be Baby Doctor Manhattan, all cute and blue and accidentally electrocuting all the other babies!!!

Posted by: Jelinas at October 2, 2009 8:03 PM

Please, for the love of humanity end Jon and Kate plus eight; end the horrific, evil suffering. Then maybe TLC could create the best reality show ever: The Shawshank Redemption: OJ edition.

Posted by: Corey W. at October 2, 2009 9:17 PM

Oh, yeah, Almost Lover never fails to get me all nostalgic and what-iffy. I love it!

Posted by: Cuca at October 2, 2009 10:19 PM

Oh my God, Figgy, that was fucking hilarious. And the thing about Alan Moore is, he would TOTALLY collect a paycheck for "Watchmen Babies" while bitching about the rape of his work AT THE SAME TIME.

Posted by: Craig at October 2, 2009 10:37 PM

I think my favorite would be Baby Doctor Manhattan, all cute and blue and...

mangling the baby blue anaconda as he learns to crawl...?

I 2nd, 3rd and 4th the A Fine Frenzy love. I met her in person and even messaged her on myspace and she was very polite and charming. And yeah, that son Almost Lover kills me softly every time.

And since no one has pointed out, A Fine Frenzy is not a band, just a singularly beautiful singer songwriter Alison Sudol, who took that name from a line in Shakespear play.
