This is really funny to me: at a recent lunch with leaders from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, everyone got these tiny salt and pepper shakers at the table, and Trump got regular-sized ones. Wouldn’t the tiny ones make his hands feel bigger? (Eater)

Jon Hamm spoke — we believe — for the first time about that hazing incident from his college days that resurfaced in 2015, prior to the final season of Mad Men. Recall that Hamm was acused for fairly shitty behavior — he allegedly shoved a guy’s face in dirt, set his jeans on fire, and struck him with a paddle — and as a result, his frat was shut down. “It was a bummer of a thing that happened,” Hamm told Esquire. “I was essentially acquitted. I wasn’t convicted of anything. I was caught up in a big situation, a stupid kid in a stupid situation, and it’s a fucking bummer.” (Esquire)

These 12 facts about 2001: A Space Odyssey are really interesting. I didn’t know that the book and movie were developed at the same time. (Mental Floss)

Did you vote? The 2018 #CannonBookClub book selection polls have closed, and thankfully there was no Russian interference. Join in on June 8-9, and discuss Octavia Butler’s Kindred, one of the highest rated books in CBR history. Just after Halloween, November 2-3, you can celebrate Cannonball Read’s co-founder, Alabama Pink, and discuss one of the books she reviewed in the very first Cannonball Read, Between the Bridge and the River by Craig Ferguson. You’ve got 65 and 212 days respectively, so get your hands on these books and get reading. You don’t have to be signed up for CBR10 for either of these, all are welcome. (Cannonball Read 10)
