I never anticipated saying this, but thank you to Justice Neil Gorsuch. From the bottom of my immigrant heart, thank you. Today, Judge Gorsuch sided with the other liberal Justices on the bench to strike down the provision for deporting legal immigrants for committing a “crime of violence”, which is not defined in any way. His reasoning doesn’t fall in line with the liberal justices, but it’s a small victory, and I’ll take it. (Axios)

Beychella was the best thing ever, full fucking stop. But the cherry on top of the delicious lemonade is reading this story that Bey donated 100k in scholarships to four historically black universities. (Celebitchy)

The Pee Tape OG, R. Kelly, has been accused of intentionally infecting a woman with an STD. (Dlisted)

Petr calls me a class traitor for loving Posh Spice the most, but I don’t care. She’s the best. Happy birthday to Victoria Beckham. Here she is looking gorgeous as ever. (Lainey Gossip)

On Sunday, UN Ambassador Nikki Hakey went on the Sunday morning talk shows and said the United States would enact new sanctions against Russia, specifically against companies who manufactured equipment used by Assad in the chemical attacks in Syria. She ran her remarks by the President. He approved them. She gave the remarks … and then Trump changed his mind and got pissed at Haley for making the remarks that he had approved. But instead of saying, “Hey! Putin’s my bro, and I don’t want to enact these sanctions, after all” he had his new economic advisor, Larry Kudlow, run out and say, Haley “may have been confused” and “got ahead of the curve,” to which Haley responded later, “With all due respect, I don’t get confused.” Kudlow has since apologized, saying “The policy was changed and she wasn’t told about it, so she was in a box,” which is another way of saying, “Trump can’t make up his damn mind.” (The Hill)

So, BeyoncĂ© records every minute of her waking life and has it fully digitally archived and searchable. Shades of George Beywell? What if it becomes sentient and is basically a psychotic fan? What if SkyNet doesn’t evolve from the strategic missile computer system but from BeyNet? (Twitter)

The ever lovely Vivian Kane wrote about Cover Girl partnering with Girls Who Code, to increase inclusivity of women in STEM, a fantastic partnership. (The Mary Sue). Oh, and also, Maria Bamford filed a restraining order against … Donald Trump. (The Mary Sue)

Does anyone have a stronger Lady Suit game than Evan Rachel Wood? That was rhetorical because, newp, obviously. (GFY)

After the success of Ready Player One (whyyyyyyy) Steven Spielberg is now the most successful filmmaker of all time, raking in more than $10 billion worldwide. That’s an obscene amount of money. (The Wrap)

Patrick Rothfuss is writing an official Rick and Morty Dungeons & Dragons crossover comic. Because clearly, the man is not busy enough. (Patrick Rothfuss)

We must remark upon two passings today. Barbara Bush has died at the age of 92, and Carl Kasell died at 84. We considered writing up something on Kasell, but no one is more suited than NPR, and they do a bang-up job honoring a terrific man. Also, listen to some of those answering machine messages. They are incredible. (NPR)

These celebrity photos are peak uncanny valley. (Wired)

If you need another reason to add to your dislike for James Comey, check out his Connecticut digs. Can he just please shut up already and disappear into his preposterously expensive mansion? (T&C)

This is bananas: Elon Musk doesn’t like the color yellow, so those hazard lines we’re all used to that mark safe or unsafe spaces are missing in his Fremont, California plant. As such, injuries are being misreported. All because Musk’s feng shui is out of whack. (Reveal)

Speaking of yellow, what’s your favorite butter? I’m a Kerrygold enthusiast, so this article about their history was a fun read for me. (Eater) But over the weekend, I was reading this post about butter tasting (why yes, my life is fascinating) and I’m really eager to find Bordier butter at the supermarket. (Extra Crispy)

19 Secrets of Public Librarians was disappointing in that it didn’t include any magic books, but otherwise it’s a great read. (Mental Floss)

Do you need nightmare fuel? Don’t say I didn’t warn you. (Twitter)

This is a good, difficult, heartfelt read into why it’s so hard for women to leave abusive relationships. (The Conversation)

Murderbot, a self-aware security android, wants to watch TV, read books, and not talk to humans. Emmalita has never identified with a character more. All Systems Red starts off Martha Wells’ forthcoming series, The Murderbot Diaries, with a fastpaced, darkly funny novella. "We are thrown into a future of humanity with only the information Murderbot cares to know (not much)." Who are your favorite sci-fi robots and androids? (Cannonball Read 10)
