Pajiba Love
Thank goodness for the end of the year because if there's one thing I love -- it's lists of things. So here are the most loathsome, reprehensible people of 2007. Discuss! (The Beast)
And here is a list of seven things we should pretend never happened in 2007. Did someone say Taser? (Cracked)
One final low point to cram in '07 -- Pakistan's former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated today. Sigh. (NY Times)
And now, LOL Footballz. (KSK)
New York is engaged to Tailor fucking Made?! Asphinctersayswhat?! (WIMB)
Anyone who has ever watched "Twin Peaks" can tell you that Washington state is one redonkulously fucked up place. (QuizLaw)
Fact: John Cusack did not star in American Beauty. So take that to your film class and smoke it. (Popoholic)
RUNNN! Run, level-headed South Carolinians! There's a "Christian Exodus" coming, and it's headed right for you! (Deus Ex Malcontent)
Cher and Chastity Bono are trying to get a reality show that helps gay people come out to their families. That's great and all, but wild horses couldn't get me to watch a program where I'd have to look at Cher's creepy silly putty face. (Celebitchy)
Listen here folks -- you don't need to be a hockey fan to appreciate a good hockey fight, after the jump.

That list of the most loathsome, reprehensible people of 2007 made me sick. I wish I had never read it. Who are those nasty, angry, yucky, mean, religion bashing, all hating jerks who wrote that list? Sometimes people suck. Honestly, that list sort of murdered all the warm-fuzzies I have been feeling towards life and people in the last few weeks.

"Go! Go you two, go! I wanna see it! Come on!" Damn. Is that announcer watching hockey, wrestling, or a porno?

While I agreed with most of their choices for the list, I thought the reasons they gave were way too mean-spirited. I guess that might be their gimmick, but man, it makes Pajiba look like a cat lovers website by comparison.
Still, I kind of enjoyed reading it.
And a pity about Bhutto. She wasn't a terribly successful prime minister, and she had a few stances I wouldn't agree with of course, but I'm strangely very perturbed by her assassination. It's a damn shame.

I knew nothing about hockey whatsoever until I was recently given a freelance gig writing about the penalty system.
About 80% of my research involved watching hockey fights on YouTube. Best. Assignment. Ever.
I enjoyed the list of the worst people of 2007, it made me amused and horrified in equal measure. Although: I got to Sherri Shepherd and felt the muscle cluster above my left eye begin to twitch. She's on my fucking list ya hear?

Oh I am so relieved to see some new Pajiba entries. I didn't realize how hooked I am on this site until I had to wait almost 2 whole days for new material. This is not a criticism of the Pajiba staff's taking time off. Instead, it's probably an indication that I have a short attention span and should find other things to do with my time.

Oh, Washington, my beloved home state. YOU SO CRAZY.

I'll never understand hockey. It's the only sport other than boxing where fist fighting is encouraged. That one goalie looked like a total schoolyard pussy with his white fist stuck out there like Ulyses Everett McGill. And wsup with that announcer?
And more importantly, the assasination of Bhutto makes me sad.

Bhutto = Pwned
Seriously, I won't shed a tear for her or her movement, they would have made no difference in Pakistan except rob it a little. She, and her cronies, did that the previous TWO TIMES they got their dirty oligarchic hands on governing those poor folk. It could be argued they set the stage for the extremist assholes that are running it now and wasted her sorry ass.

You're right on, Dre! I agreed with most of their choices, and some of the commentary was funny and intelligent, but DAMN, do they hate everything and everyone, or what? I'm not really a Hillary fan, but they way they were throwing around the word "slut" in her entry was extremely offensive (and then they have the balls to accuse someone else of misogony in an item further down on the list -- have some irony, it's good for your blood).
Also? Their assumption that the type of people reading their list long enough to get to #9 (which is titled "You") are the problem is silly on its face. Guess what? If someone is open-minded enough to read all the shit you've been slinging for over 1,000 words without leaving in disgust, then they're probably not "in favor of free speech, until someone says something that offends [them]". Although that openly antagonistic entry was probably enough to turn off even the most open-minded readers. What a bunch of assholes.

I thought the list was fantastic and, equally important, really well-written. Will I vote for Hillary come 2008 should she be the candidate? Absolutely - though I won't vote for her in the primaries. Do I commend her commitment to universal healthcare? Yup. Do I think she's put her time in as a corporate pawn? Yup.
Also, I loved their inclusion of the "needy" troops.

Cher is a good person. I don't care about her face.

I enjoyed the loathsome list...it was supposed to be over the top, people. Come on.
Plus, anything that recommends that Dick Cheney should be "[r]aped by the sun" is pretty much solid gold.

Anything that references Twin Peaks gets a gold star from me. So, gold star to you, Stace.
Other than that, this pretty much just made me hate the world a little bit more. Awesome.

Reading these comments makes me feel like an angry person. I loved that list and I even brought it home to show my husband, who equally enjoyed it. Hmmm, maybe some Prozak for the new year?

..wow.
"I wasn't in American Beauty."
"..what was the one with the rose petals?"
"Yeah. I wasn't in it."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"-Really!?-"
"Swear to God."
..*slow clap*

I also liked the list, even though it made me sad for humanity. I especially thought #9 was dead on. For the sake of niceties I won't comment any further.
