The CTHD description is SPOT on. Michelle Yeoh is a badass in every respect. I don't think they could have possibly cast that film any better. And the showdown between her and Jen Yu is frickin' awesomel. I love how she is able to best the young upstart through skill not weapon. Who's the master now, grasshopper?

I still don't get why you guys put up these celebrity hate links. Do people here really care about that stuff? Isn't it sort of hypocritical to feed traffic to those kinds of sites while decrying the national obsession with them? I don't even mean the "celebrity made an ass out of him/herself" stuff so much as the "h/she is butt ugly in their pajamas picking up their morning coffee" stuff. I don't know... I always feel like that doesn't really fit here.

I can understand it though, you all decided to do the daily trade roundup every day as opposed to once a week, and now you have to fill it. Makes sense.

I mean, isn't that what is wrong with the 24-hour media in general? The fact that when the new is on for 24 hours straight, then they are going to end up making the news by cramming the Halloways', Ramseys', and Nicole Smiths' of the world down our throat for hours at a time because after all, Exciting things aren't happening all the time. Only most of the time.

I guess my point is, expressed through the early vocal stylings of Jeremy Piven:

The ass-kicking heroines addendum was fabulous. What made it even greater - the author decided to make her own list on her own blog using damn compelling reasoning, rather than insulting AB. That's kick ass.

As a citizen of the world, I have to agree with others that simply calling people out for not being as good-looking as we feel they *should* be is pretty low. As a bored college student in the middle of finals, however, I say bring it on. Also, I have it on good authority that Rumer is a horrid, horrid bitch - I have buddies that went to high school with her.

And that's a nice list. I think someone should do one with TV characters as well just to see if they would remember the kick-assest heroine of all times Aeryn Sun. People keep forgetting her and that hurts.

Personally I think Jughead deserves any snarky remarks she gets, she *is* posing for a camera at a public event, after all.

Nobody expressed disdain and disgust, just a questioning of why Pajiba posts that kind of thing. I did stop clicking the links to the particularily nasty gossip sites some time ago. But I still think it's odd that the good folks of Pajiba tear movies apart for sexism and misogyny while posting links to sites that use sexist language to tear women apart for not meeting the societal beauty standard. It just doesn't seem to fit the overall tone of the site.

Roses, maybe it's because this site is contributed to by 10+ (?) critics who all have varying degrees of opinions on things, and maybe because the individual critics themselves have varying degrees of opinions on things based on their particular moods. Or maybe it's just because some celebrities are really just ugly assholes with big, giant heads who need to be taken down a notch now and then. Ever think of that?

Seconded Pixie. At least Dickinson has the balls to give us her version of the truth, however skewed and one-sided it may be.

And for the record, since no one mentioned what a travesty the Trib's list really is, I'm snarky and full of eliteism, and I LOVED Mama's Family. Phhhht.

I agree, I haven't seen her working or going to college so her goal is to be rich by being famous and when you choose that path you better be ready to be judged by the same standards as the other people who have succeeded on nothing more than their looks.

Wow, I never thought I would make it as far as Pajiba Love. Dirty, smelly love is something I am infinitely familiar with, but Pajiba love is just so much better. Thanks for linking to my addendum, and I am glad so many of you liked it.
