Pajiba Love

It's about damn time they turned the Bible into a comic book -- Jesus has gone far too long without having totally bitchin' superpowers! (Vermillion's Brain)

Tobey Maguire, now starring in... Methlab Mugshot! (QuizLaw)

Hmm... Is it true that Wes Anderson mishandles race issues in his films -- or is this just another case of somebody looking too hard for something to be offended over? (Slate)

And speaking of Wes -- you can download his short film Hotel Chevalier for free, right off of this very internet! (Popoholic)

Thank God for wikipedia and people with far too much time on their hands, or I may have never known that I allegedly live in "The Pretzel Capital of the World." (Cracked)

I never played chess or with dolls as a young lass, so the appeal of this product is totally lost on me. (Feministing)

If there are any Pajiba readers out there willing to step forward and say they feel anything less than complete adoration for Winnie Cooper Danica McKellar -- well, that's a paddlin'. (Evil Beet)

Natch, same goes for Kristen. (Celebslam)

Daniel Radcliffe says he's willing to go gay for Hollywood. Eh, or you could just click to see Daniel Radcliffe's naked bum again. (Agent Bedhead)

After the jump -- sure, maybe this is a juvenile way to make fun of Dane Cook, but it made me laugh at least two times while watching it.

Wait, we get a paddlin' for saying we adore Danica McKellar, but the link just shows how awesome she is? I'm confused!

*smacks head*

Those tricky double negs get me every. damn. time.

In summary -- Danica is a goddess. Don't agree? That's a paddlin'.

Wait... Danica McKellar... Kristen Bell... paddlin'... too... much... mental... imagery!

*kaboom!*

Fred Savage and Danica McKellar have done well for themselves post-Wonder Years ( we can rehash Savage's directing choices again later) Now if we could just get Jason "Wayne" Hervey off of that Chachi show........

Yes.

Posted by: twig at September 27, 2007 4:56 PM

yes to what, twig?

I thought Jesus already had superpowers...the whole turning water into booze thing? I mean...can you honestly think of a better superpower than that? At the moment, I really can't. I'm way too sober.

Boourns - Heroes superpower spoiler in Kristen Bell link.

'Sorry guys, but that Dane Cook thing wasn't even slightly funny...and I'd LOVE to see him get ripped a new asshole. Try again...

Posted by: case at September 27, 2007 5:50 PM

TK, noooooooooo!!!!

Look what you have done, with your Danicas and your Kristens and their hawtness! How could you be so callous?

Then again, less competition for me, so....way to go!

Slightly related to Jesus, in my religion class today we were discussing feminist theology (two great tastes that taste great together) and I now want to somehow splice together one of those "this is what a feminist looks like" shirts with a "Jesus is my homeboy" shirt so I have a shirt with Jesus on it that says "This is what a feminist looks like" because, dude was. Also, I like watching heads explode.

And Danica is a total goddess, she's what all little girls should want to be when they grow up.

hmmm. the new testament in comic book form. i wonder what the gideons think about that. btw, anybody know who the gideons are, and why they hang out in hotel rooms? and is it just me, or is anybody else flashing on "buddy jesus"?
pretzel capital of the world, eh, litely? i always suspected you were a bit twisted!

Posted by: bionic bunny at September 27, 2007 7:17 PM

is there any way to explain what the big deal is about kristen bell? i'm not doubting her awesomeness, i just don't have the faintest clue where all the cultish awe comes from, or why i should care. i would seriously like to know, i'm not being a d-bag.

Posted by: coco at September 27, 2007 7:56 PM

i think the love for kristen bell is because one person decided she was super and so everyone else thinks shes great too. i mean...shes not that great of an actress, and shes only attractive in a really bland, vanilla sort of way. its the whole ironic love dovey fixation on a celebrity sort of thing. i think this rambling is really just saying that i also have no idea why people love her.

Posted by: jimbo at September 27, 2007 8:27 PM

So, coco and jimbo, I take it you are either new here at Pajiba, or managed to avoid quite a few posts here, for you would be quite aware of the intense Veronica Mars fandom here.

Also, would you two heathens kindly walk over to that big wooden stake right over there? We in the Cult of Bell would like to immolate you for such heretical statements, and it really goes faster if you cooperate.

Posted by: Vermillion at September 27, 2007 8:40 PM

Jeez, how can anyone not like Kristen Bell? She's tiny, and sassy and (hideous taste in formal attire aside) so pretty it'll make your eyes bleed. I mean I have friends who I only really talk to because one of them bears a slight resemblence to her. True story.

Veronica Mars is sacred in my household and anyone saying a bad word about it? Well, that's a paddlin'

Now where did I put my flaming torch?

*sigh* I used to think Dane Cook was funny, but then I saw him again and he got annoying very quickly.

I never got that much out of Wes Anderson to be offended. I also never noticed how minorities were portrayed. At least he has minorities in his movies. One is hard pressed to find any in a Ron Howard movie past Night Shift and they were all hookers and pimps.

I must admit that I find her cute at best. Don't hate me, Pajibateers.

Twig - I'm with you. I do love Anderson's movies, but his treatment of race is creepy. His characters of color seem more like props to me than fully-realized characters.

Thanks for posting our dumb Dane Cook video. We appreciate it. You should really watch our other episodes though. They're much better than that one. Holy Weird - youtube it.
