Signaling the end of an era -- the Weekly World News is kaput. It's scary to think that future generations may never exalt in the glory of Bat Boy and the Loch Ness Monster. (Special Way of Being Afraid)
Catch up with everyone's favorite renaissance fair dress wearing lesbian wicca -- or, ahem -- the actress who played her. (After Ellen)
Hey people? It's just a movie. Seriously. Now calm the fuck down -- or save the vitriol for Captivity 2. (Slowly Going Bald)
Oh hey, Leonardo DiCaprio looks like an idiot on rollercoasters -- just like us regular people! (Celebslam)
And now I bring you gratuitous Cute Puppy Photos of the Day. (Feministing)
Followed by gratuitous Scary Cat Photo of the Day. (FourFour)
Gah! This is almost as frightening as the real Courtney Love! (Gallery of the Absurd)
Q: Where do responsible, level-headed parents not let their children go? A: On reality shows parodying The Lord of the Flies. Runners up? Barney's House of Broken Glass and Neverland Ranch. (QuizLaw)
Yeehaw! Listen to the new Rilo Kiley exclusively online! (Myspace)
Wow, these guys can do the same thing as my dog and all they need is access to a large body of water and motherfucking jet-skis. Human idiocy at it's finest -- after the jump.

You may look like an idiot on roller coasters but I think Leonardo looks adorable! He looks like he is having a blast. Usually people look awful but he manages to look gorgeous. So does Bar but she doesnt count since she is a model.

My crush on Amber Benson has reached dangerous levels. And I mean that in the nicest way possible. She's awesome, and the Ghosts of Albion books are actually quite good.
The death of Weekly World News is kind of a bummer. I have a friend who actually subscribes, and it leads to weekly hilarity at his house.
Rilo Kileeeeeeeey!

I did in fact, shed a tear when I read about the loss of my beloved Weekly World News last week. How will I ever know what become of Bat Boy now? I don't understand how this could happen. I mean, it has the eighth highest circulation in the whole wide world.

Via slashfilm...
"Slightly good news for those of you suffering from Veronica Mars withdrawals: No, the show has not been renewed. No, there is no movie adaptation in development. But star Kristen Bell will be making her return to the small screen as a superhero (or super-villain).
Bell has been cast for a multi-episode arc in the second season of the hit NBC television series Heroes. She will play a Elle, a character which Variety describes as "a sexy, mysterious young lady who has ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.'s past and the future of Claire." The character will first appear in the series committing a serious crime, which makes us wonder if she'll be a good guy or nasty villain. But does it really matter? One thing is for sure, we'll be watching (because, well, it's Heroes!)."

There's a reason that the Superbad comments section is one of the few that I have resolutely stayed out of.
Amber Benson really is just awesome, normally interviews have the effect of making me hate the interviewee (unless it's in Cosmo of Glamour, then I hate the interviewer) but this one really does her justice.
