I love that Sabra hummus with the pine nuts and herbs in the center so much it should be illegal.
Eliza Dushku is soooo pretty.

My version of TV hell is nothing but bad reality shows (Anything on VH1, Farmer gets a wife/ho/whatever, I'm smarter than a 5th grader, etc) with commercials for The Simple Life playing in the background.
Damn right; there is nothing wrong with Cap'n Crunch. But what's going on with the fiber cereal? It looks like rocks in a bowl.

FoTC is so awesome I want to take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant.

"Hermaphrodite lady-man ladies ..with your sexy lady bits and your sexy man bits tooooo"
I don't think it could be possible for me to love them more.

"I too am amazed that I somehow grew up without hummus and agree that Sabra is the only packaged kind worth buying".
Take that back this instant! Actually, Trader Joe's has some mom slappingly a great tomato and basil hummus, and the garlic one is darn tasty as well.

Sabra hummus is good. Marks & Spencer moroccan-style is also good, but their other types, not so much. (I saw yesterday that they now have a sweet-potato one. How is that hummus, exactly?)

Ugh, I love hummus. I could eat hummus, tabbouleh and fresh lavash every day for the rest of my life and be happy. Then again, I am Lebanese, and eating the cuisine is preeeetty much the closest I'll ever get to actually experience the culture of my grandfather. You know, because Lebanon recently exploded and all.

Homemade hummus (which includes hummus from a Moroccan or Lebanese or the like restaurant) is the only way to go.
I'm so tired of packaged hummus. (Though perhaps I'll give this Sabra a try.) I'm also tired of being fed yucky hummus/hummus sandwiches because it's such an easy option to feed vegetarians (and it's vegan)!
But real hummus, well, that's a different, delicious thing entirely. It's been far too long since I've made my own hummus (I'm partial to recipes from The Moosewood Cookbook and The Enchanted Broccoli Forest). In the past I've made it old-school style using a potato masher. I might be convinced to try a food processor, though.
Oh, and that FoTC video was awesome.

The Enchanted Broccoli Forest
That sounds like such a magical place, with frolicking green gnomes and rivers of Ranch dressing.

I had a roommate that adored Sabra hummus but always felt guilty eating it because it was so fatty, so she'd tell me to eat some too.
I miss her and her hummus-related guilt complexes.

Tribe has a really good hummos flavor called 40 Spices. And the generic stuff at Whole Foods ain't so bad.
If you're ever in the Chicago area, you simply must try Pita Inn. Best. Food. Ever.

I love FotC. This song isn't new, but the video's amazing...

There is a co-op dorm at Stanford University called the Enchanted Broccoli Forest. I didn't know much about undergrad life when I was there as a grad student, and every time I went near there someone gave me drugs, so I always forgot to ask whether the house was named after the cookbook or the other way around. Still don't know.
I agree about Sabra being the best packaged brand. They make something called Humus Masbacha which has hot sauce and whole chick peas in the middle...divine.

That Dollhouse trailer had a couple of strikes against it. Namely, the inconsistent use of font. Ugh, I mean who uses Papyrus for ANYTHING?

I hate to derail the hummus-related thread, but as much as I agree that Jack Black has out-jackassed his jackass-related appeal via mass exposure, I still cannot discount his appeal as JD McNugent in "Saving Silverman". I will forever contend that his performance in the "unrated version" is the standard by which stoner comedy will forever be judged. I know as a only a recent and sporadic Pajiba commentator I risk revocation or my rights forever from this assertion, but as witness to a grown man dampening a chair at his antics in said movie, I still think that role was tailor made for him (combined with good bud, mind you).
I know the preceding comment may preclude me from making this suggestion, but can we get a review of "The Limey" as an underappreciated gem at some point? In the comment diversion regarding quotes, I couldn't help but think of this film as having several memorable ones (not appropo to weddings, but nonetheless). Plus, Luis Guzman, Terrnace Stamp, Peter Fonda, and Leslie Ann Warren in pre-Brockovith/Oceans Soderbergh! Am I the only one that has seen this movie (3 time in the theater) and thought it was a masterpiece? I'll write the damn thing myself, for Godtopus's sake, I just want people to watch it.
McP, you are not the only one. I'll add it to my list of movies to Gem-ify. I just happen to own a copy, think it's SS's best film by far, and pat it and love it and call it George regularly. Plus it has the Ken Loach love and the Stamp, which is fierce. -- RR

Also, when in Baltimore, go to Papermoon Diner for the best hummus, sweet potato fries, and veggie cheese steaks this side of the Mississip. It may be in the ghetto, but the action figures and baby doll heads glued to the ceiling and mannequin in the bathtub/planter make it worth it (if not the food).

Mr. Candy, I'd hate hate hate to think that "The Limey" is underappreciated somewhere.
Is it? Is it really? That'd just be so wrong. So wrong that it'd be necessary to delude myself that such underappreciation doesn't exist, lest I become very sad.
HOWEVER, that would preclude getting to read a nice essay on it.
So I'll just second the notion that its horn should be tooted, it should be given a butcher's by these people I have trouble believing are out there.
But as for a cheese steak made without steak, I can't go for that. No can do.

Oh dear, I almost forgot:
Jack played a Neil Diamond tribute singer.
And then Neil Diamond actually showed up!!
The movie's justification doesn't have to go any further.
One could miscontrue that that kind of statement is meant to draw fire away from you. Hey, I'm happy to help someone out, but it's merely the truth.
Shit, how about "The Jazz Singer" getting an underappreciated writeup? Olivier, people. Olivier.

can we get a review of "The Limey" as an underappreciated gem at some point?...
While I don't think Saving Silverman can be redeemed by anything, chacon a son gout or whatever them people say. (I know I have a few cinematic likes that would probably get me some sidelong looks, were I to reveal them.), you certainly redeem yourself by making this excellent, excellent suggestion.
...Luis Guzman, Terrnace Stamp, Peter Fonda, and Leslie Ann Warren...
You lose a point for leaving out Nicky Katt.
