I, for one, am totally and absolutely disgusted!

I love Smee especially.

Posted by: tamatha at November 2, 2011 9:48 AM

Smee does look a little concerned at what he's doing to the country.

Posted by: Three-nineteen at November 2, 2011 9:48 AM

BABY SMEEEEEEEE

Posted by: coveredinbees at November 2, 2011 9:51 AM

Disgusting. Revolting. and sooo damn adorable.

Posted by: sarah at November 2, 2011 9:56 AM

Take a note, Courtney Enlow. In this case, celebrities ARE better than us! Smeeeeeeeee!

Posted by: McSquish at November 2, 2011 10:00 AM

Those children will grow up to be miserable perverts! And want to cover everything in glitter and feather boas and want to violate people's bottoms! LOOK AT THOSE SICK, SICK BEINGS.

So adorable.

Posted by: figgy at November 2, 2011 10:08 AM

Is that NPH as Hook? He looks like Orlando Bloom. That is not a compliment.

Posted by: Paultera at November 2, 2011 10:12 AM

Could they adopt me? Can I adopt them? I want to participate in their depraved lifestyle (and have access to that pool).

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at November 2, 2011 10:14 AM

HALLOWEEN GAYBIES!!!

Posted by: ShagEaredVillain at November 2, 2011 10:15 AM

Every time you hear Tinkerbell ring another heterosexual marriage spontaneously combusts.

Posted by: PaddyDog at November 2, 2011 10:22 AM

I thought it WAS Orlando Bloom, Paultera.

Posted by: Todd at November 2, 2011 10:22 AM

Anyone who thinks gay people are different from everyone else should take one look at NPH's face. It's saying, "I'm trying to be a good sport and hold this pose, but TAKE THE DAMN PICTURE ALREADY." It is the look on parents' faces in Halloween photographs the world over. We really are all the same.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien-Harris-Burtka at November 2, 2011 10:25 AM

Oh, Mrs. Julien I, too, see the face.

Posted by: Agogagogo at November 2, 2011 10:34 AM

We should all be so lucky to have such parentage.

Seriously, Baby Smee is the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Posted by: RobP at November 2, 2011 10:35 AM

I am beyond disgusted that people got to celebrate Halloween without snow on the ground. Won't someone think of the poor children trick or treating with winter coats and snow boots covering their plastic costumes? Revolting.

Posted by: Robert at November 2, 2011 10:36 AM

I really want to NOT judge NPH's husband as someone who's just another aging twink with a youth and waxing fetish . . . and this picture isn't helping

Posted by: Rowen at November 2, 2011 10:44 AM

I had no idea NPH was a top.

Posted by: anikitty at November 2, 2011 10:49 AM

Gay parents: I know you have a knack for costumes, but please, no sharp objects near your baby. If Captain Hook accidentally stabs Baby Smee, gay people won't be allowed kids anymore.

Posted by: Lucas at November 2, 2011 11:01 AM

Gosh, Rowen, that was a spectacular amount of judgment, and, apparently, it took place against your will. I'm so glad you were able to overcome your ability not to judge, and indeed the very concept that there is not actually anything to judge him for in the first place. You must be exhausted.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien-Harris-Burtka at November 2, 2011 11:12 AM

They look like they're about to feed the crocodile.

Posted by: , at November 2, 2011 11:19 AM

I'm guessing it's a plastic hook, Lucas. The "no babies were harmed during the taking of this picture" thing is pretty much implied.

Posted by: Craig at November 2, 2011 11:31 AM

Mrs. J. is the grooviest.

Posted by: Rykker at November 2, 2011 11:45 AM

This is all part of Pajiba's gay agenda. First, site founder Dustin Rowles intentionally has his consciousness born into a person with a gay father. Then he creates this website and names it after what can only be a term to describe the genitals of a post-op trangendwhatever. And now?! Now they're trying to take away our sacred Halloween tradition.

My little boy (looks just like his daddy) went to the store to buy a costume. The gays had already come through with their army of adopted children and bought 'em all up! Thankfully, my quick thinkin' wife came up with the idea to give him my motorcycle helmet and leather jacket. We dressed him up as a bad-ass biker with a sweet mustache. So, at least he didn't look gay.

Posted by: pissant at November 2, 2011 12:04 PM

Adorable. That guy looks a little too buff to be Peter Pan, but whatever.

I also enjoy the pumpkin arrangement in the background. Very Martha Stewart.

Posted by: Slash at November 2, 2011 12:38 PM

Hmmm. I see a a typical family with two married parents, playing with their children and celebrating a holiday and creating a family tradition.

I... don't see...what the problem is....

OMIGAWD!!!!

You're right! This is too horribly cute for words! How dare they? In my day we'd never show this kind of love and togetherness in our families. What the Hell is wrong with them?

Sacrilege I tell you! Being so adorable on Halloween. That's just not right.

Posted by: bleujayone at November 2, 2011 12:48 PM

you guys... you're forgetting how gross gay sex is.

Posted by: gp at November 2, 2011 1:23 PM

@figgy: violate people's bottoms

Hee hee hee hee... that phrase made me giggle.

Which one is Smee?

Posted by: MM at November 2, 2011 1:36 PM

Clearly, you need to post more pictures of it gp.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at November 2, 2011 1:37 PM

Well, you know... they love a parade.

Posted by: MRod at November 2, 2011 1:54 PM

MM, 'Smee' refers to 'Mr. Smee', aka the first mate for Captain Hook. Aka the kid NPH/Captain Hook is holding.

http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Mr._Smee

And that is an absolutely adorable costume.

Posted by: foolsage at November 2, 2011 2:39 PM

And that Disney movie is a racist, sexist abomination. We threw it out rather than donate it because we didn't want to encourage anyone else to watch it.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at November 2, 2011 2:47 PM

God, I'm so sick of NPH and his stupid show. Over-exposed and not particularly funny.
The case for gay marriage should not depend on how non-threatening or how alike gay people are to straight people. It's a matter of equality and the behavior of a community-threatening or non-threatening-should not influence it being considered equal in the eyes of law.

Posted by: severine at November 2, 2011 2:55 PM

Sheesh. Who defecated in your pumpkin pale, severine?

Posted by: RobP at November 2, 2011 3:47 PM

The case for gay marriage should not depend on how non-threatening or how alike gay people are to straight people. severine

I agree with you. You are absolutely right. Gay rights are civil rights. It is not fair to deny some people civil rights while granting them to others. However the fact of the matter is that there is a segment of the population that is freaked out by gay people. Specifically, they are freaked out by the gay way they have gay sex and by the way they perceive their gay lives to be. It is not right or fair. It is discriminatory and should be illegal. BUT look at this nice man and his nice family leading a nice life. He won't hurt you. His children are adorable! How can you hate someone like that? His family is just like ours! The worst bigots will remain unmoved, but the people who are gradually waking up to this ongoing civil rights issue, the people who are getting progressively less freaked out by the issue, they are the ones who will help bring change; not by storming the castle, but by the slow, inexorable acceptance that everyone deserves the same civil rights and the chance to build a family that we all recognize legally, and as a society. Like it or not, people like Neil Patrick Harris and Ellen Degeneres are the vanguard of the revolution. Their prominence in our culture can help bring people to their senses while the good fight is fought in the courts.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at November 2, 2011 4:41 PM

AAAARGH! Gay pirates! Gay fairies! Gay babies! Gay Pajiba! Gayness all around! Where's Michelle Bachmann's gay husband when you need him?!

Posted by: Joker at November 2, 2011 6:08 PM

The Gays ARE destroying America! The racist, sexist, homophobic country we all cant stand is being demolished and rebuilt into the loving, tolerant America so many have fought and died for.

Posted by: Gamal at November 2, 2011 8:24 PM

I fucking love Disney's Peter Pan, no matter how racist and sexist it is. It's brilliant and you're a butt.

Posted by: Lucas at November 2, 2011 10:55 PM

Mrs. Julien , I get your point and I appreciate your detailed response. It's just that I'm a little frustrated at what I perceive to be the mirage of true social equality. I mean, the argument "We are just like them" does not get us, queer people anywhere at least in the long run. You can't live your lives appeasing some small-minded person's perception of how one should behave. This is the same argument they pull out against masculine women or effeminate men. They just see them as freaks and deny their humanity. It just feels like we are pandering to that expectation.
But I guess it is more realistic, especially when it comes to immediate goals like marriage equality, that people who are more "mainstream" like NPH and Ellen DeGeneres become faces of the gay community. Basically it is an issue of some people not fitting into the rigid gender norms of the society. True progress will only come when we transcend both terminology and normativity to move to a system that values people instead of perceptions and ideology.
