The 2017 Golden Globe Nominations

As they often do, the Golden Globe nominations sneaked up on us this Monday, in part because the Golden Globes don’t carry the weight they once did. It airs on primetime network television, but a series of inexplicable nominations over the years (evidenced by Hacksaw Ridge and Jonah Hill for War Dogs this year) has essentially reduced the ceremony to a sometimes fun night of television (especially when Amy Poehler and Tina Fey host), but not as much a bellwether for the Oscars and Emmys.
