Sorry, obligatory contrarian comment:
Whole Foods isn't expensive if you're a smart shopper. I pretty much just buy whole food, which is widely affordable at Whole Foods. And the vegan cheesesteak is $6. Produce cheap, processed garbage not cheap.
Also, food at regular grocers is unnaturally cheap due to big business & to Federal subsidies to big agriculture. Organic produce good, processed garbage bad.
