Well, Betty got her wish.

I was going to go for a run today, but now it's pretty clear I should have a ton of sex and eat a whole cheesecake instead.

You know, for Blanche.

Does this make three? Death always happens in ones, threes, and sevens. I think this makes three. Gary Coleman, Dennis Hopper, and Rue McClanahan. Have I forgotten anyone?

Rue McClanahan is dead. I mean, she's not as dead as Godzilla, but she's definately not coming back.

Rue was also terrific in the short lived series on Logo TV, called "Sordid Lives" She was the slightly ditzy mother of the institutionalized drag queen and had an affair with a much younger man. You could see flashes of Blanche in her character. RIP Rue.

Well, this makes 3 for me, as I don't know who the other people are, and I thought Art Linklater died 30 years ago.

We are all destined to shake off these mortal coils and be with the gods. Rue’s death is a bit more personal to me, my time here on earth is soon to be over. When the people whom you have jacked off over when you were a kid start to die, time becomes a little more precious.

True Story: When Rue had her first stroke Betty White sent her a huge bouquet of flowers with a card that read, "I hope you die, so that I can be the last Golden Girl." Apparently Rue laughed her ass off and thought it was hilarious.

Such wonderful ladies, RIP Golden Girl!

Dammit. The Golden Girls was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I'm not old enough to have seen all of it, but I remember the last couple seasons. And I've been catching the re-runs any time I can.

I might not get to the cheesecake tonight, but I will get into my husband's pants. Blanche would want me to. And, as soon as I get home, I'm changing into my pink hibiscus print muumuu that I inherited from my grandmother.

I just saw a Hot In Cleveland billboard yesterday and was thinking about Betty White's recent resurgence. Then I thought, "Wouldn't it be cool if Rue McClanahan had a renaissance as well?" Very sad.

Golden Girls was one of my favorites growing up. Damn funny. It was odd that such a show would be loyally watched by a boy of my age, as I couldn't have been much further from the target demographic, but so it was.

"Blanche, I have to say that when I first met you I thought you wore too much makeup and were kind of a slut."

"Well what do you think of me now Rose?"

(innocent look) "Oh you don't wear too much makeup!"

Love the fact that her character showed it was okay to eat and drink and have lots of sex even if you were older. Hopefully I will die a "Blanche" in a muumuu next to the pool watching the pool boy clean the filter :-)

Y'all, my uncle just died Sunday. I CAN'T TAKE MORE HEARTACHE.

If we lose Betty in 2011, I will cut a bitch.
