Pajiba's 2011 NCAA March Madness Bracket

As we do every year, for reasons that aren’t entirely clear for a movie and television website, we’re doing a Pajiba NCAA Bracket, which will give you all a chance to impress us with your college basketball knowledge or lack thereof. The winner will take home our undying love, which will probably die the day after you win. Also, you get bragging rights, which have no monetary value. Also, no one will care so bragging may present a problem. I’m not certain about any cash prizes this year, but Big Poppa Rowles can let you know when he gets back from being a drunken lout in Austin (not jealous).

The reality, as usual, is that you don’t have to know anything about college basketball to compete in the bracket or, honestly, to win the bracket. It’s ridiculously arbitrary. I don’t think any of our past winners were particularly knowledgeable of the game. It’s just a fun little time killer. Also, I don’t have a workplace (or a reason to wear pants to work), so you good people will be my able substitutes.

To join the bracket, just go here. You’ll need a Yahoo email address. The group ID is #173474. The group name is PajibaIs4Lovers and the bracket name is Love and Basketball, and the password for the bracket is PajibaIsAlso4Haters. It should otherwise be fairly self-explanatory.

You have until 12:15pm EDT on Thursday, March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day!) to submit a bracket. So, come along. Sing a song. Join a bracket. It’s great for your self esteem.

ID #173474
Group: PajibaIs4Lovers
Bracket: Love and Basketball
Password: PajibaIsAlso4Haters

Joanna Robinson cribbed this from Dustin’s post last year because the man himself is out of town (still not jealous). She knows little to nothing about college hoops but loves March Madness and always cheers for Gonzaga. GO ZAGS.

It tells me that password is wrong. WHY WOULD IT DO THAT? Is anyone else having a problem?

That password isn't working.

Posted by: Paultera at March 15, 2011 6:19 PM

Booo. Please hold.

Posted by: coveredinbees at March 15, 2011 6:20 PM

Fine, but hurry. I get off work in ten minutes and I have to hurry home to...get on the computer. Uh, yeah. Take your time.

I see I was beaten to the "wrong password" conclusion. And I so looked forward to making an utter fool of myself, too.

Okay, I think the issue was with the initial link. Please have another go, someone? My guinea piglets say it works.

You need to type in the number instead of the name of the group.

Good luck bitches.....

It's working now without issue. Time to embarrass myself. I'm choosing teams based on what schools had students who consistently beat me in speech and debate competitions. Where that fails, I choose the schools I recognize on sight. Where that fails, I choose the one closer to the end of the alphabet.

Now what do those tiny little numbers have to do with anything? There just random, right?

You take such good care of us! Thank you, JoJo. You're the best and MOST delightful of all.

Now, off to make some really bad picks!

I'm going with the coolest mascot. Because it's SCIENCE.

IT'S MARCH MADNESS, BABY!!!

Man, I should have announced that there would be a bracket name contest. Too late. But for the record, if I had, "The Air Up There" would be the frontrunner. You can't beat the Bacon.

Lets go Wolverines!!!!!!

Don't get me started on college basketball. The NCAA tournament is at the same time the best thing and the worst thing about the sport.

Password is still not working for me. :-(

Posted by: Nate at March 16, 2011 1:12 PM

Nevermind, you guys capitalized it wrong, here. PW is all lowercase for anyone else trying to get in on this.

Posted by: Nate at March 16, 2011 1:24 PM

the password is

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job, indeed.

I found your site from wikipedia and read a few of your other blog posts. They are cool. Pls continue this great work. Later on other fantastic American rock acts such as Lynrd Skynrd, The Eagles, America, the Allman Brothers, and the Doobie Brothers would come on the scene and shake up the world with their string of hit songs.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!

What I want to know is why I should care? I mean, not to say that what youve got to say isnt important, but I mean, its so generic. Everyones talking about this man. Give us something more, something that we can get behind so we can feel as passionately about it as you do.
