Tuesday nights are great. For reading books.

8:00

— “90210” on The CW

— “The Biggest Loser,” debuts its 5th Season on NBC. How bad is NBC? Bad enough that “The Biggest Loser,” is one of its biggest hits.

— “More to Love,” has its season finale over on FOX. Awesome counter-programming.

9:00

— “18 Kids and Counting,” on TLC. Guess what? The Duggar lady is pregnant again. Does this woman conceive during labor?

— “Big Brother” has its 11th season finale on CBS.

— “Melrose Place” on The CW.

— “Shaq vs. Michael Phelps” over on ABC.It’s the season finale.

— “Warehouse” on SyFy

10:00

— “The Cleaner,” ends its second season on A&E.

— “Sons of Anarchy” on FX

— “The Jay Leno Show” features Tom Cruise, continuing to demonstrate just how culturally relevant Jay Leno is.

Warehouse, FTW!

So what you're telling me is that it's a Netflix Instant Play kinda night. Gotcha.

Posted by: Rusty (formerly Genny) at September 15, 2009 7:19 PM

Good to know theres crap on tonite, because I totally forgot to check. My DVR is already set for Warehouse so I am covered.

Posted by: Jadashay at September 15, 2009 7:22 PM

I watched a couple episodes of "More to Love" (I know, I'm twisted) and MY GOD THOSE GIRLS ARE ANNOYING. I understand we're supposed to be sympathetic towards them because they've lived their lives being overlooked because of their weight, but really, there's only so many times you can cry about it per episode.

Maybe, just maybe, they've never had a relationship because they're too damn clingy and stalker-like.

That being said, I will most likely put myself through more torture for the season finale.

Posted by: Amanda at September 15, 2009 7:24 PM

you. fucking. donkey.

ramsey gets no love.

Posted by: gp at September 15, 2009 7:25 PM

It's Honduran Independence Day!

*waves little flags about*

Posted by: figgy at September 15, 2009 7:29 PM

Blech. I'll be reading The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. Then I'll be sleeping. My dreams are a billion times better than the dog snot shows on Tuesdays, even when I dream that zombies are attacking and I can only move in slow motion until I finally make it to a safe house where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are hoarding shotguns and food.

Posted by: Pinky McLadybits at September 15, 2009 7:30 PM

Why the fuck do I not have cable? Oh right, because I don't really watch TV. Fuck though, "Sons of Anarchy" and missing FOOTBALL. I'm going to start killing people, or my bar tabs are going to be fucking ridiculous the next couple of months.

Posted by: DeistBrawler at September 15, 2009 7:31 PM

Looks like I'll be... reading Heart of Darkness for class. Except @ 8:00, when I'll be taking a break to do laundry. And maybe watch 90210. 'Cause that's how I roll.

What?! I need entertainment! Folding is BORING!

Posted by: Anna von Beaverplatz at September 15, 2009 7:39 PM

Oh! And I kept forgetting today... Happy Your Country's Birthday, Figgy!

Posted by: Anna von Beaverplatz at September 15, 2009 7:40 PM

pffffft, pretentious hipsters

I'll be reading Star Wars Rebel Force: Renegade and re-arranging my collection.

Posted by: BarbadoSlim at September 15, 2009 7:45 PM

Hmm. A rereading of Rise and Fall of the Third Reich and a showing of A Night at the Opera for me tonight.

Posted by: The Wanderer at September 15, 2009 7:51 PM

Sons of Anarchy is an amazing show, I can't imagine why someone would watch freaking Jay Leno when that is at their disposal.

Posted by: George at September 15, 2009 7:52 PM

What no Hell's Kitchen tonight?

*googles*

No Hell's Kitchen because of a two hour finally of More to Love! Crap, now I don't have any motivation to finish my homework before 8 pm.

Posted by: DoubleH at September 15, 2009 7:57 PM

Happy Independence Day figgy! Do you get any crappy American TV channel to help you celebrate?

Posted by: Cindy at September 15, 2009 8:00 PM

NOOOOOO!!!

Posted by: gp at September 15, 2009 8:02 PM

Cindy I get most of them! I think I'll celebrate by...dammit. there's nothing good on. Maybe I'll watch Melrose Place just to torture myself or to gather ammunition for a scathing review.

And I'll go have cake.

Posted by: figgy at September 15, 2009 8:07 PM

A perfect evening!

Well, does the cake at least have an alcohol-filled center? Is there a studmuffin nearby to serve you?

Posted by: Cindy at September 15, 2009 8:17 PM

Yes, an excellent night for reading. Scroll down and catch lizzieborden's most excellent review of Stephen Hunt's The Court of the Air and then hie thee over to the nearest bookseller an purchase a copy.
You will be pleased and proud that you did.

Posted by: Spender at September 15, 2009 8:18 PM

IFC's showing "I Heart Huckabees."

"Have you ever transcended time and space?"
"Yes. No. Uh, time, but not space. ... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

Posted by: MelBivDevoe at September 15, 2009 8:31 PM

I think I'll watch The Fifth Element like I said I was going to in the Most Prolific Actors thread. Mmmmmmmm Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, and Milla Jovovich...mmmmmm...

Posted by: stardust savant at September 15, 2009 8:53 PM

Oh, poop. The bad TV doesn't even start for another hour. I think I'll go read Cleolinda's Twilight recaps again.

Posted by: figgy at September 15, 2009 8:57 PM

I'm finishing reading The Witches of Eastwick, in between watching my first and last episode of More to Love, to see how I compare to these socalled fat girls and to verify that the dude is as big of a jackass as I've heard he is.

Posted by: SaBrina at September 15, 2009 9:10 PM

... Not that I'm anxious about getting weighed tomorrow for the first time in years so I can join my company's gym or anything.

Posted by: SaBrina at September 15, 2009 9:12 PM

I will be watching SYTYCD Canada, well, you see what my other options are! Plus, I kinda love it.

Happy Independence Day, Figgy!

Caspar converted to a bot? Or are they just trying to infiltrate using our names now? OK, if I say anything stupid, it's not me.

Posted by: Cindy at September 15, 2009 9:35 PM

that wasn't Cindy.

Posted by: gp at September 15, 2009 9:55 PM

Yeah, who was that?

So you can dish it, eh gp? I've got your number.

Posted by: Cindy at September 15, 2009 10:03 PM

Three snaps in a z formation, gp.

Posted by: SaBrina at September 15, 2009 10:03 PM

What's all this about an independence day, Figgy?

Didn't we have a war or something when some upstart states down yonder way decided to secede without permission? Clint Eastwood fought on one side while Denzel Washington & Morgan Freeman fought on the other? Clint's side lost. Seriously, even Clint can't beat Denzel and Morgan. Just what is going on here?

To the Google. (I do not "bing." I will never "bing." Not through any allegiance to our Googly overlords, either. "Bing" - note the cap - is the name of the most insightful management pundit of our time, Stanley Bing, required reading for all aspiring execs who aren't poseurs and emo-wanna-be's. Always was. Always will be. Just like Hondurus is part of this here US of A. Always was. Always will be.)

Pause

Well fuck me sideways. Why was I not told about this? Apparently there's another Ammurikah, one that revolted all on their own (some several times), and in lots of little bits. Who knew?

(Seriously, Figgy, congratulations.)

Posted by: BierceAmbrose at September 15, 2009 10:04 PM

Okay so I'm the only one who'll admit to watching The Biggest Loser? Okay, I'll jump on the grenade. I'm glad Daniel's back on this season because his partner got him kicked off last season and he seems like a genuinely good kid.

I just can't get enough of Trainer Bob looking into the camera and saying: Oh! My! God! in perfect gay man shock.

Posted by: janetfaust at September 15, 2009 10:12 PM

I just realized today that Hulu has all 14 episodes of Firefly available. They also have all 14 episodes of Spaced.

Enjoy.

Posted by: Christina at September 15, 2009 10:26 PM

I keep trying to come up with a way to not like warehouse 13, yet eagerly look forward to it each week. It's the same faulty wiring in my head that makes me enjoy Eureka and,a while back, Angel

Posted by: idleprimate at September 15, 2009 11:58 PM

Yeah, Cindy, but do you have gp's SSN number so that you can steal his identity and buy things with his credit card?

Posted by: MM at September 16, 2009 1:10 AM

Fuck all this shite. Lately I've been addicted to syndicated old school Star Trek on one of the local stations.

Posted by: DarthCorleone at September 16, 2009 1:34 AM

'Swords: Life on the Line' is pretty OK in a Deadliest Catch sort of way. Plus, it replays last weeks episode and current episode several times in a night so people like me who JUST FUCKING GOT HOME FROM WORK at 11:00 (PST) can watch.

Posted by: Lindsey with an 'e' at September 16, 2009 2:29 AM

George,
I totally agree. I did a marathon watch of the first season of Sons of Anarchy this weekend. It's pretty damn good.

Posted by: Tarn at September 16, 2009 4:38 AM

I do not, but that's not my thing. I'd rather just annoy the hell out of him.

Posted by: Cindy at September 16, 2009 7:41 AM

HEY!
y'all leave me alone or i'm telling!

And exactly who will care?

Posted by: Cindy at September 16, 2009 11:45 AM

janetfaust I'm waving a hand. LOVE that fucking show. Can't wait to see that Shay melt into a stonecold looker.

But having said that, we might be asked to return to commenting from back inside Kevin Smith's arse.

(Don't Ask!)

The best way to watch Biggest Loser is with a big bowl of ice cream, though.

Posted by: Stacy D at September 16, 2009 2:50 PM

is there no Hells Kitchen on because they eliminated TWO donkeys last week :( gah... or am I just imagining that happening...
after the news this week I am trying to convert my husband into a Firefly fan (he's never seen the show) and am easing him into it...

Warehouse 13 FTW! btw...

Posted by: Tammers at September 16, 2009 4:18 PM

SoA threw up another great episode last night. This season is shaping up really well.

Posted by: trippdup at September 16, 2009 5:30 PM

Fuck me, I was with my boss last night (work trip) and she insisted on watching the finale of that More to Love shite, which I had never seen, and THEN 19,000 Kult Kid Army.

God.

First of all, what is this shit about I love you even though you're fat? Fuck that! No conditions, motherfucker!

Secondly, the 18000 Kid Army parents actually talked for several minutes about how SURPRISED and SHOCKED they were by this pregnancy! SHOCKED!!!11 HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?

Honestly, I don't know how assuming she's pregnant all the time isn't their DEFAULT position. I would expect them to be shocked every day that she's NOT pregnant.

And the kid's faces! First of all, it seemed that only a few kids were even listening to the announcement of baby brother or sister number 800. The older girl who was listening put on the fakest shocked face I've ever seen in my life. The younger kids went "oh!" and then continued playing. One said he hoped it was a brother. Why? Because he doesn't have enough brothers now?

Silly scary weirdo baby freak child hoarding people. Did you know if they end up having 20 kids and 18 of those 20 kids have 15 kids each, they'll have 270 grandchildren? And if just 200 of those grandchildren have 10 kids each, they'll have 2000 great-grandchildren, making their total progeny 2290????? That's a SMALL TOWN.

And I think that's their goal, by the way.
