Pajiba After Dark: I Have a Craving for Chocolate Croissants and Tiny Dogs

I have a bit of a dilemma tonight. There are several new summer series that have premieres tonight and most of them are fine and will just become objects of my scorn as the weeks wear on and I have to face the grim fate of writing about shows no one cares about AGAIN some more. However, that’s my job description, not the problem; the problem is that one of these shows stars a woman whose name has been banned from the site. So, the question is do I bother to get a dispensation to discuss that show specifically or simply dance around it and for now, it amuses me to dance around it. the woman is famous for a “leaked” sex tape from a few years ago, her name doesn’t start with K, and this is (at my count) her third go at a reality series. Neither of the other two are on the air anymore. This is the last time you’ll see that title in it’s correct form. Here’s your Wednesday night TV:

8:00pm: “Ghost Hunters” on SyFy

“2011 NHL Stanley Cup Finals, Game 1” on NBC

“American Masters: Maestro James Levine: 40 Year at the Met” on PBS

“So You Think You Can Dance” on Fox

9:00pm: “American Pickers” on History

“Franklin and Bash” on TNT. Series premiere. I’ll admit, I’m gonna give this a shot. The commercials seem amusing even though I have a philosophical objection to another new show about lawyers.

“Haunted Collector” on SyFy Series premiere.

“Inside NASCAR” on Showtime

“Man vs. Food Nation” on Travel. Series premiere.

“Mystery Diagnosis” on OWN

“Mythbusters” on Discovery. They’re testing whether or not you can dodge bullets this week but I haven’t seen Boris the Blade in any of the commercials so obviously they’re not testing it THAT rigorously.

“Great Performances at the Met: Nixon in China” on PBS

“Ultimate Fighter” on SpikeTV

9:30pm: “Extreme Couponing” on TLC

“Man vs. Food Nation” on Travel

10:00pm: “Deception with Keith Barry” on Discovery

“Hollywood Treasure” on SyFy. First season summer premiere.

“Men of a Certain Age” on TNT. Second season summer premiere.

“Pawn Star$” on History

“The Real World” on MTV. 25th season finale.

“Sand Masters” on Travel. Series Premiere. This is about people who make those big sand sculptures on beaches. Because we were all clamoring for that?

“South Park” on Comedy Central

“Top Chef Masters” on Bravo

“Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” on TBS

“The World According to Paris” on Oxygen. Series premiere.

10:30pm: “Hollywood Treasure” on SyFy

“Sand Masters” on Travel

“Workaholics” on Comedy Central

Late Night Listings

“The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on CBS featuring David Beckham and Shohreh Aghdashloo

“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on Comedy Central featuring Bill Moyers

“The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central featuring Robert Kennedy Jr.

“Chelsea Lately” on E featuring Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Ross Mathews, Loni Love, and Jeff Wild

Extreme Couponing, for real? Is Joe Rogan hosting?

Holy hell! The Real World is on it's 25th season?! When will that crap end? I'm not recommending it. I think Man v. Food Nation looks pretty rad personally. I was sick a lot last week and got my fill of that show and how nasty that dude was eating all that crap. Seriously he tried to eat a sandwich that had fried chicken AND mac n cheese. Or maybe that was the one he was eating the super super super hot wings and ended up puking in the end after eating 2. Anyway, it was a laugh! All the other shows look kinda crap, except the Late Show with Craig Ferguson or the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert killer comedy combo (you cannot go wrong!)

Watching the old hockey game. Honestly, it's some good old fashioned barbarians playing!

Franklin and Bash is really stupid, but my weird thing for Breckin Meyer will probably keep me watching for at least the rest of the season. They can get rid of the sassy tits-front-and-center assistant for starters. What saved the episode for me was the joke about The West Wing.

“The Real World” on MTV. 25th season finale.

25th? SERIOUSLY?! Aaaand there's my weekly dose of "thing that makes me feel really old".

I forgot Franklin & Bash started tonight, I love Breckin Meyer and Zack Morris and I need to check that out.
