Pajiba After Dark: If Only Hugh Laurie Weren't So Rakishly Charming

Tonight is the season finale of "House" which is a show that I have a troubled relationship with. The first couple seasons I was completely on board and then it became increasingly obvious that rather that the writers had absolutely no intention of having the House character grow or suffer any real consequences for his actions. There was that awful story line with the cop who had it in for him (Tritter?) but that more punished the people around him and rather than abandoning his selfish, destructive ass to the real world, they just gathered the wagons around him tighter. After that I watched less and less as his actions became less and less defensible. I'll drop in for an episode every now or again but more often than not just find myself staring at my TV going "Really?" I'll be tuning in tonight but I doubt I'll find my opinion changed much. Here's your Monday night TV:

8:00pm: "Antiques Roadshow" on PBS

"Dancing With the Stars" on ABC

"House" on Fox. Seventh season finale. Last chance to indulge in the lovely Lisa Edelstein's presence before she leaves the show. Take your guesses here as to whether or not her character is actually wrapped up before she leaves or does the famous TV move of pulling a runner completely out of characters and with no explanation.

"Minute to Win It" on NBC

"The Secret Life of the American Teenager" on ABC Family

"WWE Tough Enough" on USA

8:30pm: "Kid in a Candy Store" on Food Network. Second season finale.

9:00pm: "American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior" on Discovery

"The Bachelorette" on ABC. Seventh season premiere.

"The Chicago Code" on Fox. First season finale.

"Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" on Food Network

"The Event" on NBC. First season finale. Unless another network picks up the show, this is going to be the series finale. I'm sure there's a whole two or three of you out there who are crushed.

"Fabulous Cakes: Southern California" on TLC. Second season finale.

"Make it Or Break It" on ABC Family

"Off Limits" on Travel. The show is heading to Seattle this week.

"The Real Housewives of New Jersey" on Bravo

"To Big to Fail" on HBO. Original telefilm.

"VH1 Special: 50 Cent: The Origin of Me" on VH1

"WWE Raw" on USA

10:00pm: "Clash of the Commercials: USA vs. the World" on CBS

"The Hard Times of RJ Berger" on MTV

"Law and Order: Los Angeles" on NBC

"Meat and Potatoes" on Food Network

"Nurse Jackie" on Showtime

"Quints by Surprise" on TLC

"Sanctuary" on SyFy

"Setup Squad" on Logo

"Vanished with Beth Holloway" on Lifetime

10:20pm: "James May's Road Trip" on BBCA

10:30pm: "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" on Food Network

"Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory" on MTV. True story; tonight is the first time I've spelled "Dyrdek" right on the first try. I said it was true, I didn't say it was interesting.

"The United States of Tara" on Showtime

Late Night Listings

"The Late Show with David Letterman" on CBS featuring Lady Gaga, Eric Stonestreet, and the Vaccines

"The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on NBC featuring Dustin Hoffman, Meghan McCain, and the Script

"The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" on CBS featuring Jack Black and Rampage Jackson
