I'm Just Here to Collect Some Evidence

We’ve got a whole slew of season finales tonight so my job’s going to be getting a lot more boring really soon. I mean, I guess there’s some summer replacement stuff coming up, but is there anything you’re really excited about? There’s only a few shows I get really excited about, and one of them won’t be on again until the end of August (“The Venture Brothers”), one of them is still going for at least another couple of weeks (“Glee!”, which I’m only really excited about because next week is the Lady Gaga episode!), and the other one is currently on but I have to emotionally prepare myself for each and every episode (“Friday Night Lights”). I’m seeing a lot of Netflix in my future. Here’s what’s on tonight:

8:00 p.m.: “Bones” on Fox. Fifth season finale.

“Community” on NBC. First season finale.

“Flash Forward” on ABC.

8:30 p.m.: “Parks and Recreation” on NBC. Second season finale.

9:00 p.m.: “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” on CBS. Tenth season finale. I’m sure Laurence Fishburne is a wonderful guy, but there’s a very selfish part of me that wishes he’d play every role as either Morpheus or Cowboy Curtis. It certainly would’ve made the current version of “CSI” much more interesting.

“Fringe” on Fox. Second season finale.

“Grey’s Anatomy” on ABC. Two hour sixth season finale. I’m pretty sure shit is going to get fucked up real good, because if everybody on the damn show isn’t somehow miserable, the writers don’t seem to feel like they’re doing their job. I’d be watching my back if I were either Derek or Owen is all I’m saying.

“The Imploders” on TLC.

“The Office” on NBC. Sixth season finale.

9:30 p.m.: “30 Rock” on NBC. Fourth season finale.

10:00 p.m.: “The Dudesons in America” on MTV.

“The Marriage Ref” on NBC. First season finale.

“The Mentalist” on CBS. Second season finale.

“The Real Housewives of New York” on Bravo.

Late Night Listings:

“The Late Show With David Letterman” on CBS featuring Katherine Heigl, Steve Cohen, and Band of Horses.

“The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on NBC featuring Chelsea Handler, Chris Matthews, and Sarah McLachlan. I wonder if McLachlan will be bringing on some heartbreaking animals to really up the emotional impact of her set. I swear, I’d give money to the SPCA if they set a dollar amount at which point they’d pull those commercials.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC featuring Josh Holloway, Adam Perry Lang, and Slayer.

“The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson” on CBS featuring Holly Hunter and Vampire Weekend.

“Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” on NBC featuring Will Forte, Jim Parsons, and John Delucie.

“Last Call With Carson Daly” on NBC featuring Maria Menounos, V. V. Brown, and She & Him.

OMG. So. Tonight's Bones episode features the investigation of the death of a hoarder. And Fringe is going to feature a smackdown between Olivia and Other Olivia. HOT. SO HOT. I love Thursday. Well, *this* Thursday.

THURSDAYS ARE OH SO SAD WITHOUT SUPERNATURAL.

Thank god everything good is dying. Now I can finally get some reading done. And by reading I mean sex.

Community season finale: My initial reaction is en oh spells no...but secretly, I like Annie and Jeff, even though it's totally gross.

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FEEL ABOUT IT! Someone needs to tell me what to think so I don't have to think for myself!

So I've decided to watch Lost this summer. I figured that if I'm ever gonna do it, it's gotta be when:
a) I don't have classes to fail
b) I'm fairly free (I have an internship starting next week)
c) I'll be where I know nobody
d) It's still culturally relevant.

The only problem: I watched 7 episodes in a row today. Then I threw up (although that might be the virus my whole family has). So I have a question for all you Lost Freaks (and I say that lovingly now): IS IT ALWAYS THIS BAD?

Posted by: esme at May 20, 2010 8:41 PM

Haha, Marra. I think Jeff & Annie is better than Jeff & Brita. I never understood why the show was trying to push them together - Jeff & Annie have better chemistry.

When did Adam Scott join Parks & Recreation? Now I have a reason to watch it!

esme, you have to push thru the pain. We can tell you on Monday (after the series finale) if it's all worth it or not.

The Big Green Egg will be making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC tonight with guest Adam Perry Lang.

What's a Big Green Egg? Only the best damn grill/smoker and oven for outdoor cooking. I love mine.

Ugh, you're right, MelBivDevoe. I think Jeff and Britta are a better couple on paper, but Joel and Allison have really good chemistry. I wish they didn't, because I really like the idea of Jeff and Britta as friends who date each other occasionally and Jeff and Annie as a sort of brother/sister relationship - because it's weird for Annie to be dating a 38-year-old. But every time they do sexual tension stuff I'm like, damn I would like to see Joel and Allison get it on.

You know, I love Matt Damon on 30 Rock, but you KNOW that he's not gonna stick around for long because it's MATT DAMON. So Liz is just gonna be screwed in love AGAIN.

SLAY-ER!

And it was oh so glorious.

I'm only here because someone mentioned Gaga and I feel like it's my civic duty at this point to say:

Fuck that freaky he/she bitch. Not good. Not interesting. Wouldn't put a death row inmate's dick in that androgynous hairy hatchet wound, or subject he/she to he/she's "music." I'm all for equal rights all around, but if it were a different decade we would have chained its ass to a tree and killed it with fire by now. And we'd sleep better at night because of it.

Also, esme, if you can make it past the shit-tastic first six episodes of season 3, you're in the clear. I don't know how you swing, but at some point Kate jumps into a waterfall pool with no bra on with those damn fuckme bambi eyes. If that's not your particular flavor of pudding, Sawyer seems to lose his shirt more frequently later on. I'm straight, but I would shut my eyes so tight and take it from those abs on a beach, on a plane, in a hut or in the rain. In short, it makes up for the awful with awesome the longer you watch. Promise.

I'm sure Lady Gaga will be inconsolable when she finds out Roaddog doesn't think she has damn fuckme bambi eyes.

I'm so excited about that episode of Glee! as well Rusty. I was losing interest in Glee! until I saw the commercial advertising that.
