Batmanuel Is a Jealous Ex-Lover. If He Cannot See You Naked, Then No One Can.

As a life long insomniac I find myself stumbling around the darker corners of Netflix Instant Play many nights after all my television programming options have turned to shit. Sometimes I find wonderful things (“Spartacus: Blood and Sand”) sometimes I find things that make me feel confused and unhappy (Brief Interviews With Hideous Men) and sometimes I find things that are just fun diversions. The live action series “The Tick” would be the last of these. “The Tick” is not the best thing I’ve ever seen, but I like it and I’ll watch every episode available on Netflix (which is not, contrary to labeling, the complete series). It’s also interesting to see where the people involved in this tiny series ended up; Liz Vassey is now on “CSI,” Patrick Warburton is currently lending his voice to my animated husband Brock Samson on “The Venture Brothers,” and Nestor Carbonell has brought his impossibly thick eyelashes to “Lost.” For the remainder of “Lost,” Batmanuel up there will be welcoming you to Tuesday evenings, because it amuses me. Here’s your Tuesday night television:

8:00pm: “90210” on The CW

“American Idol” on Fox. Top eight female semifinalists perform, unless they don’t because apparently my information on “American Idol” is not always accurate.

“The Biggest Loser” on NBC

“NCIS” on CBS

9:00pm: “19 Kids and Counting” on TLC

“Lost” on ABC

“Melrose Place” on the CW

“NCIS: Los Angeles” on CBS

10:00pm: “16 and Pregnant” on MTV

“The Bad Girls’ Club” on Oxygen. Fourth season finale. As much I appreciate, in theory, Oxygen’s efforts at not resorting to the Lifetime model of constantly showing movies where women are beaten and/or stalked and passing it off as “television for women,” I’m not sure airing a show where women beat and/or stalk people is really the way to balance things out.

“Chopped” on Food Network. Third season finale.

“Food Wars” on Travel. Series premiere, and they’re going to Chicago for an Italian beef war. I thought the big deal in Chicago was the pizza?

“The Forgotten” on ABC. First season finale.

“The Good Wife” on CBS

“Millionaire Matchmaker” on Bravo

“Parenthood” on NBC

“Southland” on TNT. I like putting these two shows next to each other because if the whole “Jay Leno Show” debacle had never happened, “Southland” would probably be occupying “Parenthood’s” spot on NBC and NBC could’ve saved themselves the cost of developing a new show. But hey, I’m sure it’s working out well for them.

“The Miss Turkey Trot and Miss Drumsticks Pageants” on TLC. This just sounds unappetizing on so very many levels.

“White Collar” on USA. Everything I’ve seen keeps calling this the “Season 1 Finale” but I know that this is not the first season. Maybe they mean first full season? In any case, tonight is the season finale, set your DVRs.

Is Parenthood any good? Otherwise, Tuesday is still gonna be lonely Southland day.

Java Double, you are now my bitch!

Yeah, this isn't gonna stop any time soon.

Patrick Warburton is currently lending his voice to my animated husband Brock Samson...

I wish I could get over my icky-ness for Patrick Warburton. I want to like him, I really do. However being hit on very creepily by a person will kind of do that to ya. True story, the man is an ass.

Who didn't know that he was Batmanuel? (Formerly Die Fledermous)
It makes it all the better that he was in The Dark Knight.

It's time you learned the truth. It wasn't a magic hubcap. The magic was in you all along.

Heeeee. Never gets old

Optimus, I loved Batmanuel showing up in the Dark Knight. That will forever be my association for Nestor Carbonell. Lost who?

Someone has to don the ovenmitts of good and grab hold of the red-hot neck of evil.

And these are all from the first 3 minutes of the pilot.

I was bitter the show didn't last long enough to give me a live action El Seed or the Mad Baker and his sidekick Buttery Pat.

What size are you?

I am Batmanuel size.

Classic.

I loved the live action The Tick show. For me losing it ranks right up there with Firefly.

Oh, and I could swear that is Arthur in a Geico commercial, the one with the mean lizard who ate the jelly beans.

Yay! The Tick!! Swoon! Batmanuel!!

*whisper* Batmanuel! Am I cool?

I don't know if every Univision affiliate is showing this, but everyone MUST find out if they're showing the new version of Corazon Salvaje. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

Batmanuel!!! Batmanuel is awesome and I'm back at commenting at Pajiba just to honor him!!! A true latin american hero!!!

I hated the cartoon, but the Tick live action show was great... too bad it was a little too early for the super hero movie hype, if I'm not mistaken it was before even Spider-man, so nobody cared about super heroes, and nobody saw how great a parody that was. If they had done it a few years later I'm sure it would have a better chance. Or maybe not, you americaners love to create good things just to take them away from us!

Yeah, motherfucking Brock Sampson (last season was kinda weak though, still, better than anything else but, still...)

Posted by: BarbadoSlim at March 9, 2010 10:39 PM

16 and Pregnant!

::crickets::

Well, at least a few of us are watching it together over on FB. It's a big mess!

Brock Sampson wouldn't even throw you a pity fuck if it was your last request from the make a wish foundation.
Thanks
