Pajiba After Dark: Maybe He's Just Typecast for 'Member of a Dysfunctional Relationship' Now

This week my brother came down to visit me and enjoy some beautiful sun and beach time before getting through the rest of spring. Not that spring itself is bad, but spring in Maryland is almost completely unpredictable and prone to violent mood swings so that one week you’ll be wearing shorts and tee shirts and the next week you’ll be dragging out the heavy coats and snow boots again. The trip went great, however late last night there was a fire at Miami International Airport, which is known as the seventh circle of hell on a GOOD day and I’ve a giant portion of my morning on the phone with airlines, family members, and airlines again trying to sort out how and when he’s going to get back to Baltimore. I feel bad for the airline people because honestly they’re probably having a worse day than I am, but if I hear one more crap excuse for why the relatively simple task of getting one young man and his bag from Miami to Baltimore can’t happen someone’s going to get a massive earful. Here’s your Thursday night TV:

8:00pm: “American Idol” on Fox

“Community” on NBC

“Wipeout: Spring Wipeout” on ABC. I like how the “Wipeout” shows are themed. Like the majority of the audience wouldn’t watch people fling themselves at giant bouncy balls that hurl them into water if the giant bouncy balls weren’t color coordinated.

8:30pm: “Perfect Couples” on NBC. The first of the final three episodes! Thank TV Jesus.

9:00pm: “The First 48” on A&E

“Grey’s Anatomy” on ABC

“Man vs. Wild” on Discovery. Sixth season finale.

“The Office” on NBC

9:30pm: “NCAA Basketball Championship: Regional Semifinal - Double Header” on CBS

“Parks and Recreation” on NBC

10:00pm: “30 Rock” on NBC

“Archer” on FX

“Blonde vs. Bear” on Animal Planet

“Fairly Legal” on USA. First season finale. Thus far I do not find this show particularly interesting or enough of a departure from the standard actual lawyer shows to be an interesting concept. But Sarah Shahi is lovely and charming, as is Michael Trucco who I keep thinking of as Anders despite the fact that there aren’t Cylons wandering around in this series. Although since both his character on BSG and this show are involved with women who have SEVERE commitment and intimacy issues so it’s easy to see where I’d get confused.

“Ice Brigade” on Food Network

“Jersey Shore” on MTV. Third season finale.

“Manhunters” on A&E

“The This Old House Hour” on PBS

“Private Practice” on ABC

10:30pm: “Outsourced” on NBC

Late Night Listings

“The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on NBC featuring Kirstie Alley, Jon “Bones” Jones, and Peter, Bjorn, & John

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC featuring Penelope Cruz, Paul Iacono, and Oh Land

“Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on NBC featuring Rachel Maddow and Tres Mts.

“Last Call with Carson Daly” on NBC featuring Zack Snyder, Nick Frost, Simon Pegg, and Ra Ra Riot

“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on Comedy Central featuring Bret Baier

“The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central featuring Jody Williams

“Chelsea Lately” on E featuring Brittany Snow, Jim Norton, Ross Mathews, and Jen Kirkman
