More WWII Tragedy, Comin' Up!

Very brief Pajiba After Dark tonight, since I’m at Universal in Orlando and every minute I spend writing is a minute I’m not on a roller coaster or in a pool. Here we go:

7:00pm: “America’s Funniest Home Videos” on ABC

“Minute to Win it” on NBC. Series premiere at a special time. This looks like an excellent way to watch people embarrass themselves on television. Not that we don’t have enough of those already.

“‘Til Death” on Fox

7:30pm: “‘Til Death” on Fox

8:00pm: “The Amazing Race” on CBS

“Killer Aliens” on Animal Planet. There is no way that can actually be what it sounds like.

“Cutting Edge 4: Fire and Ice” on ABC Family.

“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” on ABC

“Extreme Wedding Cakes” on Food Network. “Extreme”. TV keeps using that word, but I do not think it means what TV thinks it means.

“Frank the Entertainer in… a Basement Affair” on VH1

“Minute to Win It” on NBC. Time slot premiere

“The Simpsons” on Fox

“The Man With Half a Body” on TLC

9:00pm: “The Apprentice” on NBC. Ninth season premiere.

“Desperate Housewives” on ABC

“Family Guy” on Fox

“Summit on the Summit” on MTV. 90 minute special presentation.

“The Pacific” on HBO. Mini series premiere.

“Tool Academy” on VH1

“Undercover Boss” on CBS

9:30pm: “Sons of Tunscon” on Fox. Hey, where’d all the “Family Cleveland Dad” stuff go? Weird.

10:00pm: “Ax Men” on History

“Cold Case” on CBS

“Hoarding: Buried Alive” on TLC. We already have a hoarding show, and honestly I can only subject myself to that once a week at most. Sorry, TLC, A&E wins this round.

“How to Make It in America” on HBO

“Kendra” on E!. Second season premiere

“Tool Academy” on VH1. New episode at a special time

“Brothers and Sisters” on ABC

Yes, I will be watching The Pacific. It'll be like Pearl Harbor...without, you know, sucking.

Sorry but I ain't getting thieved by HBO again just for ONE show.

Pacific shall have to wait.

Sons of Tunscon

I'm not entirely certain, but I'm pretty sure that's spelled "Tucson".

In other, more relevant, less bitchy news, I will totally be subscribing to hbo. (read: will be downloading show for free)

There was a Cutting Edge 2 and 3???

Posted by: meaux at March 14, 2010 7:41 PM

Ha! Meaux, my comment was going to be, "Wait, Fire and Ice is #4?!"

Now I don't have a comment.

Umm, I don't have to work tomorrow? Or the rest of the week? Yeah. That's right. I'm on vacation.

Tucson.

That's been a problem lately -- gone are the days of multiple must-see shows on HBO. They really need to pick up their game.

Ha! My reaction to the whole list was also "There's a Cutting Edge 4??!?!??!!!!"

Seriously, The Cutting Edge is the best hockey player/figure skater romance movie ever made. Is that saying a lot? You be the judge.

Treme is coming soon.

Shit.

Peter Graves just died.

Shit.

Sorry MM,

That would be Ice Castles. Hockey player, figure skating, Robby Benson, Tom Skeritt AND blindness.

Posted by: krix at March 15, 2010 12:08 AM

Not that it's a romantic comedy....in the LEAST. But it's got Robby Benson.

Posted by: Jay at March 15, 2010 12:11 AM

It was a comedy in my household after the 400th time it was on. Anything can be turned into audience participation, and this was at least 15 years before we saw any MST3K.

Posted by: krix at March 15, 2010 12:22 AM

Although Tom Skeritt is a good argument, Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney top Robby Benson any day in my book.

And I've not seen this "Ice Castles", but is Robby Benson a former hockey player? Because if not, then clearly and without argument, The Cutting Edge is the best of the "hockey player/figure skater romance" genre.

PB and I watched Killer Aliens last night and it was quite good. It details how thanks to shady dealers and inept pet owners, exotic animals are invading non-indigenous regions and how ecologically damaging it is. I.E, Burmese pythons in Florida.
And giant rats with giant balls. I.E, ROUSWGB's.
This was followed by a show I'd never heard of, called Fatal Attraction, which shows stories of people who are the owners of exotic animals that kill, and guess what, they kill the owners. Last night's show was about a guy whose Nile monitor lizards ate him, and a woman fatally bitten by one of her poisonous snakes.
Next week-big cats.
I was hugging my puppy-dog a little tighter last night.

"Pacific shall have to wait."...
...until tomorrow when I torrent it. Amazing how few people here ever admit to using Torrents.
Pacific is only on SKy Movies in the UK. Sky channels suck.
