No Wine and No TV Make Rusty Something Something

Last night while I was watching TV, the screen suddenly filled with static on all channels. I haven’t turned the TV back on since then (it was around 12:30 a.m. last night) because the arrangement by which I was getting my cable was… let’s just say questionable and I’m scared that it’s gone forever. So I will be trying to watch TV tonight, but there’s a good chance that it won’t be working and I’ll end up working on the pitch I have to give in movie production class tomorrow (It’s a medieval sex romp based on a story out of Boccaccio’s The Decameron and I’m proposing Amanda Seyfriend and Taylor Kitsch as the leads. Director is still undecided.) while glaring bitterly in my television’s direction. Here’s what the rest of you have to look forward to:

7:30 p.m.: “World Series Game #6” on FOX. Yankees are playing to win, Phillies are playing to take this series to Game #7.

8:00 p.m.: “America’s Next Top Model” on The CW.

“Hank” on ABC.

“Lock and Load: Granny’s Got a Gun” on Showtime (I’m bewildered… yet intrigued).

“Mercy” on NBC.

“The New Adventures of Old Christine” on CBS.

8:30 p.m.: “Gary Unmarried” on CBS.

“The Middle” on ABC.

9:00 p.m.: “Criminal Minds” on CBS.

“Friday Night Lights” on DirecTV.

“Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” on NBC, which my mother unfailingly refers to as “Law and Order: SUV” because she’s slightly dyslexic.

“Modern Family” on ABC.

“Mythbusters: Hurricane Windows” on Discovery, which might actually be useful for me if I can watch it.

“Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” on TBS. 4th season premiere. Just so you know.

9:30 p.m.: “Cougar Town” on ABC.

“Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” on TBS.

10:00 p.m.: “CSI: NY” on CBS.

“Eastwick” on ABC.

“The Jay Leno Show” on NBC.

“Nip/Tuck” on FX.

“Top Chef” on Bravo, but it’s “All Stars Dinner” which I think means there’s no competition happening tonight, just people from previous seasons talking about their experiences. Lame.

“Flowers Uncut with Jeff Leatham” on TLC, which is about floral arranging but I gave it a double take since the first episode is called “Virgin Alley” and my mind went to a bad place.

Go Crazy?N

Posted by: Nicholas H. at November 4, 2009 7:15 PM

I think I'll watch Dog Soldiers. And maybe DVR the Mythbusters.

Posted by: Pinky McLadybits at November 4, 2009 7:19 PM

Crisis (and going crazy) avoided. My cable's working again. Thank you, TV Gods! I will continue my idolatrous ways!

good thing i sacrificed that drunk-ass fly.

tv gods are so easily appeased.

anyone want 'wonderfalls' back? *reaches for chihuahua*

Posted by: gp at November 4, 2009 7:43 PM

Ahh, Wednesday nights. More banal shit masquerading as programming. I fear that Newton Minow was more prophetic than he realized.

Except, maybe, for Nip/Tuck and Mythbusters.

No Glee?

What the fuck, man.

Well atleast there's Modern Family.

Looking at that pathetic piss-soaked excuse for a TV lineup makes Jerce something something...

You left out South Park.

We get a new Fringe tomorrow night, don't we? I hope so. I hope there's a lot of Walter. I need excuses to stave off suicide.

Posted by: Jerce at November 4, 2009 7:58 PM

UGH. You always leave out the good stuff, Genny. Real World/Road Rules at 9:00! GOD!

Posted by: jamiepants at November 4, 2009 8:00 PM

When does Glee come back?

Posted by: Austin asking for trouble at November 4, 2009 9:55 PM

Dammit, I miss Glee.

I'm with jamiepants (HI JAMIEPANTS!), RW/RR Challenge is ridiculously awesome. I just wish I had normal MTV instead of the shitty latino version that airs the seasons two years too late (they just finished airing The Island, for fuck's sake!).

Glee!

"Santana. Wheels. Gay kid. Asian. Other Asian. Aretha. Shaft."

Haw!

That Kyra spambot is FREAKING ME OUT. Seriously. The spambot is sticking to one name. I need someone to hold me.

NOT YOU, KYRA.

So glad the WS is over so GLEE can come back!! (This comment could get this suburban Philadelphian shanked.)

Am way behind on DVR'd Nip/Tuck. How much Dr. Christian Troy ass can I expect in my 3 backed up episodes?

Posted by: maydays at November 5, 2009 9:46 AM

ME ME ME, gp. Bye, bye, chichi-dog.

And what was that last one, something about deflowering uncut virgins? I'm sorry I missed that.

Posted by: Drake at November 5, 2009 11:57 AM

"And what was that last one, something about deflowering uncut virgins? I'm sorry I missed that.

Posted by: Drake at November 5, 2009 11:57 AM"

That you needed to specify these virgins are uncut is disturbing, but infinitely less so than if you had written cut virgins.
