I'm Not Creative Today, Check Back Later This Week

Welcome to Monday! If your week doesn’t suck already, congratulations and try not to lord it over the rest of us. Television tonight has somewhat slim pickings, and there’s not even a new “Hoarders” on for those of us who use the mental illnesses of others to feel better about our own housekeeping abilities. So, here’s your lineup:

7:00pm: Nothing but a special on the Beijing Olympics on Showtime.

8:00pm: “House” on Fox.

“Heroes” on NBC, which I quit a while ago but I think some of you are still hooked on.

“How I Met Your Mother” on CBS.

“Dancing With The Stars” on ABC.

8:30pm: Monday Night Football, Denver at San Diego on ESPN.

9:00pm: “Gossip Girl” on the CW.

“Lie To Me” on Fox. I’ve seen this a couple times and … I don’t know. I’m not a big fan. All the characters just seem way too smug.

“Trauma” on NBC.

9:30pm: “Big Bang Theory” on CBS.

10:00pm: “Extreme Paranormal: New Mexico State” which is NOT “Hoarders” on A&E.

“Castle” on ABC (Note for DVR-ers, this officially starts at 10:02 p.m., so adjust your timing on the back end accordingly.)

Intern Rusty is a Masters student at the University of Miami. She currently has four jobs and receives a regular paycheck from 50% of them. You can read about how she’s handling all this over at Rusty’s Ventures. She prefers her bribes in the form of food, alcohol, or Target gift cards.

Slim pickings? Dammit, bring back the guy that appreciates a good football game. Aaah, never mind, you're doing fine Rusty. I just can't stay mad at you. In related news, did Adult Swim fuck up its broadcast of the Venture Bros in your market last night? I'm guessing no or you would still be screaming about it.

Venture Bros was fine in Michigan, wake.
But how is a night of "How I Met Your Mother", "Potville" the true crime drama, and "Castle" considered slim pickins?
If you want to talk slim, let's talk Tuesdays. It's so lame I've already planned a night of high stakes Scrabble.

Tuesday is the black hole of the week - NOTHING is on tv on Tuesdays.
I'm happy that Castle is on tonight...

OOOhOOOH OOHH... It's Monday night, you forgot to mention the Roadshow on PBS!

Posted by: Stella at October 19, 2009 8:10 PM

God, why won't this stupid baseball game end so I can watch HOUSE!? **

**Note: I love baseball but could not care less about a Yankees/Angels ALCS. I care about the National Scottish Curling Team more than Yankees/Angels.

Thanks for the tip on extending the recording time of "Castle", Rusty. Also, you're absolutely right - "Paranormal" is NOT "Hoarders"!!! Damn, I miss Misery Night with the girls. I might check out the pot show though, if the Denver game is dull.

I said "slim" not "non-existent", which is what I consider Tuesday.

And the_wakeful, I'm in the privileged East Coast class who got the proper version of Venture Brothers last night. And it was glorious. I'm gonna watch it like, 8 more times on Tuesday. And maybe some of my DVDs of previous seasons, to get better context.

so adjust your timing on the back end accordingly.

9:00pm: “Gossip Girl” on the CW.

That network still exists? When even The World Wrestling Federation leaves your network, you have no right to continue to air shows.

In related news, did Adult Swim fuck up its broadcast of the Venture Bros in your market last night?

WTF was that?
Luckily we watched in enough time to set the TIVO to get the 3am rebroadcast.
Crazy fun....

Monday night TV is a blessing, y'all. It's a concerted effort on the part of all television broadcasters to get America reading again.

Posted by: Wednesday at October 19, 2009 9:22 PM

George, the World Wrestling Federation no longer exists. Check your sources and think before you speak.

Whoa whoa whoa, I work at a CW affiliate. And we lost WWE to mynetwork tv, which most CW affiliates also run after the upn wb merger, and actually a downgrade. Let me tell you our wonderful lineup: One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl, 90210 and Melrose Place, America's Next Top Model and the so-good-it-was-cancelled after one episode The Beautiful life, Supernaturual and Vampire Diaries, and Smallville.... Quality. We do however snag syndicated shows like Scrubs, Malcom in the Middle, The Office, Family Guy, Seinfeld.

for the Star Trek nerds: Will Wheaton was on Big Bang Theory tonight. It was pretty awesome.

Smallville blows.

A little early in the month for a haunted "House." Must mean the baseball playoffs/World Series will be bumping for a couple weeks.

I know that, but World Wrestling Federation is more widely known than World Wrestling Entertainment, even though they're the same company.

Posted by: George at October 20, 2009 2:34 AM

Last night reminded me this is the time of year where all programming on Fox stops for baseball playoffs. Blech. But I do hope the Angels win the ALCS because I hate the Yankees so.

Did everyone else keep thinking Amber was going to start talking to House again? That would have been fun. And how hard is it for Chase to tell Cameron, "Look, I murdered a dictator and I'm having some slight pangs of remorse over that. Of course if my name was Jack Bauer I would have been invited to have a beer with the President by now and lauded as a hero." This story line was interesting in the beginning but it's starting to get stupid. Move on.

Broncos. 6-0. How SWEET it is and Eddie Royal's 2 TDs brought me the 12 pts I needed to win my fantasy football matchup so now doubly happy!

It is great to see Wesley Crusher back on the screen. And even in a Fruit Fucker Shirt!

Okay, if no one's going to comment on the kitten graphic at the top, I will. CUTE! LOVE ME THEM KITTIES WITH DOODLEBOPPERS!

You can tell the TV watching was dull, duller, dullest that night!

Meow.
