Now Officially a Superlative Comedic Performance

Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Fox at 8:30pm ET. I guess we should start referring to this as “Golden Globe winner Brooklyn Nine-Nine” the same way I always refer to Three Six Mafia as “Oscar winners Three Six Mafia.” Because it’s important to recognize achievements like that.

Klondike on Discovery at 9:00pm ET.

The Mindy Project on Fox at 9:30pm ET. Second season winter finale. I’m assuming Fox is moving things off the air to make room for the American Idol media blackout that will last the next few weeks while we all pretend that any current American Idol contestant has a shot at a career doing anything but headlining county fairs and the occasional parade, after their victory tour.

Horseplayers on Esquire at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. This is a new reality series that following the “high-stakes world of professional horse race handicapping” as well as the bettors at race tracks from Churchill Downs to Saratoga. Given the overall popularity of horse racing, I can’t see how this will fail!

Justified on FX at 10:00pm ET.

Genevieve Burgess does, in fact, find ways to refer to Oscar winners Three Six Mafia often enough to have a personal policy about it.
