Presented without comment by a Canadian who finds the United States of America’s political system endlessly entertaining. Except when it fucks up my tv viewing.

She lost. she lost she lost she lost.

SHE WAS CRUSHED, thank god. I know it was expected, but it's so gratifying to have it be for real.

(I didn't even watch the video... just saw the picture and I have to do a little mental victory dance in my cubicle.

Do they have their own dating agency?

Posted by: peanut at November 2, 2010 8:56 PM

The kooky chick lost. Yay.

Posted by: Fredo at November 2, 2010 9:29 PM

Now if she'd just go crawl back under the rock from which she came...

Posted by: gothdoctor at November 2, 2010 9:47 PM

Unfortunately, if the trend holds, we'll see her on Fox News in about a minute.

Smell it!

Posted by: the_wakeful at November 2, 2010 11:35 PM

Are you really surprised she lost? Who cares. She and Palin are just a political shell game to keep you from paying attention to the 'solid' democrats that lost.
Stretch Pelosi is out, time to turn in the keys to the fighter jet, and Obama is in for interesting ride.

Posted by: richmac at November 3, 2010 12:04 AM

it's been said over and over again on the news channels it's time for the Pres to sit up and listen America is tired of not being listened too we are the boss not them their jobs can and should be temporary it will be very interesting to see what happens next

BigTodd for best post without punctuation, sentence structure, or coherent thought.

@Robert Scott
Only after she takes a number seven (or higher) blonde...

I mean, Palin can get away with being a brunette on FOX News, but I think that's only a one-shot deal. Let Gretchen Carlson be your guide.

Meh, not a historic electoral wave by any definition of the concept. Picked up some seats in the House couldn't reach majority in the Senate. Good luck trying to keep the teabaggers in line.

Now, get to work.

"Meh, not a historic electoral wave by any definition of the concept. Picked up some seats in the House couldn't reach majority in the Senate. Good luck trying to keep the teabaggers in line."

The biggest house seat pickup in 70 years? Gaining control of 16 more statehouses? Picking up at least 6 Senate seats? Picking up most of the governorships at issue?

Not an electoral wave by any definition? REally? Please. The far left agenda of Obama and Pelosi was just soundly rejected by america. soundly. Yeah, the right put up some terrible candidates that couldn't ride the wave (Angle, O'Donnell, McMahon), but if you are denying the wave, you have your head in the sand.

Good luck keeping your commies in line now that the only dems left in the house are the idiot far left koolaid drinkers who still believe Obama is a "lightworker".

Posted by: Chewster at November 3, 2010 8:15 AM

"In 1936, FDR was elected in the largest landslide ever. In 1938, after cutting back on government spending like the Republicans wanted him to do, Democrats lost 71 seats, the biggest loss ever.

In 1966, after a landslide victory, Lyndon Johnson lost 47 seats.

In 1982, after a landslide victory, Reagan lost 30 seats."

So, the Democrats lost some seats. Everyone knew this was going to happen. What I did not know, was that my mum was going to vote for Kirk. I told her she's not getting any grandbabies.

On another note, I'm so fucking glad this is over. There should be a limit on political ads run on the teevee. I propose a limitation of 2 per hour.

"The wave" is populism, & populism is for idiots.

Posted by: the new transported man at November 3, 2010 8:46 AM

It amuses me to no end to see how Unitedstatians use the words "communism" and "socialism".

And Hitler. And "quotation marks."

Posted by: THE Sofía at November 3, 2010 8:51 AM

Americans and their politics are so adorable.

Posted by: Robert Scott at November 3, 2010 9:15 AM

Socialism:
so·cial·ism
[soh-shuh-liz-uhm]
–noun

1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

Vote Republican if your heart tells you to, but for the love of fucking Christ, do it for the right reasons. Understand what the fuck you're talking about before you start slinging words around.

If you're voting for a candidate because you think Obama is a socialist, then you are an ignorant, uninformed fool. If you're voting because you've got intelligent, coherent reasons that move beyond a gross misunderstanding of basic political principles and broad, generalist rhetoric, then at least there exists a chance of having a valid, useful and productive dialogue. But if all you've got is bumper stickers and slogans, and mumbling blowhard jingoism and misguided, misdirected jargon, then what hope is there for any kind of common understanding or discourse?

At the very least, learn to use a fucking dictionary and have a basic understanding of political science before you start blathering about socialism and communism.

The far left agenda of Obama and Pelosi

HA HAAAAA HAAAAAAAA [snort] HA HEEEE HAAAA wooo[tear wipe] HEE haaa haaaaa haaaaaaa [giggle] Huh [sigh].

Needed that, thanks.

Posted by: Ranylt at November 3, 2010 10:11 AM

I crack up when I read that as well, Ranylt. It's as if no one paid any attention to Obama's run for Presidency nor the last two years. Far left my ass. Obama couldn't be far left if he tried.

Posted by: Scully at November 3, 2010 10:53 AM

I told her she's not getting any grandbabies.

D'OH!

Posted by: Mulder at November 3, 2010 11:21 AM

If it were possible, I'd have The Other Agent Johnson's babies.

As it is, I'd like to give him/her a GREAT lay. Excellent post.

Posted by: Drake at November 3, 2010 12:01 PM

If we could get past the Democrats trying to play this off like it's no big deal and the Republicans trying to act like it's a mandate to ban abortion and move directly to oligarchy, I think we'll see that the American people get really nervous when a monolithic government aggressively pursues an agenda that involves significant change from the long-term status quo. I think that's about exactly what you can take from this election.

Posted by: Eep at November 3, 2010 12:04 PM

I think Eep thinks exactly as I do and probably enjoys many of my favourite pastimes. We should have lunch.

Posted by: admin at November 3, 2010 12:40 PM

Christine O'Donnell didn't lose anything. She never intended or even wanted to be elected. All she needed was to be noticed and then adopted by the Teabaggers as one of them.

Now, she gets to spend the next several years following the Palin template: appear on Fox News weekly, "write" a memoir, travel around the country making thousands an appearance to regurgitate the same tired GOP/Teabagger talking points, all while she laughs maniacally as her bank account rolls over like Steve Wiebe's Donkey Kong score.

Posted by: Mario Speedwagon at November 3, 2010 2:40 PM

Thanks, admin, very flattering coming from you.
