Has Marc Maron Been Painstakingly Cutting a Co-Host Out of His WTF Podcast This Entire Time?

Is it actually possible that for the entire existence of Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, Maron has had a cohost, comedian Nate Fernald, who he carefully cut out of every episode, simply out of some sort of spite or megalomania?

Well, no. But let’s pretend, okay? From Fernald’s Bandcamp page:

Up until recently I co-hosted every episode of WTF with Marc Maron. I enjoyed the experience, but Marc and the guests were always very rude to me and basically ignored me the whole time, to the point where I usually ended up just watching a movie for the rest of the interview. I recently decided to listen to a few episodes and, to my huge disappointment, I was EDITED OUT OF EVERY SINGLE EPISODE.

I’ve been digging through some old files on my computer and found the ORIGINAL audio for a bunch of episodes and am uploading them here so you can listen to the podcast as it was ORIGINALLY INTENDED TO BE HEARD.

In this “unedited” episode of Chris D’Elia’s interview, you can hear Fernald trying to participate, being ignored by both Maron and D’Elia, until finally he waders away to watch a movie. The thing is, it’s not hard to imagine Maron ignoring a co-host for six solid years, is it? That actually seems pretty on-brand for him.
