Godtopus Eats

If I had to qualify the average Pajiban with a single word, that word would be ‘appetitive.’ We like indulging our needs, and we especially like talking about indulging our needs. Our most interesting indulgence — after film lust — is the gastronomical one. Pajibans really seem to love their food. Better yet, a lot of you seem to know quite a bit about it.

Facebooking with many of you has offered me a wealth of food ideas, and some of your best posts are right palate-teasers. Some of us thought it was time to offer a space for Pajibans to articulate those ideas in detail. What resulted was Godtopus Eats, a food blog where we can get together off-site and brag about our conquests. Anyone is welcome to contribute, and posts can range from rants to recipes. They can be long or short, detailed or glancing. They can be written by experienced cooks or experienced eaters. They can be posted on your Facebook page via link and sorted by author for handy online cookbooks. MyySharona and I have already added some favorite recipes to the site—they await your perusal and approval.

If you’d like to contribute, Facebook-friend or email me. Or simply click on over and read. Our invitation to contribute is open to lurkers and newcomers, not just to established worshippers of Godtopus (aka Eloquents). We are all His children, after all.

Oh sweet Zombie Jesus I am all over this! What are the rules regarding gratuitous nudity? I ask because I don't like to get my clothes dirty.

Posted by: admin at July 7, 2010 9:42 AM

Wow, y'all move fast! So glad this is up and running already.

Posted by: tamatha at July 7, 2010 9:50 AM

Sounds fun. Unfortunately, I can't be bothered with Facebook, so you'll miss out on my fantastic recipes.

Posted by: BWeaves at July 7, 2010 10:21 AM

Awesome. I can't access the Facebooky from work, but will log on IMMEDIATELY when I get home. I'll have plenty of recipes for you, and I can tell you about 2 successful weekend baking experiments!!

ADDENDUM: This thing's in no way Facebook-dependent. It's a WordPress blog, so it's WordPress-dependent only. FB's just one way of reaching me to indicate interest. I should have made that clearer.

Posted by: Ranylt at July 7, 2010 10:28 AM

it sounds both awesome and tasty!!!

Posted by: Tammers at July 7, 2010 10:32 AM

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
*waves cowboy hat in air*

Posted by: esme at July 7, 2010 10:55 AM

Huzzah!!!

I'm gonna get working on some recipes, will try and find photos as I go.

Posted by: figgy at July 7, 2010 11:09 AM

I'll have a zillion additions, as soon as I write up the intros to the recipes. It will have to wait until The Cup ends though; I am too busy screaming my head off at Univision.

Are drink recipes allowed? I've perfected various drinks using real home-made ingredients (no margarita or daiquiri mixes here, just simple fresh sqeezed lime juice and 24 hour sugar soaked strawberries. Oh and mojitos! Mmmm, mojitos. Is it too early for one?

Bon Appétit Godtopus!

Scully: yes to the drinks recipes!

Posted by: Ranylt at July 7, 2010 11:45 AM

Two words: Ribs.
(Yes I know it's technically one word, but ribs are so fucking good that I count them as two.)

Posted by: Odnon at July 7, 2010 1:50 PM

Odnon, that one is already in the works.

It looks great and I will definitely submit some Mediterranean/Croatian recipes, but do you think it's possible to embed some sort of unit converter cause I only think/operate in metric units :(

Posted by: astounded at July 7, 2010 2:12 PM

Astounded: by all means use any unit you like. We can do the conversions on our end, as cooks tend to do.

Posted by: Ranylt at July 7, 2010 4:32 PM

Is there some kind of German Supporters Sympathy Loaf?

Posted by: Jo 'Mama' Besser at July 7, 2010 4:54 PM

@astounded:
You think in metric because you are beautiful.

Warm Regards,
Centimeter Celsius

The site looks great. I'm going to have to wrangle up my recipe notes and submit a choice concoction or two.
