Fan-Made Done Right

If you’re like me, and I know you are just a little, then you’re looking forward to AMC’s premier of The Walking Dead on October 31st. I’ve informed my children that there will be no trick-or-treating this year because Daddy already has plans and no amount of crying or caterwauling is going to change that. I’ve also invested in some hounds to unleash should parents allow their spawn to knock upon my door. Note to parents: this post on a website that you never read constitutes fair warning. I’ve checked with my lawyer who lives in a box in my alley and he said as much (I pay him with fifths of vodka). This time you can’t blame me when little Tommy comes home one limb less. Asshole.

Anyway, Daniel Kanemoto is looking forward to The Walking Dead too. However instead of sitting and home and furiously rubbing one out until the pages of his compendium no longer turn (I’ve heard some people do that) he made a short intro for the opening credits that is, in a word, fucking stupendous!

Sweet Zombie Brisket Jesus I can’t wait for Halloween.

Ultra cool.

I saw this this morning and let out a little "HELL YEAH!" under my breath.

Also, some people have a lot of free time. And more talent in their little finger than I have in my whole body.

Dear me, that was exquisite!

Every time I'm reminded how far away the premiere is I get antsy. I WANT IT NOW!

And yeah, yeah. That title sequence is okay. JUST okay.

*seethes with jealousy*

Super cool! This should be the REAL opening...heck.yes.

Posted by: Candee at September 27, 2010 8:34 PM

wooowzers. that opening is kinda spoilery, too...if you can recognize any of the characters biting it.

Posted by: Vince Noir at September 27, 2010 8:38 PM

SPOILER??

Vince: Um... Not sure if you've read the series, but you can kinda assume that just about everyone will bite it.

Posted by: jollies at September 27, 2010 8:57 PM

Pretty cool. They could totally use it for the show.
Kind of off topic but it's a hell of a lot better than the BOARDWALK EMPIRE opening credits.

Oct 31st cannot get here soon enough.

Mr. Kanemoto, you glorious motherfucker. Absolute genius. I am now 73 times more excited for this show, and I was pretty jazzed anyway.

Posted by: Kballs at September 28, 2010 7:54 AM

That was fantastic. Is the show going to be an animation or live action? I ask because I don't own a television and haven't been exposed to any of the talk/advertising about it. Either way this will end up in my netflix queue.

Posted by: Danielle Lilly at September 28, 2010 8:41 AM

Danielle, it's live action. I suggest you use the search feature to the top right and view some of Pajiba's other articles including the trailer. It looks bloody magnificent.

Thanks Robert. I just checked out the AMC trailer. This show looks addictive.

love that song--is that beck?

Posted by: amandita at September 28, 2010 11:22 AM

@amandita - It does sound a little Beck-y, but it's called "Fresh Blood" by eels.

Incidentally, this is kick ass and makes me that much more excited for the premiere. I keep expecting to hear that AMC has purchased the rights to this. How could they not, now? Whatever they had planned can't be this cool.

Posted by: Nicole at September 28, 2010 12:47 PM

Well, at the start of the series you don't yet know that like half of the original group dies in the first trade. From that point on you can basically assume everyone will die.

I wonder how Rick will go...I think he'll die of old age and reanimate, then eat his son.

Posted by: Vince Noir at September 28, 2010 7:47 PM

Heh. Caterwauling's a cool word. I'm gonna use it in a sentence tomorrow. After I think a good one up. And set up a situation where I can be seen to spontaneously use it.

I have decided not to attend any Halloween party that does not a)have a TV on premises and b) does not get A&E

Posted by: ASterisk at September 28, 2010 8:31 PM

Errr, A&E=AMC. I don't care if they get A&E. I don't even know any programs on that station

Posted by: ASterisk at September 28, 2010 8:32 PM

thank you nicole!!
i want to dance.

I was excited about this show to begin with, then recently I found out that my neighbor and friend from high school is involved in creating the sfx for it, so now I'm both excited and proud! Go Spence!
