So Dustin, unless I missed a wayward post somewhere, you never did announce the winner of the contest to guess last weekend's movie gross (you know, Expendables vs EPL vs Scott vs the World vs good taste). You just promised a prize for the page hits, didn't you? You can't fool me. To paraphrase the words of the great philosopher Homer, you couldn't fool me on the foolingest day of your life even if you had an electrified fooling machine. So pay up or 'fess up. man.

The Aniston Problem: I see a reasonably attractive, fairly likable professional actress doing moderately successful movies on a regular basis. Sounds like all win for her, even if you do not like the movies that she does.

Perhaps the problem is in expecting relatively "nice" romcoms to be something more. They are not - Hollywood is supposed to be churning these out on a weekly basis, but everyone is obsessed with huge box-office numbers, instead of turning out regular product.

Not everything can be Avatar, and they really shouldn't even try.

    Well, thank Godtopus for that.

Amen. And we don't want ASSALTAR, we want something with a plot that doesn't make you:
    1.) scream
2.) rip off your sex organs
    3.) set them on fire
    4.) laminate the ashes
    5.) rip out you eyes
    6.) Repeat steps 3 and 4
    7.) Rip out your eardrums
    8.) Repeat Step 6
9.) Detonate a nuclear Device to save humanity from the hells you've seen

    Make sense?
