Despicable A**hole Murders the Cat of a Politician's Kids, Writes "Liberal" On Its Corpse

What kind of psychotic motherf**ker kills a kid’s cat for political purposes?

“Last night, Jake [Burris, campaign manager of Arkansas Democratic congressional candidate Ken Aden] and his four kids had come back to their Russellville [Arkansas] home. As they were getting out of the car, one of his children discovered their family cat dead on the front porch. One side of the animal’s head had been bashed in and an eyeball was hanging out of its socket. But there was something even more horrifying to be found on the corpse. Written across the animal’s fur in black marker was the word “LIBERAL”.”

There is a picture, which you can see here, but I’m not posting it. Suffice to say, it would make animal rights activist Kristen Bell very upset.

A psychotic motherf**ker!

Horrifying. I haven't seen anything about this yet but I'm hoping the right is coming out hard against this type of behavior so that this doesn't incite some kind of loony trend.

Some people are just awful. Plain and simple.

As everyone knows, because I've stated it again and again, I love horror movies. However, I **HATE** horror movies in which a hapless animal gets killed as a run-up to the action.

Killing pets is SOFA KING WRONG and unnecessary. Out of bounds, man, out of bounds.

It's this kind of act of cowardice that makes me root for the downfall of humanity.

PLEASE don't make the Godwinian leap of painting all conservatives with one brush. I'm a little bit right of Atilla and I dislike cats as much as anybody but I'll stand up with anybody and say this is wrong. This is not a political act; it is a psychotic one.

Posted by: midas89(heavy) at January 23, 2012 4:02 PM

Thank you for not posting the picture...Im pretty sure that would have been a topper to the perfectly horrible day I've had already.

And the person who did this is a serial killer waiting to happen, so I hope he is caught and prosecuted for the hate crime (and murder) that this is.

That poor creature did not deserve this and anyone who can do this to a poor helpless cat, can and WILL do it to human beings.

as an aside, the header pic is a fan made poster of Harlequin...and its pretty awesome.

You know what, fuck this. I am so sick of the arguments that it's a "psychotic" issue and not a political one. I was sick of it when Giffords got shot and Sarah Palin and her filthy goddamn target were supposed to be held unaccountable.

The fact of the matter is, you don't hear about liberals committing these types of savage atrocities. YOU. JUST. DON'T.

Ring-wing nutjob conservatives need to be held accountable AS A GROUP. When you spread and condone as much hatred as they do, it's only a matter of time before people are going to fucking act on it.

So disgusted.

What kind of absolute fucking cocksucker...

I hope Kristen Bell hears of this, mutates into a zombie ninja-rage cat, hunts this motherfucker down, tears off their ears, and shoves them up their arsehole so that they can hear themselves shitting their pants with an all-too-late regret.

And then as a bonus we can get a worthwhile spin-off to Veronica Mars.

Posted by: zeke the pig at January 23, 2012 4:54 PM

Did you know 99% of cats blink when you hit them in the head with a hammer? I guess this one was the 1% since its eyeball popped out.

But seriously people who kill animals should be put in a burlap sack and drowned in a river.

Posted by: the EPA at January 23, 2012 4:54 PM

OK. How about I phrase it this way. If these violent incidents are the not the result of political affiliation, but individuals with a few screws loose -- then why aren't more liberals committing violent crimes in the name of politics? Are there really no liberals with a handful of screws loose? (Which, FALSE, because take my mother-in-law - please.) No, it's because liberals don't have the equivalent of Fox News poking the hornet's nest with a stick.

No, I don't hold every single conservative responsible for the actions of a sick few. But there are those out there perpetuating whom I very much hold accountable.

Posted by: Stacey at January 23, 2012 4:56 PM

But just once I'd like to hear a conservative candidate outright condemn such actions and that that kind behavior is not welcomed. It probably won't happen since doing so would alienate too many of their like-minded base. For that matter I don't ever hope to see the political party make that kind of overall stand either. Political parties will tolerate or turn a blind eye to many disgusting actions, if it benefits them.

The closest I ever saw was John McCain correcting an elderly voter who said Obama wasn't a Christian and was about to go into the banter that had become the regular hateful talk. I think he knew he was screwed in the election at that point.

Posted by: bleujayone at January 23, 2012 4:58 PM

This is not a political act; it is a psychotic one.

Umm... The cat had "liberal" written on it. It belonged to a Democractic campaign manager. You can't divorce politics from this act at all. To this individual, this is his/her politics. It very cleary says that in permanent marker.

In other words, it's both; it's a sociopath's/psychopath's political statement. And as such, it totally merits a discussion of politics, especially because of late, the conservative extremists have been putting a lot of violence-filled, hateful, intolerant rhetoric out there. So the question to be answered is if this attitude is the catalyst for nutters to act on violent impulses since one side (a very extreme side) is saying that violence is the answer.

Posted by: Quorren at January 23, 2012 4:59 PM

I wanted to clarify that I don't approve of torture/abusing animals. Killing animals for food/hunting is fine.

Also (because I want to poke the hornet's nest),

"If these violent incidents are the not the result of political affiliation, but individuals with a few screws loose -- then why aren't more liberals committing violent crimes in the name of politics?"

Posted by: Stacey at January 23, 2012 4:56 PM

Stalin and Mao. The most extreme left/liberal there is and they are the biggest butchers of all time.

Posted by: the EPA at January 23, 2012 5:04 PM

I love you too, PaddyDog. Did I mention I had to put my dog to sleep just after Thanksgiving?

I'll be over in the Puppy Bowl thread.

Posted by: MM at January 23, 2012 5:07 PM

It's not funny, and it's not really political. It's a threat, and it's terrifying. If I were that campaign manager I would request around the clock security from the cops, or move. Animal killing really is one of the danger signals that someone is going to start harming people.

JByrd is dead right about the comparison to cross-burning.

Posted by: marya at January 23, 2012 5:08 PM

Don't confuse "extreme left" and "liberal". They're not the same. Both "extreme right" and "extreme left" positions are totalitarian positions. Nothing liberal about them.

Indeed. They hold their pinkies up when partaking of their Budweiser and serve their pork rinds in bowls, like the Kennedys. Also, when approaching someone with the intent of selling meth, they always introduce themselves first, and remove their trucker caps in the presence of ladies.

Not like those savages from Oklahoma. No class at all in that state.

Posted by: Slash at January 23, 2012 6:17 PM

When I started college after my military time, I ended up sharing a dorm room with a kid straight of out high school. He was a hard core McCain supporter who honestly loved politics and thought that if people got together, any problem could be solved.

He ended up graduating and still works campaigns on the state level in our capital. When he got done with his first internship, the poor kid discovered just how ugly, nasty, and insane politics on the local level were. I remember getting a call from him. The campaign manager had sent him and about six other interns out to remove from mailboxes any political stuff not related to their candidate, including removing lawn signs. They were TELLING kids to commit a federal crime and they didn't bat an eye. My buddy thought something was at least morally wrong with doing it and I basically had to tell him that if they got caught, the interns were the ones that were going to get fucked.

Killing a cat like that is a nuance but the underlying insanity is still there is almost all politics. And while it may seem to us that its a GOP/Conservative issue...its across the board. The campaign telling my friend to commit a major crime was a democrat that currently still has a high position in my state. The pathetic thing is that this guy was basically running unopposed.

American liberals are, in general, not particularly powerful. You get your hateful motherfuckers like Ian Murphy of The Beast, and your retards like Cenk Ungur of The Young Turks, but America spent so long fighting against communism that the left is rather powerless compared to the right.

It's not as if sickening practices have never come from the left. The Norwegian leftists are responsible for men like Zoran Vuković, responsible for the rape and forced impregnation of thousands of women, and Arnfinn Nesset, who murdered over one hundred nursing home residents, both being released from prison after barely a decade behind bars.

Then you have the whole business with the various Leftist groups in Europe who have alligned themselves with anti-Zionists factions and some particularly nasty African, Middle Eastern, and even Latin-American dictators in the name of anti-colonialism.

Then there's the ever increasing number of people who are saying the U.S. committed the biggest atrocity other than the Holocaust in World War II, even though the Japanese were so militaristic during that time period that they still didn't surrender after the Nagasaki bomb was dropped.*

Then there's the nonsensical arguments by men like George Galloway and Noam Chomsky that al-Qaeda is nowhere near responsible for as much criminal activity as the Bush administration, even though far more Afghani's have been murdered by al-Qaeda than any American military force even ignoring the despicable regime they set in place.

Then there's the Something Awful boards. One of the few American based website I've seen attempt to deny that Palestenian leader Haj Amin al-Husseini, the chief Arab recruiter for the Waffen SS, was anything less than an enthusiastic Nazi.

I could go on with this for a long time, and I wouldn't even have spew bullshit like saying Bill Clinton murdered Vince Foster. It's just that Leftism isn't that powerful or prominent in the U.S.

* Emperor Hirohito surrendered because he didn't want a third bomb dropped on his country, but that didn't stop an attempted coup by the hardcore militarists from happening. Fortunately, the coup failed, and a surrender was finally negotiated in late August of 1945.

Posted by: bbmcrae at January 23, 2012 7:42 PM

@Diablo:

Did you really just equate mail tampering with murdering an animal? Because it sure sounds like you did.

Killing a cat is not a nuance.

Posted by: MM at January 23, 2012 7:46 PM

The thing about Stalinist Communism was that while all the gulaging was going on, there wasn't, as it turns out, a neatly balanced equivalent number of Rusians being murdered by free market fans.

Cat murdering is not a logical consequence of any particular theory about economics or federal structure. Nevertheless,, the psychos pretty much always pick one side, because that's the side that enables their crazy.

I'm sorry I clicked through to that link, because I'd read the story before and managed to avoid the pic, but not that time. It's worth highlighting the response of the guy's opponent:

[T]he 3rd congressional district seat, [is] currently held by Rep. Steve Womack (R-AR), since August 2011. He released a statement on the matter this morning: “To kill a child’s pet is just unconscionable. As a former combat soldier, I’ve seen the best of humanity and the worst of humanity. Whoever did this is definitely part of the worst of humanity.”

Nobody approves of this except the asshole who did it.

So for the sake of my own sanity, I'm going to assume that those of you in the "let's torture and kill this motherfucker and feed him to tigers at the zoo" group are just really bad and making their sarcasm evident.
Yes it's despicable to kill someone's pet and do what he did with it, and yes he absolutely should be prosecuted, but some of you are acting as though he killed the politician's kids or something.

Posted by: AngelArm45 at January 23, 2012 10:58 PM

Answer: You don't.

Yeah, when he wrote "liberal" he was actually signing it.

Posted by: Gregorio at January 23, 2012 11:37 PM

Are some of you really so dense to say that political acts of violence are solely a right-wing phenomenon? Really?

Lee Harvey Oswald was an extreme leftist, i.e., a communist, and if I'm not mistaken he killed someone for not being left enough...

Lets keep going! It was a liberal who bit the finger off a man who disagreed with him on healthcare. Environmental leftists burn car dealerships and destroyed a ski logge in CO for being made of wood.

Joseph Stack flew his plane into the IRS building after writing an anti-conservative scree. Obama supporter Amy Bishop took a gun to work and murdered co-workers. Bill Ayers, a liberal and friend of Obama, blew up a police station. Fortunately no one was killed. (He's an admitted terrorist though...)

How about Pentagon shooter John Patrick Bedell, who was a registered Democrat and the Holocaust museum shooter, James Von Brunn, who was an "anti-Christian, 9/11 'truther' who hated the Bushes and 'the neo-cons'"? Or the people who firebombed Palin's church in 2008?

John Patrick Bedell, the perpetrator of the Pentagon shooting in Mar 2010, was a registered Democrat, strongly opposed the Gulf War, hated Bush, believed Bush carried out 9/11, and called the Iraq War "Satanic". Left wing Radical Environmentalist James Jay Lee strapped an explosive device to himself and takes hostages at The Discovery Channel in MD.

Left wing members of the Austin Affinity Group planned to use built, possessed and planned to use explosive devices and firearms against the Republican National Convention in Minnesota. Bradley Neal Crowder and David Guy McKay were both convicted.

Michael Enright, the guy who stabbed a muslim NY cabbie, is, according to his Facebook profile and the website of the left-leaning media organization Intersections International — a student at the School of Visual Arts and a volunteer for Intersections, which recently produced a statement of support for the Park51 project [i.e., the Ground Zero Victory Mosque] and is funded by the mainstream, liberal Collegiate Church of New York.

And jared loughner was a registered independent. Although he cited the Communist Manifesto as a favorite book and was described as a leftist by his HS classmates...

Keep lying to yourselves, liberals. You might try to wash your hands of the blood you've spilled, ala Lady MacBeth, but in the end the memory remains.

Posted by: Some Guy at January 23, 2012 11:51 PM

Hmm.

A cat shouldn't be held accountable for it's owner's political leanings (especially fatally).

But, if a cat comes onto my property, fucks with my fruit and vege garden, and shits everywhere, then that cat is going to learn a tough lesson about respecting property.

I do not believe animals should be entitled to a behavioural free pass because they are cute. Especially with people smashing harmless spiders to smithereens on sight because they think they are icky.

I think spiders are fucking adorable. Stop squishing them please.

Posted by: The Only New Zealander at January 24, 2012 12:48 AM

It's a strange phenomenon. When a right wing person commits a really horrible act, the result is a quick apology from a few conservatives and then a barrage of "both sides do it" attacks. If one person apologizes, we're supposed to forget the whole thing happened. When a left wing person commits a really horrible act, the result is a great number of apologies from liberals from all walks of life and minimal projection against conservatives for similar acts. No matter how much people apologize, we're not allowed to forget that thing happened. Strange how that works.

Posted by: Robert at January 24, 2012 7:41 AM

What Some Guy said. But with more profanity.

Posted by: Greedy at January 24, 2012 7:45 AM

i stole this from zerohedge but it just about has it right..

The sheeple believe there is a difference between the parties.

The idiots forget how Reagan raised taxes multiple times or how Bush Sr. did as well. They forget how Democrats promised to change Wall-Street and help home-owners. They forget how Republicans promised they would end abortion or how Democrats promised they would end poverty and homes for everyone. They forget how Bush led us into stupid wasteful wars and how Clinton signed into law the removal of Glass-Stegal. Etc, etc etc....

The parties don't represent we the people..they represent special interests and if you aren't one of those special interests you are a slave. Funny how slaves cheer on their masters.

Posted by: will at January 24, 2012 8:45 AM

The parties don't represent we the people..they represent special interests and if you aren't one of those special interests you are a slave. Funny how slaves cheer on their masters.

I grow so tired of this sentiment, this incessant complaining about paymasters and servants and how both sides are evil... yet offering no real solutions. There's no value in complaining about the system if you're not doing anything to try to fix it. It's another symptom of voter apathy, like people who don't vote because they don't like either candidate (not saying that's you, will, but the issues are often connected).

This is what the world is. Not all politicians are slaves to interest. Yes, special interest plays a role, but here's a fun fact for you: that's the way things have always been. Our founding fathers had to deal with the influence of special interests. Hell, ancient Roman politicians worked for special interest.

This is the real world, where even the politicians you like are going to make decisions you disagree with. It's the inevitable consequence of living in a democracy of 300 million people. Some of those decisions will be based on principle, some will be based on money, some will be based on bargaining, some will be based on fear, some will be based on doing the right thing. This is what humans do. What you can do, if you're not going to take an active role, is pick the one you feel is the most in line with your opinions, who you hope will make the fewest mistakes.

So stop complaining. Find a way to make it better. Participate. Don't just bitch on an internet board. Spare us hyperbolic statements about slavery, which is not only inaccurate but insulting, both to us as a people and to those of us whose ancestors were actual slaves.

Finally, fuck animal abusers, regardless of political affiliation.

Posted by: Ghisent at January 24, 2012 10:38 AM

Seriously, I believe that anyone who runs for office above, say, county commissioner has to have some degree of sociopathy to be good at it, and the higher you aim, the greater the degree. You have to be willing to whore yourself to most anyone who will write you a check plus be able to shake hands with and smile at constituents one minute and then fuck them upside down the next.

I simply can't imagine any sane person wanting to be president.

What kind of psychotic motherf**ker kills a kid’s cat for political purposes?

The kind that'll hang their damage on whatever is handy. Or an agent provocateur. Sadly, in the unbridled pursuit of power, either is a useful.

Posted by: BierceAmbrose at January 24, 2012 12:35 PM

What Some Guy said, only with more emphasis. The reason you don't hear more about "liberals" committing such acts is because when they do, it doesn't get a lot of media coverage. Doesn't fit the "narrative." But we all know people who vote Republican are horrible sickos who hate people and cats, so a random act from a psychotic person gets the attention. I never knew conservatives were so powerful that they had mind control over the deranged. Funny that Republicans are supposedly so powerful and scary, and yet no one in the media has any fear of criticizing them.

Blogs, and Google, are your friend for perspective in this case. I suggest using them to find out just how many "liberal" politicians and talking heads have used target-related metaphors and violent symbolic language SINCE Rep. Giffords was shot. The answer might surprise you.
