Brock Turner is a rapist who likes to swim when he’s not dragging an intoxicated, unconscious woman behind a dumpster to rape her. Brock Turner is a convicted rapist who despite being caught in the act by two witnesses, and the heart-breaking plea from his brave victim, was sentenced to only six months of jail time. Yet he only served three months because rape culture is real and our justice system is broken. Convicted rapist Brock Turner is a registered sex offender who is seeking an appeal so he doesn’t have to be a registered sex offender anymore. And convicted rapist Brock Turner’s lawyers’ reasoning for this appeal is enough to turn our stomachs.

The Mercury News reports that convicted rapist Brock Turner’s lawyer Eric Multhaup argues that convicted rapist Brock Turner is not a rapist because all convicted rapist Brock Turner sought in his nonconsensual sexual encounter with the unnamed victim was “outercourse,” as opposed to penetrative intercourse.

Per The Mercury News:

“Outercourse,” his lawyer Eric S. Multhaup explained to the three poker-faced justices, is sexual contact while fully clothed. Turner had his clothes on when he was caught by two Swedish graduate students making thrusting motions on top of a half-naked, intoxicated, unconscious woman, his lawyer noted.

On March 30, 2016, convicted rapist Brock Turner was found guilty of three felonies that include “assault with intent to commit rape of an intoxicated or unconscious person, sexual penetration of an intoxicated person and sexual penetration of an unconscious person.” But his lawyer is insisting he never intended to rape the unconscious victim he was savagely humping behind a dumpster. He just intended to dry-hump her unconscious, intoxicated, and unable to consent body.

Thankfully, the justices were not buying it. Justice Franklin D. Elia said, “I absolutely don’t understand what you are talking about,” and that the law “requires the jury verdict to be honored.”

So, things are not looking up for convicted rapist Brock Turner.

Besides, if a reversal was granted, convicted rapist Brock Turner would face trial once more. And considering his original judge was recalled because of public outcry over the insanely lenient sentence, convicted rapist Brock Turner wouldn’t likely fair better the second time around.
