Why Bother Watching a Show When You Can Watch People Talk About It

The ’90s: The Last Great Decade on National Geographic Channel at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. I assume they’re using “last” in the sense of “most recent” but who knows. Frankly, most of these “great decade” things seem less determined by what actually happened and more by which generation happens to be in control of the programming at the station in question. Either National Geographic Channel has a bunch of Gen X’ers working for them, or they’ve realized that the Boomers will eventually die out so maybe it’s time to start pandering to a younger group of people.

Talking Dead: Season 5 Preview Special on AMC at 9:00pm ET. Hey, Walking Dead fans! AMC knows what you’re missing! It’s Chris Hardwick, right? That’s what you’re missing? Because that’s what you’re gonna get! You’re welcome.

True Blood on HBO at 9:00pm ET.

The Leftovers on HBO at 10:00pm ET.

Robot Chicken on Adult Swim at 11:30pm ET. I’m mostly mentioning this because the episode is called “Stone Cold Steve Cold Stone” and I find it delightful that Robot Chicken is apparently taking aim at Stone Cold Steve Austin the very night his new show, Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge, premieres on CMT. Excellent work, stop motion animation fiends.

Genevieve Burgess has her computer back and is almost embarrassingly happy about it.
